Daisy forced the two to stop as Alpha Derrik was lashed to the top ring of the post, and was held off the ground by several inches before he walked tonthe exact spot that Alpha Derrik had stood so many times. "Alpha Derrik, you stand accused of attempting to whip a child with silver against Royal Decree 1185. How do you plead?" King Eric demanded loudly as he dropped his aura so the members of his Pack could watch. "Guilty." he answered knowing it would be pointless to lie and drag it out to the Alphas Summit. This way he only had to conceal the welts as he had seen the first one hadn't broken the skin. "Very well, you are hereby sentenced to 20 lashes." he said as the gasps from the crowd as the King Shifted to his Lycan sounded. "Sentence to be carried out immediately." Nykel said with a gravely voice as Alpha Derrik shuddered before the first crack of the whip sounded. It was like a gunshot had gone off in the center of the square, and the line across the back of the Alpha that sprayed blood for several feet appeared. Derrik felt the impact drive the air from his lungs, as it felt like he had been shot again before the burning pain of the silver shot through his body. Despite his strength, he screamed as he began writhing on the post trying to contain himself. He had been whipped by his father before, but never had he experienced something like that when he felt the second impact and than the searing pain as the second did the same. Each crack of the whip left a new gash that was atleast six inches long, the longest covered the entire length of his back from his left shoulder to his right hip. The King was deadly accurate with each of his strikes, ensuring a new are of flesh was exposed with each lash. The wounds were deep, as the strength of the Lycan was able to speed the whip much faster than any Wolf had ever dreamed of. It was why Lycans did not use whipping as a punishment. When King Eric reached 15, the whip actually split in two, and the scream of agony as it wrapped around his chest leaving a gash the entire way splot the village as the wave of pain was felt by the entire Pack. He waited until the screams stopped and he motioned to the two who had restrained him. "Since his instrument of punishment has now destroyed itself, take him down and summon the doctor." King Eric ordered them as a woman and man rushed forward. As soon as he was on the ground they began to examine the Alpha as he trembled in pain as each gash oozed badly while his Wolf tried desperately to heal them through the silver taint. They gave him a shot in the neck with a powerful drug, and one of them began casting magic to heal him wounds. As soon as a growl from the King sounded, the healer stopped. "I said doctor, not healer. No magic shall be used to save him from a single ounce of his punishment whilst I am here." King Eric growled before he turned and marched away. He hadn't made it more than two steps when he saw the girl he had rescued smiling at what she had witnessed. He was not entirely surprised she had managed to make the Warriors stop and allow her to watch. "Fine, escort me to my room. I need to change. Have someone find me some appropriate attire." he ordered the two Warriors who bowed to him and lead them to the Pack House. Daisy had never been inside the actual Pack House, as it was a seperate building from the Dinkng Hall where her quarters were. Since she was 10 and the old cook had died, that had been her responsibility. She was amazed when they got to the top floor, and there were only two doors. She knew the one was the Alpha suite, but had no idea the other was just as extravagant as it was a guest room for other Alphas and high ranking dignitaries. "Guard the door." the King ordered the one who remained, who nodded in response before the King ushered her in and closed the door behind him. "What's your name?" he asked her having an idea as he knew his cousin well. She had always said she would name her first daughter Daisy. "Daisy your Majesty. It was inscribed on the blanket they found me in." she answered nervously as he walked into the bathroom as he chuckled a little. "Well Daisy, as your beast will awaken tonight, you do have the option of joining this-" "I would sooner die than swear allegiance to this Alpha and stay." she said bluntly cutting him off from finishing his statement which made him laugh a little more. They no longer experienced the torment when they shifted for the first time, but Lycans were known to speak their mind. No matter who they were speaking too. "Why did you say beast?" she asked him bluntly. King Eric laughed a little as he turned the shower on and stepped in to wash the blood away. "That is a long story Daisy, and one I will gladly tell you. But you need to know a few things before we get into all of that. If you will give me a few minutes we can talk. In the meantime make yourself comfortable, and order us something from the kitchen." he said making her smile. She knew this would infuriate the Pack, as she had trained no one on how to replace her. She atleast had 4 years close tutelage under the previous cook, so knew the recipes. She had long ago memorized and burned them so they would be lost once she left. "I will order from one of the restaurants." she replied knowing there was no one in the kitchens who could actually cook. The few restaurants in the village were Human chefs, and they had their own section of the village they lived in. She sat on the couch and grabbed the phone, dialing the number of the diner her best friend worked at. She was human, the only ones who didn't care she was an Orphan. The order was placed, and told which room in the Pack House had ordered it. She had used King Eric's name to ensure it would be allowed. She sat there uncomfortably, waiting for the King to come out when one of the two warriors walked. "If that is my clothing bring it into the bathroom before you return to your guard post. My security team will arrive within an hour, younwill stand post until they arrive." he instructed without waiting for a response as the warrior entered the bathroom before quickly departing. It was 10 more minutes before he walked out of the bathroom, and he was surprised she was sitting there stiff as a board. "How long until food arrives?" he asked her. "I could call down and see if there are any cinnamon buns left, but the cook is otherwise engaged and not currently available to fix anything." she said matter of factly as the King looked a little surprised. "What is more important?" King Eric asked her. So she stood up and walked toward the door when he stopped her. "No one said you could leave, sit." She walked back to the chair she had been in and plopped down. "I can't go cook if you won't let me." she said with a sly smile as he recoiled. "You are the cook?" he asked as his voice took on a menacing edge as she nodded. "How long?" he demanded to know. "I began as the Assistant 10 years ago today, and have been the head chef for the last 6." she informed him as he covered his mouth to prevent the gasp from coming out of his mouth. He was outraged at what she had been through, as he knew this was one of the largest Packs on this side of the Nation. He also knew it was very much against the laws that they lived by, as child labor was forbidden to such an extent. "Why do you care Majesty, is this not how it is for all Orphans?" she asked as she was the only one in the Pack until those two arrived this morning. "No." he growled as he looked at her and brought his anger under control. "In fact their are strict laws against this sort of treatment." he told her as she smiled. "Good, perhaps that beating you gave him today will be a painful reminder to him than." she said as the King looked at her confused. "If what you are saying is true, than that little bit of pain is not his punishment for that. We have laws against making Orphans Slaves, even if they are Rogue." he said as he knew tje Rogues were judged harshly before they had a chance. It was not automatic that they inherited it from their parents, as they were weighed by the Moon Goddess on the day they changed. More than one had been accepted by Packs when they shifted and were not deemed Rogue. "Than I will not be pressing charges. What he suffered today begins to make amends for what he has done. Now he must live with the scars to remind him of what it costs to break the rules." she said stubbornly as there was a knock and the door opened. "We have a delivery for King Eric." the warrior said before he opened the door and the way and her best friend Katie walked in carrying two bags of hot food. She set them on the table when she turned and saw Daisy sitting in the chair and squealed a little bit. "What are you doing here?" she asked. "Long story, will have to tell you later." Daisy said with a sad smile. She knew there wouldn't be a later, because if she stayed Derrik would definitely kill her now. She know only the King protected her. "I am going to hold you to that." she said as King Eric handed her a $100 gold coin. "This is far too much sir." Katie said as he waved his hand. "It is that or a 500." he said firmly as Katie stopped herself from giggling. "Consider it a small gesture of thanks for being her friend." Katie smiled as she looked at Daisy. "Did you hear about Derrik?" she asked Daisy who nodded. "I got to see it too." she said with a smile. "Gotta run babe, see you later. Majesty, thank you." Katie replied before she hurried out the door. "What is going to happen to me?" Daisy asked him bluntly as the door closed again. "Well as you have said you are not staying here, I assume you will return to the Lycan Pack with me. It however is not a requirement." Eric replied as he walked over to the food and invited her to sit with him. "What was your plan?" he asked her. Daisy walked over to the table, surprised by the invitation. She sat across from him, and as they went to reach for the same thing, their hands brushed for just a moment as she felt a tingling sensation jump up her arm as he beast went crazy in her head.
