Chapter 4

I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet. My husband came and held my hair back rubbing my back. This was the sixth time today, and I have been shaking, and getting heat waves. As I was finished, and my guts were in the toilet, I leaned back. My love stood up and re-tied my hair, that was held up but came loose.     “Thank you honey,” I told him closing my eyes and trying to breathe.     “Anything for you, just no kisses I don’t need to get sick,” He laughed and I stuck my tongue out at him, before shaking my head with a little smile on my face.     He had picked me up and carried me to my bed, there were my little babies.     “Momma, I got you a glass of water,” My little star held up the water, and I gladly took it.     “Thank you baby,” I got under the covers feeling coldness rushing over me. Then I felt hot.     “Momma I got you a wet rag, daddy said it would help,” I looked over at my little Ollie, and smiled.     “Yes it will, thank you my little prince.” He gave me a little toothy smile.     I looked over at the time to see it was their bedtime, and sighed, “I’m sorry babies I don’t think momma-” Before I could finish I started coughing, then suddenly sneezed. The feeling of throwing up came over me, but after taking a drink of water, it slowly went away, “-I don’t I’ll be able to tell you the story, otherwise I’ll be coughing through the whole thing,” I saw their little faces drop, but they still smiled.     “That’s okay momma, you can continue when you feel better!”  My little gentlemen exclaimed, which cause my husband and I to laugh, while he wore an award winning grin. I looked over at my husband and an idea struck me.     “How about your dad tells you the story,” His eyes widened and he glared at me in a goofy manner. Their faces brighten.     “Will you daddy! Please!” Little Laveaha crossed her hands closed her eyes and carried out her please. Her brother then joined in. My husband was defeated.     “Okay, okay, but I don’t know Lillian’s side of things,” The little ones looked confused, as they sat at the end of the bed, Laveaha with her legs crossed, Oliver sitting on his legs, “I can only say the dragon’s side,” The kids looked excited and nodded.     “Well let’s see, Lillian skins the rabbit, the dragon is asleep, and she falls asleep, okay. Damien was not actually asleep, he just wanted to see what the little Lily would do, he was awake the whole time, and as he watched her fall into slumber he got up…”      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     I looked over at the sleeping little human, god she was tiny. She was tiny but also beautiful. My god, the way the fire glazed her pale skin, and illuminated her black hair. It reminded me of the night sky. At that moment, I wished to have regular hands to run my fingers through her hair, it looked so soft. Those big eyes, you could look into them everyday and never get bored. You get sucked in and feel surrounded by the green, in a good way. My god, her voice, it was soft and gentle and was a song upon my ears. I could listen to it everyday. Everything about her, was gentle, and soft, yet those green eyes. There was a spark, a little fire danced in them. I found myself entranced by her. I walked over to her when the fire was burning, and realized she hadn’t covered herself with the blanket. I drew a breath and breathed out the little fire to keep the sun within her reach. I grabbed the blanket with my claw, and was very careful in covering her.      I noticed her hands were covered in blood, I stopped the blanket and reached my head closer to where her hands laid by her head. I began licking the blood off. Once, I couldn’t see a speck of blood on her hands. I finished covering her with the blanket and walked back over to the wall. I looked over at the little being to make sure she was alright before falling asleep.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     “Eww!” I laughed at my daughters face as she sat up, shook her head, and scrunched up her face, “That’s gross!”      “Well that’s what the dragon did, he had to clean up the blood,” My husband said, before reaching over and grabbing her and pulled her close. She squirmed in his hold, “What? If I licked you would you get grossed out?”  Her face turned to horror, and she was wiggly all over trying to get out.     “No daddy! Don’t lick me!” She yelled, he started laughing.     “I won’t but what if I...tickle you!” he held her down and tickled her while she laughed, and was trying to escape.     “Mommy! Save me! Ollie!” She laughed in between her words.     “No one can save you! I’m the evil monster! And the evil monster is growing hungry!” He reached down and acted like he was eating her, while still tickling her. I laughed at the sight.     “Don’t worry Vea! I’ll save you!” My little Ollie said before tackling my husband.      “Oh no! They got me! Tell my wife...I...Love...Her...bleh,” his face fell sideways, his eyes closed and stuck out his tongue to the side. He acted dead. I rolled my eyes and laughed at the little scene that just played out. The little ones started laughing too.      “Daddy continue the story!” The little princess said, and he just laughed before sitting up. I leaned on his side, while our two babies cuddled into us.     “Okay, okay, well morning came and the dragon had awoken before the girl..”              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~         I walked out to the little cliff, outside of the cave. The sun rose over the trees that sat in front of the high mountain. Three vultures flew above, circling what seems to be their prey. I arched my back, then twisted my body side to side before leaning down and letting my wings go far out. As far as they could go. Before thinking I was good to go back in I shook them out. I looked out once more to see the sun just above the forest, and the vultures closer to the ground. I turned to see little Lily looking at me with wide eyes. Her hair was a little messed up, and she had the blanket wrapped around her tightly. I was curious as to why this little thing had run away. What had happened to cause her to run. It didn’t seem to me that she was nobility, but still poor women still wore dresses, and her clothes were not something normal for women to wear.  A large white shirt that seemed to be old, for it held many stains, and tan shorts, with ripped up boots.     “Good morning,”  I gave her a nod, she looked shocked, before giving a little smile.     “Good morning,” She said in her soft voice. Silence soon filled the cave, with us just staring, before she cleared her throat, “Thank you,”  Her smile seemed to brighten, “but I think it's time for me to go.”     I didn’t want this little human to go. God, it has been forever since I last had someone to talk to, “Where are you going?” I rushed out, “Please, so I make sure you have safe travels getting there.” She had a look of surprise.     “I don’t know,”  I took a deep breath.     “Why did you run away then with no idea where you would go?”  Her eyes swelled up with tears, but she closes them tightly and breathed in.  After a bit she opened them.     “I didn’t have much time to plan things out, I had to leave then and there,” She rushed out. I decided to persist the question that seemed to plague my mind.     “Why did you run?” She shook her head, I took a step closer, “Lillian, why did you run away?” She again, shook her head, and her hair shook all the place.     “I don’t want to talk about it,” She included, and stayed rooted in her spot. I took a step closer, and smirked, and she looked at my face, before bursting into laughter. I was confused.     “Are you smirking?” She giggled.     “Yes, I am. Scared?” I took another step, knowing she was getting a kick out of this, and I wanted to hear her laughter again, so I smirked.     “No,” she started laughing again, “You look weird.”      I gasped, “I do not look weird, I look terrifying,” I growled for extra effect, and got the perfect reaction.     “Nope!” She couldn’t stop giggling.      “Well you leave me no other choice I guess,” Her eyes widened, as I was now right in front of her, and began licking her. Lillian fell into the pits of laughter.                                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     “The dragon pounced and gobbled up the girl!” He grabbed Laveaha, and tickled her. She screamed and was throwing little punches. I started laughing.     “No daddy! Bad!” Laveaha squealed. My love released our little girl.     “Anything for the princess,” She giggled as she watched her dad bow.     “Daddy continue the story now, the dragon didn’t eat Lily right?” My heart broke, for the sad face Laveaha had. My husband pulled her onto his lap, as he sat with his legs crossed, and she looked up.     “No sweetie, the dragon already started caring for the girl, way to much. He could never. Well the dragon finished his attack on Lillian, they shared a good laugh, and he went outside of the cave, and she sat with him.”                    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     I laid curled up on the little cliff, as Lillian sat on the side, the blanket still covering her, and her knees pulled to her chest. The slight breeze of the morning blew her hair, sometimes it would fly in her face, and she would get irritated. It was a cute sight. Other than that, she was quiet.     “Damion?” She looked over at me, and I lifted my head to look over at her.     “Yes Lily?”     “I don’t know where I’m going,” She looked into my eyes, as if to make sure I was listening, she sighed, “Can I stay here, until I find somewhere to go?” Happiness overwhelmed me,     “Stay here as long as you like, it is nice having company,” She smiled.     “Thank you.” I gave her a nod, before laying my head back down.     “Damien?” I lifted my head once more.     “Yes Lily?” I drew out.     “Are there other dragons? Do they talk?” I huffed.     “I haven’t ran into another one.”     “Have you flown all around the world?” I lifted my tail.     “Yes I have, you seem to be in a curious mood.”     “I’m a curious person,”  She stuck out her tongue, and giggled. I moved my tail and wrapped it around her, before picking her up being careful.     “Well save your curiousness for over here,” I placed her far away, as she was shocked into silence.     “Hey! That wasn't fair!” She giggled and started walking back to me. I blocked her by holding up my tail. She was trying everything to get back over here. Before giving up, she let out a huff, crossed her arms, and sat down. I roared with laughter. She stuck out her tongue.     “Do you want to come back over here?” She shook her head, “Okay,” I picked her up again with my tail, and sat her closer anyways. Lily sat in her original spot, just a little closer to me.     “Hey! I thought I told you no!” She got up, and before she could walk away I grabbed her by my tail, and again, put her closer to me. Lillian gasped, and hit my tail, playfully. I laughed. Lily began laughing, and leaned against me.     “Thank you, for everything,”     “Of course,” I told her, before silence surrounded us, and we just sat, with the breeze hitting us.                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     “I think it’s two little ones bed time,” I told them as I looked over at the clock. They looked over at it and groaned.     “Please mom, let us stay up longer,” Oliver begged, and I shook my head.     “Your mom is right, it's time for bed, and she needs sleep too. Say goodnight, and I’ll tuck you in.” The two groaned, but hugged me goodnight, and rushed into bed.     “Give them extra love from me please honey,” I told him, and he nodded, giving me a smile.     “Of course.”
