"Where are you going in such a hurry, Beta?" I asked, noticing Zack rushing past me.
He paused for a moment, glancing back with a furrowed brow.
"Meeting with my parents," he replied too quickly.
I could sense the tension in his voice, a rare crack in his usually confident demeanor.
"Is everything okay?" I pressed, wanting to understand what could be so urgent that it drove him to rush off like that.
He hesitated for a moment, his eyes darting around as if searching for the right words.
"On the contrary, everything is fine," he chirped, trying to hide his excitement. "Just a small family meeting to discuss Damien's upcoming birthday..."
