26 MID-AUGUSTThe key slid into the lock to the file room; Madie turned it and opened the door. She slipped inside and headed to the designated cabinet that housed financials. Pulling open the first drawer, her brows shot up. Empty? She moved down to the middle drawer and the third. “What the hell?” They were all bare. She checked the other cabinets to find them untouched. She marched out of the room and down the hallway to Patricia’s office.
