(Conner’s POV)
Breakfast with Dad was good. He looked so happy and content. I guess Fate is actually some kind of miracle worker because Dad has accepted things with his ex-mate really well. He’s already moving on from all of that though he still wants to be there during Jennifer’s interrogation, and so do we.
None of us are looking for revenge. After we all got settled in last night, and April stopped fussing over us like a mother hen, Austin and I talked things over and we both agreed that, as far as we were concerned, that woman in the cells was NOT our mother. Our mother died when we were just infants and that woman was just another monster to be dealt with accordingly.
