Jujutsu

Alyra slept in and missed breakfast. She ran as fast as she could to the studio, and Sam was waiting for her. Sam asked Alyra "did you eat breakfast?" Alyra said "I landed up sleeping in and missed breakfast". Sam told her to go to the kitchen and Mama will get you some breakfast.

Alyra went to the kitchen scared to ask Mama for breakfast. Mama said "we missed you for breakfast sweetie, what happened?" Alyra told Mama "I slept in, I really don't feel that good". Mama touched Alyra forehead and notice she has a fever. Mama said "you have a fever maybe you should go see the doctor". Alyra replied "I can't Sam has already been waiting for me long enough". Mama said "Well you will go after dinner and see the doctor, and if the weasel gives you any trouble I will deal with him, okay sweetie". Alyra said "okay I will, and thanks for breakfast Mama". Mama smiled and said "anytime deary".

Alyra finally reached the studio, Sam has been waiting over an hour for her.

Sam said "are you ready to begin?" Alyra said "yes, and sorry for being late". Sam smiled and said "Its okay It happens, lets talk about Jujutsu".

"Jujutsu is manipulating the opponent's force against themselves rather than confronting it with one's own force. Striking against an armored opponent proves ineffective, people learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker's energy against him, rather than directly opposing it".

"Do you understand so far Alyra?" Alyra nodded yes.

"Jujutsu use all forms of grappling techniques to some degree like throwing, trapping, joint locks, holds, gouging, biting, disengagements, striking, and kicking".

"Basic methods of attack include hitting or striking, thrusting or punching, kicking, throwing, pinning or immobilizing, strangling, and joint locking. Which you have learned between Dave and Caleb. Great pain was also developed as a effective method of defense, including parrying or blocking strikes, thrusts and kicks, receiving throws or joint locking techniques like falling safely and knowing how to blend to neutralize a technique's effect, releasing oneself from an enemy's grasp, and changing or shifting one's position to evade or neutralize an attack".

Sam said to Alyra "are you good so far on what I just told you?" Alyra nodded yes.

Sam says "I have fake katanas like our real ones, I want you to block and attack with your Katanas while I will try striking you down, shall we practice". Alyra said "yes".

After 5 hours straight practicing Sam said "lets go for some dinner, and pick up later where we left off". Alyra told Sam she isn't feeling well today, and Sam checked her forehead and notice also she had a fever. Sam told Alyra "why didn't you say something earlier?" Alyra said "I didn't want to get you mad at me". Sam said "I will never ever get mad at you for not feeling well, after dinner you go and see the doctor and get checked out". Alyra said "yes she will".

They left the studio and headed for the kitchen. Sam and Alyra entered the kitchen and sat down at the table near Caleb and Alex. Mama made homemade chicken soup with grill cheese sandwiches. Alyra started eating but felt really nauseous, she stopped eating and left the kitchen quick. Caleb asked Sam "what is wrong with Alyra?" Sam said "she isn't feeling well and never told me, I know she has a fever".

Caleb went and checked on Alyra to the closes bathroom to the kitchen. He hear her throwing up in the toilet and crying. Caleb open the door and said "Its okay Alyra sometimes we get sick". He grabbed a face cloth added cold water, and start rubbing her cheeks and face off.

Caleb brought her to the doctor, and told him what was going on with Alyra. The doctor said "she must have caught the flu, it has been going around a lot in the area". He gave Caleb some Tylenol to give her for the fever plus some gravel to settle her stomach, and told Caleb to make sure she stays hydrated.

Caleb brought Alyra back to her room and gave her the gravel, and Tylenol with a glass of water. He told Alyra "now get some rest and you won't be training until you are better, I am telling Sam what is going on also. So don't worry about your training just get better".

Caleb went back to the kitchen and told Sam that Alyra caught the flu, and that they need to keep an eye on her. Caleb even told Sam the doctor gave him Tylenol and gravel she needs to take also. Sam agreed and looked at Mama. Mama said "listen little toad stools you better take good care of her, or you will find your precious jewels pickled in a jar the next morning on your nightstands". Sam and Caleb looked at each other like a scared deer and left the kitchen.

They checked on Alyra often, but she slept most of the day.
