The Omegas Painful Decision

The first shift

*3 months later*

*Ararsi*

These past 3 months have flown by. I graduated high school. The Alpha and Luna came to the ceremony, as well as Kyle. My father even flew in from wherever he was to attend. He didn't stay long though. Just long enough to take me out to dinner after with Kyle. It wasn't much, but I loved it. It was so nice to see my father. It's been at least 8 months since I saw him last.

I'm finally free to pursue what I love. The Alpha allowed me to get a job outside of the pack even though I haven't turned 18 yet, and I am working at a local news station as the receptionist. Not what I wanted but we all have to start somewhere. My 18th birthday is in 2 days and Kyle wants to take me to dinner. I agreed, and I chose a Japanese style restaurant. I thought it was too expensive, but Kyle insisted that nothing was too expensive for me. He has been acting more and more strange as I get closer to my birthday. I could have sworn he tried to kiss me the other night in the dining hall. He says he needs to tell me something, but it has to wait until my birthday. That's only 2 days. I can wait. I wonder what he wants to tell me..

*Kyle*

Ararsi is almost 18. I can't wait to tell her that I'm in love with her and want to take her as my Luna. I'm hoping the Moon Goddess is kind to me and makes her my second chance. She will make an excellent Luna to this pack. My wolf Rambo can't wait to meet her wolf. I'm sure she will be as beautiful as she is.

It's getting harder and harder to control myself. I almost kissed her in the dining hall the other day. Her laugh was just so beautiful, and the smell of coffee and brownies are just intoxicating. She noticed my slip up and moved back. Just 2 more days. Just 2 more days until I can tell her I love her at my favorite 5 star Japanese restaurant.

*2 days later*

*Ararsi*

"It's almost midnight!!" I think to myself. Kyle said the first shift is painful. He asked me if I wanted him by my side, but I said I was fine. I want to meet my wolf and go for a run. He didn't seem happy, but I assured him I would see him for dinner. At 11:58 I run outside the first floor doors and past the trees. I put a bag of spare clothes on a nearby tree branch.

"Hello Ararsi. It is a pleasure to finally meet you. I am your wolf. My name is Liana."

It's her! Liana is her name! I am so overjoyed to finally meet her!

"Hi Liana!! I am so excited to finally meet you! I can't wait to see what you look like!" I think excitedly.

"I'll make your first shift as painless as possible. Just think of a wolf and I'll take over from there." I do what she says. I think of a wolf, my mother's wolf. With that, I feel the painful breaking and dislocation of bones. I hear a howl, and I realize it came from me! The pain subsidies and I look down at my feet, which are now big paws! Black paws, like my mother's! But my fur is snow white. I need to see my reflection. I realize I don't know where the nearest body of water is. I sniff the air and listen and hear a frog croak.

I run to the sound, loving the feeling of the wind on my fur. The feeling of the breeze is something I cannot describe. It is so freeing. The feeling of the grass and dirt under my paws is magical. I feel one with the Moon Goddess herself. I make it to the water and look down. My fur is snow white with black tipped ears and paws. My eyes are staring back at me. Not my usual hazel, but sapphire blue. I can't believe how beautiful Liana is. I sit by the water for a moment, thinking of my mother. My wolf looks like her. She was not white though, but silver. I sit there for a little while, lost in my own thoughts. I realize it must be getting late, so I run back to the tree where my clothes are hanging and shift back. That was so freeing, and I can't wait to go with Liana again for a run. I rush back to my room and undress for a shower. I stand under the water letting it run over my body. I can't wait to get some sleep and dream of my time with Liana. It was amazing.
