The daily quests depend on the person you choose to be. They will help you earn experience points on a daily basis and also help you get used to the world. The system store is the place where you can find anything. It has a fixed rate for items and you can exchange them with experience points as said before. The rarer or more important the item is, the more experience points are needed. The system concluded while Mia took a mental note of it. Can I go to the system store now? Because you are a soul right now, you can't enter the store but it will be available as soon as you transmigrate. Oh! Well... What do we do now? Mia questioned running out of topics to speak about. Now, we wait. The system responded promptly, making Mia roll her eyes. System, Are there a lot of systems like yours? She asked after two minutes of silence. Analyzing the data, there are about 1,173,420 systems in this universe for now. Wow! That's a LOT. Then there would be as many hosts, right? There are 843,620 active hosts at the moment. The system answered without any fluctuation in its voice. Active? Mia questioned. Yes, host. But if you are asking about the total number of hosts there are and have been, then it's 94,326,735,693,415- Ok, ok I get it. Mia interrupted since the system didn't seem like it would stop any moment now. Anyway, what I want to do- Bing! A notification popped up out of nowhere, startling Mia, making her pause for a moment. Oh, god! Could you NOT do that? Mia muttered, easing her uneasy heart. Ignoring her words blatantly, the system continued- Host, the head system found a few suitable people why don't you check them out first? Mia rolled her eyes before clicking on the notification. Dear host of System 773, Here are the resumes of the people compatible with your soul. Please check them carefully and send the message back via system 773. Best regards, Soul research and analysis team. Resumes? Why does it sound like I am hiring someone? Mia scoffed as she continued to read the message. Soul research and analysis team? What's that? The Soul research and analysis team is a group of specialized systems that travel across time and space to research on souls. The system promptly answered yet again, as if it anticipated her question. Okay... Well, can you show me those err- resumes? Mia muttered. There was a slightly awkward pause when she said resume but the system skillfully ignored that. A new screen appeared in front of her. At present, there are 7 entries. If nothing catches your eyes, then we will have to wait again until the head system provides us with new entries. If you select a person here, you have no way to change it again. Although it might take a while, please select carefully. The system cautioned her, who nodded in response. Looking at the names written in order, she clicked the first option and another window opened. There was a picture of a girl with blonde hair and green eyes which startled Mia because they were very eye-catching and abnormal in her city. She scrolled down a little to find information about her. Name Olivia Merchant. The name did have a good ring to it. Age: 23. And age is a lot less than mine. A total of 6 years. That's a good point too. Occupation: Healer. OK, occupation heal- Wait! what! Healer? H E A L E R? Mia pointed at the screen in total bewilderment. Don't tell me- She muttered in horror. As she scrolled down even further. There it was in all its glory. World: Khisfire (Fantasy world with demons and monsters) Nope! Definitely a big No! Mia spoke as she exited the window. She had been faint-hearted and introverted since young. Heck, she didn't even have friends in her school days. And hopping into a fantasy world was definitely out of the question. She looked at the next name. Nate Miller. Nate? As in Guy Nate? Or girl Nate? Mia tapped the name and the window popped up. A guy with brown hair and black eyes was standing with a sunny smile. Well, that was a short one- She muttered before exiting the window. She didn't feel comfortable being a guy since all these years she was a girl. She was more accustomed to being a girl. If she had another life, maybe then she would try to be a guy. Who knows? Amelia Martin. Mia looked at it for a moment before clicking it open. There stood a girl with brown hair and honey-colored eyes, probably the most beautiful out of the people she had seen in her life. Or maybe that was just her type of beauty. Name Amelia Martin. Age: 22. Again, a younger girl. Occupation: housewife. Wait, is she married? She is still too young. I was 29 and still single. Mia thought with a surprised expression. Spouse: Liam Brown (On verge of divorce) Divorce too? Wow. Kids: Ria Martin and Lucas Martin (Twins, 1-year-old) Well... I don't think this is for me. I cannot handle a cat, let alone a kid. Mia muttered, exiting the window. Mason Smith. She looked at the next option. Lavender Emerson. Why did I think of lavender brown? Shaking her head, she clicked it open. A good-looking girl with curly hair. And her resume was quite simple too. Aged 28. The only problem was that her occupation was a doctor. And Mia, being a fashion designer, definitely didn't want to play with life. The next was Lily Garcia. Aged 35 and married. That was enough for Mia to exit. The next was- Mia widened her eyes in disbelief. Was this even a name? ¶°µ>Just great! Mia thought sarcastically. System, if I reject these, when will the next batch of resumes come? Mia questioned. It would take a while, like a year or two host because they have to search all over the universe to find your match. The system answered while Mia fell silent. What should she do? She didn't want to be a boy nor did she want to be married. She definitely cannot be a doctor or an alien or run around in a fantasy world. The only option was that girl. Amelia. At least she was young and had hope for a divorce. But the problem is she has two kids? How can she raise kids? She never even went near one. Host, the system will help you learn how to take care of them. That can also be included in daily quests to help you get accustomed to them. The system spoke while Mia fell silent again. The concept of kids was farfetched to her. All she did in her life was concentrate on work, work, and work. Kids... Should she really take this risk? But the only problem with Amelia was her kids. Everything else was good enough. Should she? System I need some time to think it over. Can I? Mia questioned. Of course, host. Do tell me your decision as soon as you are finished. The system went silent, giving Mia the necessary space to think. It took a lot of time for Mia to decide. Since she will probably be living as Amelia for as long as she is alive. This was very important. If she rejects everyone, who knows when she will get the next match. But this is a very unreliable method. Can't the head system find more people beforehand? Mia's dissing session was interrupted by the system. Host, they need to find a compatible body for your soul. And this is really rare. We cannot just insert you into any random body. If we do that, you will receive a backlash. It can range from memory loss to actually losing part of the soul. Listening to the system's reason, Mia went silent again. After contemplating for a long time, she finally decided to transmigrate into Amelia. It's just raising kids... What could go wrong? Mia dismissed the thought and informed the system. Alright, host. Here is Amelia Martin's past and additional information regarding her. I just sent the message to the head system. Please prepare yourself to transmigrate as soon as you finish reading. The system notified Mia, who looked at the screen in front of her in concentration. Amelia Martin, daughter of Noah and Vanessa Martin (Died when she was 5). She was raised by her grandfather, Robert Martin, with a lot of care. She was a rich young woman before she decided to abandon her grandfather and run away with a young man named Liam brown (Please check the additional information clipped at the end). Amelia and Liam were dating from their high school days. They married at age 19 after running away. Everything was going well until Liam started his own business. They struggled a lot for a year. At the same time, Amelia found out she was pregnant. She gave birth at the age of 20. And two years later, Liam, on his family's insistence, decided to divorce her. Heartbroken, she didn't want to live anymore. As soon as Mia read the short paragraph on Amelia Martin she felt like coughing blood. What the hell? This is her past? Is the system kidding me? This is obviously a third-rate dog blood drama with a lot of plot holes. I mean, if the grandfather is so rich why didn't he search for her? And why did this guy, Liam, just leave her like that? If he was so gullible, why did he even run away with her? And why does she not want to live anymore? Mia scoffed at that. Thankfully, she was a spirit, or else she would have a headache by now. Then proceeded to read the additional information. This world is actually a novel written by author XXX. Willaim Brown, the male lead and older brother of Liam Brown, is the supporting character, and a trouble-making brother. In the story, to make the male lead look responsible, the author made Liam Brown a trouble maker. The male lead and his family search for Liam after his disappearance and find out that he got married and started a business that didn't look profitable. So the male lead pursued him into getting a divorce because he felt his brother was too young to understand what he did and he felt that Liam would regret marrying Amelia in the future, so he was just saving his brother. It was also specified in the novel that the female lead also tries to reason with him by saying they married too young. With all the pressure from his parents, brother, and unprofitable business, Liam finally decided to divorce Amelia. Mia was bewildered. Are people like this these days? So- So unreasonable. And the author too. Just because the male lead should show the trait of being responsible, a lot of people had to become scapegoats. She let out a deep sigh. Well, at least it doesn't matter to her since she doesn't have any problem with getting a divorce. It took her a few moments to process everything and contemplate. Sighing for the nth time, Mia felt mentally drained from all that information. Was she really doing that? Out of all the options, she selected Amelia, whose life turned out to be even more dramatic than the rest of them which she was trying to avoid. Coincidence? My foot! I hope you made the right choice, Mia. I hope you are completely sure. She spoke to herself as she sighed yet again. Host, are you ready to go? The system spoke while Mia paused. Host you know you cannot regret it now, right? The system questioned Mia, who just bit her lips in response. Host? I know, I know. I am ready. Just as these words left her mouth, Mia felt a pull on her and everything darkened. ~.~
