"Well Ms. Sanders, it would be a lie to say I am not impressed, but you have to know this project has been entrusted to us by a highly important client." He commented leaning forward in his seat. "I don't need a good job done, I need a perfect job done. I am not sure if you are up to task. After all your company is new," Mr Smith continued solemnly, looking skeptical. "I can assure you, we will put our heart and soul into this and make sure we do a perfect job, and anyway, with periodic inspection at each phase as I suggested earlier, I am sure we will correct anything that you or the client are dissatisfied with." I quickly reassured him. "Ok, I am convinced, looking forward to your best work," Mr. Smith said and stood up, extending his hand for a handshake." "We will definitely not disappoint you, Mr. Smith," I replied, shaking his hand." He nodded in satisfaction and left the office. "Ahhhhh, Ki, we finally made it," Sia screamed while engulfing me in a bear hug. "Hey don't burst my ear drums, I said while rubbing my ear and pushing her away, but she held on tightly and I shook my head in amusement." "Ki, we finally made it after 3 years of hard work," she said, lying on my shoulder with a melancholic smile. I hugged her back, nodding in agreement. Indeed, it has been three years for our construction company and five years for me. Five years since I left that place, five years since I met my lovely family and five years since I took my life back into my hands. "Let's go and give Mom and Dad the good news." Sia said excitedly before holding my hand and dragging me along with her. I nodded, letting her drag me out of the office as memories of the first time I met them resurfaced in my mind. Sia is my half-sister, and before I met her or my father and stepmother, I didn't know family could be kind, loving and supportive. But after I collapsed that rainy night after finally reaching the human world, the next morning I woke up to the most beautiful thing that could ever happen to me. Flashback The rain poured down heavily on me wetting my severely injured body. I raised my hand and wiped my face, my golden eyes flickered and gazed ahead of me as I kept running. Without giving myself an opportunity to think, I jumped, lightning crackled in time with my jump illuminating the surrounding and me. I shifted into my wolf mid jump and held my breath as my wolf took over. After what felt like a million years I collided with the ground. Crack! The sounds of my bones breaking rang out in the quiet night, quiet because it is not raining in the human world. A content smile appeared on my face, finally I got away and I shifted back before closing my eyes from exhaustion. The next morning I opened my eyes in a hospital. Ahhhhh! I let out a scream when an enlarged face appeared in front of my eyes. "Seriously Dad, move ! I told you will scare her," a feminine voice sounded. Moments later a slender hand pushed the face out of my view then a beautiful girl appeared. "Sorry sis, Dad just looks scary but he is very nice," She said while smiling sheepishly and pushing the man away. The tall masculine man looked at her with an aggrieved expression as he gave up his initial spot. I smiled at his expression and how adorable he looked. "See I told you she will like me better," the girl bragged smugly to the man pointing to my smile. "That's not certain, Ahh! I gasped in pain and interrupted the man. "What are you two doing?" I swear you two can't be left alone in a room, a beautiful woman walked in and reprimanded them both. They both attempted to speak to defend themselves but one glare from the lady made them cower and I laughed at how cute they looked despite the pain. "How are you feeling dear?" the woman turned to me and asked lovingly. I was taken aback by her lovingly tone and seeing my confusion, she explained to me how they were my family. End of flashback Honestly it took me a few day to come into terms with the fact that I have a family in the human world and they loved me. But then the anger set in and I demanded to know why my father left me in the werewolf world with that horrible woman. Why he didn't take me with him and left me to suffer? That's when he explained to me the reality of what had happened . My father and evil mother met at a night club and discovered they are mates. Then they had a one night stand and the next morning she thought he is an omega and framed him for a crime he didn't commit thereby getting him exiled to the human world. And he didn't know she had me till the day I came to the human world and his wolf scented me . That day I exhaled loudly feeling very relieved. Before that moment I didn't know how much my mother's lies weighed me down and having my father debunk them brought a unprecedented sense of relief. Anyway since then I have been living with my new family, where I learned how good family could be. Sia dragged me back to our house and the moment we opened the door, a little ball of fur ran to my arms. I squatted down and picked up the little girl in a bear onesie and hugged her tightly in my arms.
