MATE?

Daisy knew almost instantly what it meant as she grabbed her head from the explosion in her head as a inviting growl sounded from the King at the news if that.

"No, this cannot be happening today. It has to be a dream." she said as her Wolf settled and started purring contended.

"Why must it be a dream?" Eric asked.

She just shook her head, and looked at him. "I cannot find my mate until I change." she said not believing it.

Eric laughed at that, as he knew it was a bold lie. "So not true. Wolves may not be able to, but you are no normal Wolf." he said with a smile as he dished himself some food before he slid the playe they had been reaching for to her.

Daisy looked at him curiously, as she suspected something. "What do you know that I do not?" she demanded and he smiled.

He pulled his phone out of his pocket, and went into the photos he had stored in it before he turned it to her. She gasped as she grabbed it from him, and had she not known better she would have sworn it was her. Nearly every feature was identical tonthe woman in the picture, except for the eyes. This woman had green eyes, Daisy had blue.

"If you are who I think you are, than your mother was one of the fiercest Generals we have seen since War Chief Jessica herself reigned over us all." he said as it seemed to connect the dots for her. Despite no training, she had always been good at tactics and strategy, her courses the only thing the Alpha didn't control and couldn't stop. Education was required of all pupils, including Rogue Orphans.

"You knew my mom?" she asked and he nodded. "Will you tell me about her?" she asked as he chuckled.

"That will take a very long time, and unfortunately there are a few more important things we must discuss as well." he said as she slid the phone back to him disappointed. "I will tell you however, that in the short time I have known you, you remind me of her. She was just as fierce and stubborn as you seem to be." he told her as she smiled. Stubborn was what she had always been called, and the boys in the warrior training had always called her fierce. She was the best trainee their was, and they all knew it. "Since we know you will not be staying here, and we know now we are Mates, what would you like to do?" he asked her.

Daisy shook her head as she took a bite and chewed as she thought for a minute, glad it wasn't an order as she truly hadn't thought of what she was going to do. She always assumed she would run for her life after dinner was served and before the Awakening Ceremony was actually held. "I don't know." she said honestly.

"You know there are always options, right?" he asked as she giggled.

"My plan was to catch the 7:30 bus out of the human section with the money I have managed to hide away." she said as she felt an ache at the thought of leaving him. "As it seems like my beast hates that option now I don't know what I will do." she said as her Wolf began purring again and he smiled at her as there was a knock at the door.

"Enter." Eric said and a man and woman entered the room and bowed to him before shutting the door and walking over to the couch and sitting.

"Whose this?" the blond woman asked curious.

"Why does she smell-" the man began before cutting himself off as his eyes widened in surprise. "No way!" he said excitedly as Eric smiled.

"Trevor, Megan I would like to introduce Daisy. Daisy, this is Trevor my Delta, and Megan my head of security." he said as she shook each of their hands. "How many guards did we bring?" he asked her.

"A dozen, why?" Megan responded narrowing her eyes.

Eric smiled as he looked at her. "You never had the pleasure of meeting General Cristina, did you?" he asked her evading her question.

"No sir, I was 4 when she disappeared." she replied as he showed her the same photo and she did a double take. "We can spare a man from each shift I suppose." she answered after she thought a moment.

"She is my Mate." he replied as both of them looked at him with their mouths opened in shock. Eric had been on the Throne for the last 200 years, and had been waiting for his Mate the entire time. He was jokingly referred to as the most unavailable bachelor in the world because of it.

Megan pulled her phone out, and pushed several buttons before putting it to her ear and ordering 2 dozen more men to be dispatched to their location at once.

"Well, that is most definitely the best thing to happen in a long time." Taylor said as he smiled at her. "What will this do tonthe current plan Majesty?" he asked the King.

"We were just discussing that very thing actually." Eric replied as he looked at Daisy. "I think the first thing we need to do however is prepare for this Awakening Ceremony. Something tells me this Pack is in for one hell of a surprise."

Daisy smiled as she looked at the three Lycans across from her. She didn't know what it was, but for the first time in her life she felt like she was somehow home. "What is wrong with what you are wearing?" she asked as each one of them was more elegantly dressed than she was.

Taylor and Megan chuckled as Eric growled a little surprising them. "You do not own a dress, do you?" he asked her and she shook her head no.

"Oh dear, what do I need to know sir?" Megan asked him.

"She doesn't go anywhere in this Pack without 3 guards." he growled as she nodded.

"For today I think she is close enough to my size she can borrow one of mine. It however means shopping tomorrow." Megan said with a smile as she stood up and offered her hand to Daisy. Her eyes went white for a split second, and Daisy knew she was mind linking someone as Daisy took her hand.

"You can use my card and get her whatever she needs." Eric replied as Megan smiled.

"Just wait Majesty, you will not know what to do tonight." Megan said dragging Daisy behind her as they walked out the door. "With me." she said indicating the two guards at the door.

"Ma'am, are we not assigned-" the one asked as she cut him off.

"Change of plans boys." she said simply as they saw three of the off duty guards coming off the elevator as they walked towards it and got on. "You three guard the King." she said indicating the door they had just left.

Daisy was slightly nervous as the men were much bigger than she was, and made the elevator feel tiny. Megan however was waiting for the doors to open as she bounced on her feet, anxious to get to her room on the floor below the Kings suite.

Megan rushed into the room that was hers and looked at Daisy. "I know we just met, but I am going to promise you one thing, and ask one thing in return." she said nervous glad for once these rooms were soundproofed.

"Ok." Daisy said nervous by how serious she sounded as Megan dropped to one knee.

"I, Megan Stanley, swear on my life that fron this day forth, I shall serve only to protect you and the King. I give you Queen Daisy my undying Fealty, to use as you see fit." she said formally as the Lycan before her bowed her head.

"I accept your oath." Daisy replied knowing that it was somehow the proper response.

"Excellent, now trust me?" Megan asked as she stood and opened the chest that had been brought to her room and started pulling out bathroom products.

"Yes." Daisy replied knowing she actually meant it.

"Good, take those nasty ass clothes off and jump in the shower." Megan said leading the way for her.

It had taken four hours for Megan to be satisfied with the way Daisy looked for her new debut, and Daisy was stunned by what she saw. Gone was the girl who had been a slave, and a strong powerful woman stood in her place. She felt silly as she looked at Megan in what was clearly an expensive dress.

"Won't this just be ruined when I shift?" she asked making Megan laugh.

"No dear, Lycans are different. Your clothes just kind of shift with you." she said not exactly sure how to describe it as they opened the door and the 2 warriors automatically flanked them as they got on the elevator. "The King had to go to the ceremony, as it technically started 10 minutes ago. From what he linked me, the Wolves are slightly miffed you are late." she said laughing not caring one bit.

Daisy joined her in laughing, as did her two new guards. Megan had explained quite a bit to her about what was going to happen, and what her new role would be and what was expected of her. "I imagine Derrik is more than a little perturbed I am late." she said making Megan laugh harder.

"He is not well enough to attend this evening." she said making the guards chuckle. From what they had seen, he would be lucky to be able to walk by morning.

They walked for a few minutes when the came tonthe spot the Pack and most of the Alphas and Lunas from the gathering were waiting for what they had no idea. Normally it started right at 9:30 pm, just as the moon was approaching the pinnacle, and generally 40 minutes before the shift occurred for the first time. Daisy proudly walked on the stage, and as Megan advised ignored the grumbles as the Guards took up positions around the stage as the k

King stood and approached the microphone.

"Welcome to the opening of the Pack Gathering, and a very special Awakening Ceremony few Wolves are ever invited to witness." he began his short speech before he began introducing the new Wolves to the Beta, as they swore allegiance to the Pack and Alpha Derrik. Eric had to keep himself from growling in disgust every time they did. There was only a few minutes left until the moon reached its pinnacle when Megan proudly walked up on the stage to announce the last Wolf who had not been introduced yet.

Gregory was confused, as the King stood there with a smile as Megan mind linked him the plan. Megan however only took the microphone and spoke into.

"Last but absolutely not least, for the first time in her life. It is my pleasure to introduce to you all tonight Daisy Knight, daughter of Cristina." Megan said as she walked proudly to her name as some of the Elder wolves began to mumble about the name this Lycan had used. None of them dared challenge her however as Daisy knelt facing between the King and Gregory, Beta of the Gray Dawn Pack.

"I Daisy Knight, swear my Allegiance to the Royal Pack. From this day forth Ibswear I shall obey all orders and commands of Lycan King Eric." she said formally as there was an exclamation of shock from the entire Gray Dawn Pack as he looked at her.

"I accept your oath and welcome you to the Lycan Pack." King Eric announced loudly for them all to hear before she stood carefully and walked to join the others. She was forced to stand next to Chastity, who did not practice her name and was her biggest bully.

"Lucky you didn't stick around b***h. I would have made your life hell" she whispered so no one could hear her snide comment.

"Good thing I never planned it that way than huh." Daisy side wiping the smirk from her face. "Plus when this night is over, if you ever dare speak to me this way again, Inwill rip out your tongue." she finished before all if them doubled over in pain as the shift began. It wasn't as painful as she feared, as she went to one knee and closed her eyes as her bodied popped and cracked as her beast forced it's way forward for the first time in what seemed to her like seconds before she was standing up. She looked down, and Chastity was curled intonthe Feral position as she screamed as her body did the same thing.

The noises through the crowd caught her attention as she turned and looked at them all. They seemed much smaller to her, as she lifted her chin and released the first howl of the night when the smell hit her and she looked at the King who was mid shift. "Mine." her beast said as soon as he finished and walked towards her.

"Mate." the King said is reply, before they touched their heads together as another gasp went the the gathered Alphas and the Gray Dawn Pack.
