I haven't been this anxious in my life. Everything felt so unreal. I was meeting my parents in a couple of minutes, and I wasn't sure what to expect.
The anticipation was almost overwhelming, my heart racing as I rehearsed what I might say. Would they be happy to see me, or would there be tension, a reminder of our years apart?
As I took a deep breath, I tried to calm my racing thoughts, reminding myself that this was a chance for a fresh start.
