I am lying in bed staring at Jackson, he is asleep, I want to reach out and touch him, but I am still weak. My body is still fighting the mistletoe poisoning. Who would have thought someone as simple as burnt coal would be the cure for something that has been feared by vampires, werewolves, and humans for centuries? One thing I am glad for is that Lin finally gave up the antidote and that since I have been awake, I haven’t seen either her or Cayley.
Cayley was forced to work the shifts at the entrance at the valley, much to her dismay and she hated it. Every second of it. She is still very bitter and has made it clear that she still hates me but hates Lin so much more now because after everything Lin had done, she finally found her mate and she was on her own path to redempt
