Weapons Training Part 6

Today I am going to explain about Samurai sword and Jujutsu a bit and some moves which is tied to your training with Caleb.

"Now Samurai swords like the Katana were develop from the tachi, with a new big twist, the Katana was worn with the cutting edge up, allowing for a swift and easy draw of the sword and attacking in one single motion. This sword’s popularity came about because of the changing techniques in close combat warfare. The goal of using these Samurai swords is to allow the user to draw and strike the enemy in one fluid motion. The victory of the Samurai sword lies in his/her quickness in responding to a fight".

"Swords like these can cut through silk when it is drop on the blade. The truth is that Japanese swords can slice objects when the blade is pulled across the target. This can chop other swords into two. The fact is that any sword can be hit by a hard target in the wrong angle and can break however, chopping will not be able to cut the sword in half".

"Do you understand so far, Alyra?" Alyra replied "yes".

Sam showed Alyra her new swords, "these are yours" Sam said to Alyra. These swords are Ten Ryu Hand Forged Samurai Katanas, with your double dragon leather cord wrapped handles and adjustable leather backstrap. "Whatever you do never lose them Alyra, we only get one set each". Sam goes on to say.

"Now proper maintenance for your Katanas. If these Samurai swords are not properly stored this can damage the swords beyond repair. It is therefore essential to store the blade horizontally in its sheath. The curve must be place down with the edge facing up".

"Do you understand?" Alyra says "yes".

"Oiling, powdering and polishing is needed to keep the blade from falling into rust. The use of choji oil is necessary since this oil has the right ingredients to protect the blade from rust. If the sword is stored for a long period of time it is essential to inspect it frequently and air it from time to time to prevent mold and rust from damaging it".

"Here is your oil, and powder for your Katanas, I will show you how to oil, powdering and polishing your swords". Sam said to Alyra.

"Samurai swords have remain to be perfect examples of beauty and skillful engineering. Not all kinds of swords can have the power to pierce and s***h. This makes these swords highly versatile weapon in battle and out of it".

You will also be taught about poison Alyra, some jobs just require poisoning our targets instead of a bullet, using a knife, or combat.

"Have any questions so far Alyra?" Sam said. Alyra said "I'm good".

Sam said "Lets go for dinner and we will continue after dinner, I have giving you a lot of information".

Sam and Alyra walked into the kitchen. Mama said "Well our little one has arrived," with a big smile on her face. Mama looked at Sam and said "come on weasel your late for dinner," Alyra giggled.

Everyone sat down, and Alyra told Caleb "Sam gave me katanas today they look really beautiful, and showed me how to keep them clean and sharp". Caleb said "Really! and what color are your swords?" Mine are blue. Alyra replied "mine are black", and Alyra continued to eat.

After dinner Sam, Caleb, and Alyra made their way to the studio. Sam says "lets talk about poisons".

"We use venom extracted from puffer fish and opium. Poisons could be used to poison water supplies and food".

"One of the organic poisons we use is made from common fruit. Cyanide is extracted from a variety of sources, such as apple seeds, plum seeds, cherries seeds and many more".

"Tomato and rhubarb leaves also hold a poison. Eating the leaves cause cardiac problems, ultimately resulting in cardiac arrest".

"The amanita phalloides is a deadly mushroom. The poison in the mushroom is 10 times more powerful than that of cyanide. Eating the mushroom is certain death, and it easy to slip a piece of the mushroom in almost any meal".

"Another thing we do is dip our knives in the poison. So when it punctures the skin of our targets, the fast acting poison would take its course, causing much more devastating than the blade itself. Poison is never directly added to Katanas as it would increase mold growth around the blade, blunting and weakening the blade. We usually only use the poison on our knives or throwing knives".

"I will show you the poison room, and how to extract and apply poison to your knives", Sam said.

Sam took Alyra to the poison room and showed her all the different kinds of poison they use, and where she will use them. He also showed her how to apply the poison to blades on knives, and how to remove the poison from blades safely without harming herself.

Sam turned to Alyra and said "I think I gave you enough information today, we will talk about Jujutsu tomorrow. So have a good rest and see you tomorrow in the studio". Alyra thanked and hugged Sam for the swords, and went to her room for the night.
