Episode 8: Too Close

Episode 8: Too Close Brittany couldn’t shake the feeling. The ribbon. The shadows. The knowing glance in reflections that weren’t there. She walked faster tonight, clutching her bag tightly, forcing herself to focus on the lights ahead, the familiar hum of the city around her. But the tension followed her, a whisper she couldn’t outrun. Lucifer was closer than ever. Not hidden across the street. Not a distant shadow. He followed just behind her. Every step synchronized with hers, silent. Invisible. Perfect. Her pulse quickened. She sensed him before she could see him. The air itself felt heavier, charged. Her skin prickled. Her hair seemed to lift with static energy. She stopped at the corner café, glancing behind her briefly. Nothing. Just the empty sidewalk. But he had been there. Close enough to see her expression. Close enough to feel the subtle fear she tried to hide. He didn’t approach. Not yet. Tonight was about letting her know — she was being watched. Brittany’s breath came faster as she forced herself to move again, trying to convince herself she was imagining it. Lucifer remained perfectly still in the darkness for a moment, savoring the moment. Then, like smoke, he disappeared into the shadows. One thing was certain: she would feel him again. And next time, he wouldn’t stay behind.
