Fundamentals of Magic

Jim stood up again, he didn't want to waste time. After he felt that he had enough rest, he returned to train his skills. Especially the ability of fire elemental magic skills. He continuously attacked the boulder with his fire magic. Until many times he burned the big rock. Even though the rock got hot. But not destroyed. When Jim was vigorously practising his skills. From afar, came Merton's uncle who passed the place where Jim was training. Uncle Merton was back from his fishing. When he came home, he did not see Jim in his house. That's why she looked for Jim because she was worried about what happened to Jim. It turned out that Jim was practising. It so happened that Uncle Merton saw Jim who was trying to burn the rock with his fire magic. Uncle Merton saw that Jim was having a hard time using his fire magic. He did not immediately approach Jim. He just hid behind a tree while watching Jim from afar. Uncle Merton watched Jim's practice. But after a few minutes. Seeing that Jim was so distressed, Merton's uncle approached him a little closer. "You're here, huh". Uncle Merton greeted Jim from behind. Uncle Merton's greeting startled Jim a little. Jim also paused his practice. He turned towards the source of the voice. Then he saw the figure of Merton's uncle. "Oh. Uncle Merton". Jim also greeted Merton's uncle who was behind him. "Since when has Uncle Merton been here?" Jim asked Merton's uncle. Because he wasn't aware of Merton's uncle. Because he was too focused on practising his magic. But without further ado, Uncle Merton suddenly said "your magic is very weak". Then Uncle Merton's words made Jim's heart wrinkle. He lowered his face. As if he agreed with Merton's uncle. He didn't argue with that. He thought what Uncle Merton said was true. His magic is very weak indeed. Suddenly Uncle Merton raised his right hand. As if she was asking Jim something. "Give me one of your arrows". Jim was also confused about Merton. He didn't know what Uncle Merton wanted, so he immediately gave him an arrow. Jim took one of the arrows stuck in a nearby tree. He pulled it out. Then put the arrow in Uncle Merton's hands. Uncle Merton grabbed the arrow as well. Then he took a few steps towards the big rock. Uncle Merton began to concentrate. He started pouring out mana towards the arrow. Slowly the arrow he was holding was orange. Like the fire enveloping the arrow. After the preparations are complete. Uncle Merton immediately hit the boulder with the arrow he was holding. Uncle Merton hit the rock not too hard. But he hit the rock right at its centre point. After a few seconds, the rock crack shot out from the point of the blow until it spread out the whole rock. And, the stone suddenly shattered into pieces. "Wow…" Jim's face was very surprised. Jim couldn't believe what he saw. Uncle Merton's parade took Jim by surprise. "How can?" Jim kept wondering about uncle Merton what he had just seen. Because it seemed impossible just hitting the boulder with arrows to shatter the rock into pieces. "This is the basis of magic". Uncle Merton answered only briefly. This made Jim even more confused. "I still don't understand, Teach me, uncle". Jim was very enthusiastic. He asked Merton's uncle to teach him magic. "Ha? Even you this big still don't understand the basics of magic?". Uncle Merton was surprised that Jim didn't know the basic concepts of magic at all. "Well, you could say a long story. Anyway, teach me uncle" Jim kept trying to persuade uncle Merton to teach him the basic ways of magic. "Huh ... But I saw earlier you can put out a fire?" Asked the uncle who was curious about Jim "All I know is manipulating mana, and randomly casting magic without knowing the concept and how to improve it." Replied Jim "Huh ... okay" Uncle sighed, he was forced to teach Jim because Jim continued to persuade him. Hearing that Merton wanted to teach Jim, Jim was happy, he put his right hand on his chest. Then he bowed a little and said "thank you, teacher" Called a teacher, uncle Merton refused. He said, "don't be too formal, this is just a basis". In this world, magic can be divided into two types, namely the type of magic from blue mana, and magic from black mana. Magic that comes from blue is called Normal Magic, while magic that comes from Black is called Black Magic. In terms of rarity, magic is divided into normal magic and ancient magic. Ancient magic is very rare nowadays. The existence of this magic is that only a handful of people use it, some are extinct, only found in written book records. The level of magic can be divided into starting from the lowest 1. Daily Magic. Magic used for everyday life. 2. Low Magic is the second-lowest level of magic. This magic is magic that is usually used by the average person to fight. The strongest low magic can destroy a house or several buildings in one hit 3. Intermediate Magic is the next higher level magic. This magic power is said to bring havoc or can destroy a city. 4. High Magic is the next level of Magic. This magic is said to bring disaster and can destroy a mountain, an island or a country. But only a handful of people can master it. 5. Supreme Magic, the next level of magic. The second-highest level of magic. It is said that Supreme Magic can crush and destroy a Continent. Until now no one has used this magic, but it is believed that some people have mastered this level of magic. 6. God Magic is the highest level of magic. the most powerful level of magic in this world. This magic is like a myth. No one can use magic at this level. It is said that this magic can destroy the world, even more so, this magic can destroy the universe and its contents. Like the power of a god. Although some people consider it a myth. But some people also believe that someday someone will use this magic because they believe that gods can also pass their power on to humans. "Alright, try to show me your strongest magic" Uncle Merton tried to test Jim's magic ability. Jim also stepped his feet towards the tree. He tried to attack the tree using his fire magic. "Fire magic" Jim also attacks the tree with his weak magic. Just like before, only a small fire came out. "Hahaha, you said this is attack magic?" Uncle Merton laughed at Jim. Since Jim's attack magic was so weak, it wasn't even called an attack. Uncle Merton's continued his taunt "a daily magic do you call an attack? Little kids can do that too". With a slightly erect pose, Merton scolded Jim. He said a little loudly. "At least you have to use Low magic for an attack. Do it again!". Uncle Merton told Jim to do it again. For some reason, Merton changed when he taught Jim magic. He turned into a fierce and killer teacher. Uncle Merton didn't play when he taught Jim magic. Jim continued to make futile attacks towards the tree. Until he was exhausted. He complained. To say "uncle, I don't know how" "Fuh…" Uncle Merton let out a deep breath. He also raised his palm. Then he said. "Watch carefully". Jim also took a good look at Merton's uncle's palms. Then Merton's uncle began to concentrate, he closed his eyes. He started flowing mana towards his palm. While saying "magic is the manifestation form of our imagination. Imagine it in your mind, imagine, form and manifest. That is the process of manifesting magic". Uncle Merton's explanation seemed to be understood by Jim because he simply nodded his head and watched Merton's uncle closely. He didn't even ask a question. "I was imagining a fireball going out in my hand" Uncle Merton continued to teach Jim his lesson. After Merton's uncle imagined a fireball, then he formed it and transformed the image into a real form. Then came out small fireball magic came out in his right hand. Jim was delighted because what Uncle Merton explained was very easy for Jim to understand. Then Merton's uncle threw the fireball at the tree. And after a few seconds, the fireball exploded and burned the tree. Even though the explosion wasn't that big. "Cool…" Jim complimented Uncle Merton. The magic that Uncle Merton displayed fascinated Jim. Because only a small ball can blow up the tree and burn it. "This is only Low-grade magic. If you want to use higher magic, you need to train it again" replied Merton uncle modestly. "Now it's your turn". Uncle Merton ordered Jim to put into practice what he had been taught. Jim started to raise his hand. Because the element of Uncle Merton is the same as the element that Jim is good at today. It should be easy to put into practice. Jim began to close his eyes. He concentrated. He drained the mana from his body into his palms. Then he imagined a fireball as Uncle Merton did. He then formed the fireball with mana. Jim began to manifest fireballs in the palm of his hand. And, successful, in one try, Jim was able to immediately practice it. A fireball came out of the stairs. "Yos ..." Jim was happy, he could do it. Then he started throwing fire magic towards the tree. Jim also threw the magic. After a few seconds, the magic hit the tree in front of him. "Boom ..." the tree exploded, but the explosion was not as strong as Uncle Merton's. "Not bad…" Merton's uncle praised Jim, he was a little surprised. Because Jim can do it in one try. He is now excited to train Jim. Because Jim has the potential to be a great magician. "Listen, Jim, magic is about balance". Suddenly the uncle explained something a little confusing. Because Jim did not understand what the uncle said, he asked. "What do you mean balance?". Uncle began to explain to Jim the meaning of balance. He said, "the fundamental thing to learn magic is balance. In a sense, to control your magic, what you need is balance". Jim just nodded. But his face still looks confused. "If it's just a theory, you must be confused, I'll just practice it". Uncle began to raise his hand again. Then Uncle Merton said, "the amount of power you imagine must be in balance with mana that you are using". Then the uncle began to concentrate again, said: "look at this". Uncle began to shape and materialize a ball of fire on his palm. “I imagined a fireball that could burn a single tree, but I just drained my mana, guess what?” Uncle Merton asked Jim a question so he could analyze it. But Jim couldn't answer, he just said nothing. Then the uncle threw the fireball towards the tree. When the fireball hit the tree. The fireball did not explode, not even to burn the entire tree "You understand, right?" Uncle Merton kept on forcing Jim to think and analyze. "I see, the magic that comes out will be very weak" Jim replied. He began to understand a little. Then suddenly Jim asked the question "then what happened the other way around?" Heard Jim's question. Uncle Merton smiled. Because it didn't take long for Jim to understand that. Then the uncle answered Jim's question "good question ... it turns out you quickly understand. If what you stream is not balanced with the power you imagine, what happens is your magic will blow up you. Because you can't control the mana that you use. So that your magic doesn't get out of control. " Jim began to nod his head, he fully understood now about the fundamentals of magic. He smiled, glad he had learned such a valuable lesson from Uncle Merton. Then the uncle continued his teachings "the point is, to control your magic, you must be able to balance between the flow of mana and the amount of power you imagine. Do you understand?". "Okay Uncle, I understand," replied Jim excitedly. "Alright, try one more time!". Uncle Merton ordered Jim to practice again. "Ok ". Jim also complied with Uncle Merton's orders. He practised what he learned and heard from Uncle Merton. Jim started to concentrate. He closed his eyes again, he imagined a magic power like a ball of fire that can explode and burn a tree. After that, he started flowing enough mana to balance. Then he began to form the magic, and he manifested the magic in the palm of his hand. Then came out fireball magic in his hand. He also opened his eyes again. After he managed to manifest the magic ball pie in the palm of his hand. He threw the magic towards the tree. After a few seconds "boom ..." the fireball magic hit the tree in front of him. And the fireball exploded, the explosion was stronger than his first try. The magic then burned the tree. "Hahaha, that's great." Uncle Merton was delighted to see that Jim could do the magic so easily. He praised Jim for being a very fast learner. Jim managed to put what Uncle Merton said into action without taking long. "Practice your magic continuously. Because to master the balance in magic requires intensive training" Merton uncle also told Jim to continue practising his magic. "Fine, thanks for the knowledge, uncle." With respect, Jim thanked Uncle Merton for what he taught him.
