Gina, however, had other ideas. Not long after they’d returned from dinner, Gina danced back into Cam’s room from wherever she spent her evenings. She bounced down onto the bunk where Cam had been quietly reading. “Did you miss me today?” she asked. Cam folded the upper corner of the page down to mark her place as she closed the book. As she turned to talk to Gina, Gina leaned into her and planted a long wet kiss on her mouth. “Doesn’t matter,” Gina continued without giving Cam time to speak. She lowered her voice. “I missed you. I got you a present. We can have a party.” From her back pocket, Gina pulled a small packet of white powder. “Where’d this come from?” Cam asked. “Better you don’t know where it comes from. It’ll be safer,” Gina whispered, sliding the packet inside the pillow
