reunion
When Zhou Xingjin emerged from the VIP room, he came face to face with a middle-aged man.
The man paused for a second upon seeing him, then hurriedly put on a smile and extended his hand for a handshake.
"Mr. Zhou! What a coincidence to see you here for dinner?!" he exclaimed.
Although Zhou Xingjin found him somewhat unfamiliar, he still politely shook his hand and nodded faintly. The man was a seasoned socialite in the business world, not hiding his obvious intentions of networking. He warmly invited, "Would you like to join us at our table? We can have a chat together."
His hand gestured through the colorful music restaurant, pointing to a group of people not far away seated around a long table.
Zhou Xingjin casually glanced over at the group, about to decline in his usual manner, when his gaze suddenly froze on a figure clad in a blue shirt nestled in the corner of the group. The figure was both familiar and unfamiliar.
His indifferent eyes flickered for a moment.
"Department dinner?" he inquired nonchalantly.
"Yes, it's not far from our company. We just finished a project today, so I brought them out to celebrate. Didn't expect to run into you here," the man replied eagerly.
"Alright," Zhou Xingjin agreed.
His unexpected acceptance caught the middle-aged man off guard. He hadn't expected such a straightforward response.
The man looked pleasantly surprised and led him towards their department's table. Shen Zhitong sat in the farthest corner, her elbows being nudged excitedly by her female colleague beside her.
"Hey, look who the boss is bringing over?" the colleague whispered.
The surrounding colleagues turned their heads to see Chen Rui leading a man towards their table.
The man was dressed in a well-tailored black suit, exuding an understated elegance.
The suit accentuated his slender figure, and as he walked, his long arms swung gracefully with each step, exuding a calm and relaxed demeanor.
Even in the dimly lit restaurant, his meticulously styled hair framed a handsome and tranquil face.
Several young female colleagues exchanged knowing glances, but Shen Zhitong's expression darkened for a moment, unreadable.
She subtly turned her body, trying to obscure her presence.
Chen Rui reached the head of the table and clapped his hands, raising his voice, "Come on, let me introduce you all."
He pointed to the man beside him and announced, "Zhou Xingjin, Mr. Zhou, CEO of Ansha Group."
Ansha Group... Zhou Xingjin...?
The people at the table collectively drew in a sharp breath.
Ansha Group, a business giant with interests in commerce, culture, real estate, and finance.
The Ansha Shopping Mall, where this music restaurant was located, belonged to their domain.
The name Zhou Xingjin was not unfamiliar in the industry.
The only son of Zhou Xingjing, founder and chairman of Ansha Group, and the current heir to the company. At the age of thirty, he had already made it onto the Forbes global billionaire list. The presence of such a legendary figure at the table instantly created a somewhat tense atmosphere.
Several female colleagues tried to contain their excitement, engaging in hushed conversations with each other.
Chen Rui seated Zhou Xingjin in his original spot and took a seat beside him, introducing him to the team's higher-ranking members with a smile plastered on his face.
Zhou Xingjin listened patiently, nodding politely. Shen Zhitong sat opposite him, separated by seven or eight people, the interior bathed in dim, colorful lights, and the music and chatter drowning out the surroundings.
Since Zhou Xingjin had taken his seat, the colleagues around the table suddenly lost interest in the food on the table, all ears focused on the conversation between their boss and the CEO. Only Shen Zhitong remained focused on her food, never once lifting her gaze from her plate.
