Mia felt a searing pain in her head. She felt unnatural and fidgety. Her stomach churned. The peaceful silence in the space shattered at once with a deafening clap. She, for one, couldn't comprehend her current situation and could only concentrate on breathing. The feeling of wind caressing her skin. Her hair annoyingly fell on her forehead. The sound of her heart beating in her chest. She was alive... Once again. And this realization made her weak in her knees. Her lips quivered. Blinking her eyes, she tried to get rid of her spotty vision. The bright chandelier lights, glowing tiles, grand sofas glared at her outright. Having no idea about the situation at hand, Mia quickly prompted the system, ignoring her growing headache. Too-too-too-too-toooooom! Too-too-too-toom! Too-too-too-toooooo-toooooo-toom! Congratulations Host! For successfully transmigrating into Amelia Martin. How do you feel now? She would have felt a lot better but the trumpet sound that the system was playing in her head right now was NOT helping. Ding! Mission: Completely binding with the system - Completed (Click here for more information) Reward - 10 experience points. Mia, or rather, Amelia, looked at the notification floating in front of her. With a slight pause, she glanced at her surroundings. Three men wearing all black like those of bodyguards were standing not too far away from her but not too close to hear her conversation. It seems no one can see this. Amelia thought to herself. As we already mentioned, hosts, to not make things awkward for hosts all over the world, the system always tries to bring out new and advanced technology. The system proudly gloated around while Amelia just rolled her eyes at that and tapped on to the notification. Mission: Completely binding with the system. Task - Agree to the terms and conditions of the head system (✅) - 5 EPs Select a person to transmigrate into (✅) - 2 EPs Successful transmigration (✅) - 3 EPs It was pretty easy to interpret without anything complex, just like how she read in novels. This kind of familiarity eased her mind a bit. So this is how the missions work? Do the daily quests you talk about be the same as this? Amelia questioned. No host the daily quests will be given to you from tomorrow. Since they are daily quests, you must complete them every day or there will be a penalty. It could be taking away experience points or something you need the most at that time. So I urge you to complete them for sure. Meanwhile, missions are triggered by daily actions. They appear suddenly. They also give a lot of experience points at once, so if you ever trigger one, you are considered lucky. There are also core missions that can change the future from what it was. The system patiently explained while Amelia widened her eyes in realization. So it's like this- She bobbed her head when she noticed the table in front of her. On it were pieces of paper. More specifically, torn pieces of paper. She picked one of the pieces to see the letters DIVO. For much easier interpretation, it should be divorce papers. Ding! Triggered core mission. Task - Proceeded with the divorce - ( ) 50 EPs It went without saying. She would divorce for sure. Amelia thought, rolling her eyes. The bodyguards looked at her with narrowed eyes before looking at each other. They all seem to be thinking the same thing. The second young master's wife had finally lost it. They couldn't understand. One moment she was crying and tearing the divorce papers like a mad woman, then she was smiling, looking at nothing and now she seemed to be thinking something. One of the bodyguards whispered to the middle one. "John, the first young master, ordered us to make sure she signed the divorce papers before leaving but she tore them up. What should we do now?" He sighed while the other frowned. "I think we should inform him." The one at the end spoke. The bodyguard named John dialed in Liam's brother, aka, the male lead William's number. "Hello. Boss, the lady tore up the papers and she seemed a bit out of it. What do we do now?" He spoke, turning towards the wall. The other two looked at Amelia, who finally had the time to pay attention to them. She pressed her lips in a straight line. Where am I system? She questioned. Host, right now you are in the novel's male lead's house. He called Amelia here to discuss the terms of divorce with her. But had to leave in the middle because the female lead got into trouble. And as you can see, it ended up like this. Amelia clicked her tongue in annoyance. She rubbed the wetness on her cheeks with the back of her hand. After making sure she was all clean, she approached the three bodyguards just in time to overhear one of them speak- "What should we do now?" "Excuse me?" She muttered. Her voice, mellow but firm, caught the attention of the person talking on the phone. "Can I speak to your boss?" She questioned, her almond eyes raised slightly and her tone demanding an answer. Amelia herself was surprised at that. Well, as a rich lady, she must have been used to ordering around, she concluded. John, the bodyguard, stared at Amelia for a moment. "Boss, the lady wants to talk to you." He muttered in a daze. The other side went silent for a moment. William had to head back to the company due to the conflict between his directors and the female lead. This was getting out of hand. One side was his love, the other side was his money. He cannot risk either of them leaving. After resolving the problem between them and comforting his girlfriend, s***h PA, he was about to sigh in relief when John, his bodyguard, called him regarding his little brother's wife. Thinking about that crazy woman his brother married bought spams of pain in his head. Life already had too much drama stored in for him. Now this crazy woman was just a cherry on top. He got to know that she tore the divorce papers and was thinking about how to make her sign the new ones when a voice interrupted his train of thoughts. It was mellow and soothing to hear. It took him a minute to recognize this voice belonged to that crazy woman. Impossible. The next sentence shattered his delusion. He contemplated whether it was wise to speak to Amelia or directly meet her at court. Pondering for a whole minute, he decided to talk. "Give it to her." He spoke, returning to his usual cold voice. "Hello?" Amelia greeted him while William paused for a second. "Speak." He uttered without beating around the bush thankfully. Amelia rolled her eyes. The cold voice fits his persona of 'the cold CEO'. "I will sign the divorce but I have a few conditions." She replied. "What?" William was dumbfounded for a moment. He expected her to demand something like 'I want to talk to Liam' or 'I will never divorce. Not even over my dead body.' etc. "Are you serious? Y- You will sign the divorce? I hope you know your little antics won't work on me. Whether you like it or not, I could make you sign the divorce." William threatened, while Amelia frowned. She did not like his tone. "Here I am telling you I am ready to sign the divorce. I just have some conditions. Then why are you so hell-bent on threatening me?" Amelia questioned calmly, while William frowned. He still couldn't bring himself to believe her. She could be planning something. He put his thoughts aside for a moment. "Well, what are your conditions?" He asked, while Amelia paused. Keeping in the background and circumstances in mind, she did have a rough set of conditions, but it would be better to consult with the system first before saying it. And it is much better to say it face to face than on a call. "About that, I will say them tomorrow in the presence of my lawyer," Amelia spoke with a smile while William's frown deepened. How come this woman suddenly has a brain? And her way of talking is different from how she used to. If it wasn't her voice, which he recognized, he would think he was talking with someone else entirely. "It's nothing you can't do," Amelia added, while William sighed inwardly. Should he go along with her? But if he can settle it by talking, it would save him the time he would have to spend in court. Weighing the pros and cons in his mind, he finally decided to meet her. "I have already recorded this conversation, so you cannot go back on your word," he warned. "Yeah, I won't," Amelia uttered, rolling her eyes and cut the call. She gave it back to John, who looked at her with wide eyes from the start. Amelia gave him a tight-lipped smile, took him out of his daze. Was she too OOC (out of character)? Well, it's not like she will see them again. "So who will send me home?" She asked the bodyguards with a smile, tilting her head innocently. John's eyes twitched at her question. "I will, Miss." The other bodyguard spoke as he directed her towards the exit. Amelia smiled at him before walking ahead of him. When she was sure they couldn't see her expressions, she let out a long sigh of relief. Thankfully, William agreed to meet her. Or else she would have to go to court to fight and she didn't have that much energy. The bodyguard unlocked the car and opened the door for her, who absentmindedly went in. Thankfully, someone is dropping her home because she doesn't know Amelia's address. Host, you should have just asked me. I would have given you the address. The system sulked while Amelia felt like hitting her head. How could she forget her very own encyclopedia? System, how much is the Brown family's worth and Liam's net worth at present? She questioned. Brown's Capital Mall is worth approximately $2.71 billion and Liam's net worth is around $250 million. His net worth all comes from his shares in Capital mall. He has around 25% share. The system promptly updated Amelia with the information, who was astonished at the account. It was almost an astronomical figure to her. Then what I am about to put forth should be fine. She chuckled at the thought. Tomorrow will be a long day. But before that, she needs to find a good lawyer and lay out the conditions perfectly, and double-check everything. System, can you help me find a good lawyer? Is there a function like that in you? Amelia questioned curiously. I don't have the function host but we can buy information on lawyers in this world from the system shop if you want to. Umm, What do you mean by that exactly? She questioned in confusion. As I said earlier, host, the system store has everything you will ever need. It also has information about the people in this world. You can access the information about core characters of the novel free of cost, while information about others will cost you some experience points. The system elaborated while Amelia understood how it works overall. Okay, so help me find information on some good lawyers. She asked while the system went back to work. Now that one obstacle is out of the way, she needs to make plans to move out of the house the previous owner lived in, and think of a way to earn money temporarily. It has always been a dream of hers to own a fashion boutique and make clothes. In her previous life, she worked for others, but now she can work for herself without any hesitation. But the most important thing she needs to do right now is to meet 'her' kids. ~.~
