Chapter Four: Captured

ALPHA GAGE
It’s been a week since my fated mate came here, and I still do not know her name. She still never talks at all, but at least she was eating, and she was not starving herself. I made sure that she was eating enough food with vitamins and complete meals. She looked malnourished when she arrived here. And since the day we met, I have never came to visit her after that.
My attention turned to the door when I heard a soft knock.
‘It’s me’
My beta entered the room with an envelope in his hand.
“Alpha, you know I never doubted your decisions, but I don’t see the relevance of these. You’ve been losing yourself since she came here.”
I looked at him. Despite his gaze, I never felt that he was challenging me. I know he is concerned, but I need to figure this out myself.
“Why are you so invested in her?” he added. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, to refrain myself from being mad at him
“I am your Alpha and I don’t accept your repeated questions, Beta Elon” I said with finality. He looked at me with disbelief and I could see in his eyes that he was hurt by my words. Then he lowered his gaze, avoiding mine. I sighed
“You will understand soon, but this is not the right time yet. Let me handle this on my own”
He didn't respond, he just placed an envelope on my desk, then left my office. I took the envelope and checked what was inside
My world froze as I saw what was inside the envelope.
Moon Persephone Hart
I mumbled her name. I took all the documents inside, though there’s not much in here but at least I got her origin. She is from Silver Moon Pack. I remembered this pack was asking for my protection recently, but I turned them down without a second thought. My brows knitted when she was declared dead. She’s known as Persephone the wolf-less shewolf and was labeled as Omega
As I read further, my fist clenched, she seemed to have the worst pack. That’s why she is as she is now, but I am sure that she is not just an omega.

I stared at the monitor where I could see her. I need to watch her closely, the CCTV in her room is hidden. I have been having sleepless nights since she came here, I can't get her out of my head. I just find myself staring at her sleeping features til the sun rises.
The first time I saw her cleaned up made my heart skip a bit. She is the most beautiful shewolf that I have seen. I was very thankful to the moon goddess for giving me such a wonderful mate, the long wait is very worth it, I am glad that I didn't settle for a chosen Luna. But I am not sure if she will accept me.
As I watched over her I never saw any unusual behavior from her. I smirked when I saw her staring at me through the CCTV
Her eyes still look dull, but it is not as guarded as the first time we met
Her lips moved and I tried to read what she is saying.
‘Rogues’
My brows knitted, did I read it correctly? What does she mean?
‘Alpha! rogues attack!’ I got stunned when I heard my Beta through our mindlink, I returned my gaze to her. She is now standing near the wall with ears pressed on the walls.
I stood up immediately and gave orders to my warriors
‘Guard the border’
‘Yes Alpha!’
‘We need to run’
I rushed to the border and shifted. The one having an attack is our ally.
As I arrived at Midnight Pack, I saw rogues everywhere. I saw some of my warriors were already worn out, some were bruised, but most of them were still standing
I bit all the wolves who tried to attack me
“Arthur” I said with gritted teeth
“Ashford”
“Stop meddling with my business”
“This pack is my business. You are the one meddling with my business” I said with authority
He attacked me, I dodged his right claw, but he managed to s***h my back with his left claw
“I told you to stop getting in my way, Ashford!”
“Leave this pack now, all packs under my watch are not to be messed with!”
I swung my right claw and it slashed his chest which made him stumble backwards
“We are not done yet Ashford” he said as he retreated
Many of the midnight pack members are wounded, good thing none have died from the attack.
“Alpha, seems like Alpha Cyrus had a deal with rogues”
“Investigate this matter, if he really had a deal with our enemy we have to drop their pack in our aly”
“Yes Alpha”
“Send healer to those wounded”
After I gave orders, I rushed back. My wounds are slowly healing. As I arrived at my pack house, all my members welcomed me and asked with worry, but I had no time to deal with them. I didn’t bother cleaning myself. There is still lots of blood in my body, but some aren’t mine.
I pushed the door open and there, her scent was all over me again. She was sitting in her bed while staring at me like she was expecting me to arrive
I stared at her. She is gorgeous as hell in person rather than on CCTV. I almost got stunned and unable to speak, but I set my feelings aside
“How did you know there’s rogues?” she just stared at me
“Are you a spy?” I asked even if it pains me to utter those words
“You’ve been watching me 24/7 Alpha” her answer surprised me. All this time she knew I was watching. This made me think twice. She’s right, I never saw anything suspicious to her
“So how did you know?”
“I sensed them”
“Stop f*cking with me, Moon” her eyes widened, but it immediately shifted. She looked away
“Wolfless shewolf with premonition. Is it real?” she said, then she looked back at me. That was the article that had been circling 5 years ago. Their pack almost got eliminated by rogues.
“That’s you?” I asked
“No one believes that” she responded
I stared at her, she’s trying to f*ck with my head
“Stop making a fool out of me, Moon” I said impatiently, but I saw the corners of her mouth lifted
“You’re the first who called me Moon” I felt a glimpse of joy upon hearing that, but I made sure I had to look firm right now
“Why did you leave your pack?”
She stared at me and this is the first time I saw expression. I saw anger, fear, pain and longing
“It just happened” this woman was testing my patience. I brushed my hand on my hair to lessen my frustrations. I walked towards her and rested my hands on both sides of her while she was sitting. Her face is inches away from mine, and I badly want to kiss her.
“What should I do with you moon?” I asked her with a hoarse voice
“Appoint me as your knight”
