(April’s POV)
I was helping with administering these shots and all the while I was looking for Toby. This was absolutely heartbreaking. These poor vamps were suffering so badly. Every now and again I would come across a wolf too. They were just as bad.
All told, we had a hundred and fifty-seven vamps and fifty-three wolves. Of those fifty-three wolves, eight were rushed in for emergency procedures due to wounds, none related to the dr*g. Apparently, these were the wolves who fought back once they realized what was going on. And that guy who bravely held on to tell us what he knew? He’s been in surgery now for over an hour.
We were nearly done giving the antidote when, finally, I found Toby!
