CHAPTER1: HER BETRAYAL
Her chest heaved, tears streaming freely down her cheeks. She couldn't move, couldn't breathe. Her heart pounded in her ears, drowning out the whispers around her. “You can’t be doing this to me, Raph!” she cried, voice cracking. “And you—Elera… how could you?” Elera didn’t flinch. She clung to Raph’s arm like she belonged there, eyes smug, victorious. “You know we’ve been in love,” Christina continued, choking on her words. “Today—today was supposed to be our mating ceremony. You were going to make me your Luna. Why would you do this to me?” Raph’s gaze was cold. “Love?” He scoffed. “I outgrew whatever that was.” The words cut deeper than any claw. Elera’s lips curled. “He chose me, Christina. Maybe you should ask yourself why.” Pain twisted through her chest like a blade. Christina stepped back, her vision blurring. The faces around her—wolves she had grown up with, trained beside, trusted—stared like she was a stranger. Raph stepped forward, jaw clenched, voice sharp. “I’m choosing your sister over you because she’s stronger, more beautiful… more worthy. I don’t need a weak wolf like you, Christina.” Christina’s breath hitched. Tears spilled down her face as she stared at the man she thought she knew. “You never told me I was weak,” she whispered. “You said you loved everything about me. Just two nights ago, we were… we were talking about what to name our pup.” Her voice cracked. “Why are you doing this to me?” Elera sneered, her voice venomous. “Will you ever be pregnant? You can’t even carry the child of an alpha. You were never enough.” Christina’s entire body went still. She turned to Raph, her voice shaking. “You’ve been cheating on me…? All these years?” Raph didn’t even flinch. “Who wouldn’t?” he said coldly. “You’re nothing compared to an omega .” The words struck harder than claws ever could. Christina’s world crumbled around her. Murmurs rippled through the crowd, growing louder with each word. “Yes, she’s weak,” someone hissed. “Always hiding behind the alpha, relying on him for protection.” Another voice added, “Her sister’s stronger—braver. She has what it takes to lead.” “She doesn’t even look like she has the strength to be our Luna,” someone sneered. Christina’s breath hitched. Every whisper felt like a knife twisting in her chest. She looked out at the pack she once called family—and saw nothing but judgment, betrayal, and cold indifference. “You see?” Raph sneered, his voice low and cold. “I always knew you were weak. So weak, in fact, that in my next life, I’d still choose Elera over you.” Christina’s knees buckled beneath her. She dropped to the ground, clutching his leg as if it was the only thing keeping her from falling apart. “No… please, Raph. You can’t do this to me,” she begged, tears streaming down her face. “I know you love me. I know it. Don’t hurt me like this—please. This was supposed to be our mating ceremony.” For a brief moment, something flickered in Raph’s eyes—a softening, a c***k in his icy armor. He wanted to reach down, pull her up, hold her close. But he didn’t. His gaze shifted to Elera, standing confidently by his side, and the love in his heart was no longer for Christina. With a cold edge, he pulled his leg free. “Get off the ground,” he said, voice final. The pack fell silent. Christina felt her world shatter beneath her. “I, Alpha Raphael Kingston, reject you, Christina Blake, as my fated mate.” Raph declared, his voice cold and unwavering. Christina’s heart shattered all over again. “Raph!” she cried, tears streaming freely down her cheeks. “You can’t just reject me!” She sprang to her feet and lunged toward Elera, anger and desperation fueling her. But before she could reach her sister, Raph grabbed her arm firmly. “Don’t be so dramatic, Christina,” he said, voice sharp. “I’m the one who rejected you. So accept it.” A sudden, sharp itch flared on her wrist—the very spot where Raph had bitten her to mark her as his mate. It felt like tiny needles piercing her skin, a cruel reminder of what was being taken away. Christina gasped, clutching the spot, pain and betrayal burning through her. Christina’s voice cracked but stayed fierce. “I won’t accept your rejection. Even after everything—after you cheated with my sister—I’m still your fated mate.” She gripped his arm, trembling. “Raph, we’ve spent almost our whole lives together. Training, dreaming, planning. Was it all a lie? Did I mean nothing?” Tears streamed as she spoke, words pouring out in a rush. “You call me weak, but what about your promises? Your vows? I am supposed to be your luna—how could you just choose her over me like I’m nothing?” Her breath hitched, heart breaking. “I thought you loved me.” Raph’s eyes flashed, but he stayed silent. The weight of her words hung in the charged air. Raph’s jaw clenched tightly. His voice was low, cutting through the silence like a blade. “Love? You think what we had was love? It was convenience. Weakness disguised as affection.” He took a step back, distancing himself from her pain. “You’re not strong enough to be my Luna. Never were. And now, after everything, I’m done pretending.” His eyes hardened. “Accept it, Christina. You’re out of the pack—and out of my life.” Christina’s eyes blazed with fury. “What? You think I’ll just take this? Raph, you’re going to regret everything you’ve done to me. Mark my words.” Elera sneered, stepping closer with a cruel smile. “Please, spare us the drama. Everyone knows you’re powerless—even your wolf knows it. I don’t know why you even exist, you’re just trash.” Christina froze. The venom dripping from her sister’s mouth shattered something deep inside her—the very person she had loved and protected all these years. Christina’s hands clenched into fists, nails digging into her palms. The sting grounded her amidst the chaos swirling inside. “You think I’m trash?” she spat back, voice trembling but fierce. “I’m stronger than you’ll ever be. And this—” she gestured around the crowd “—this isn’t the end of me.” Her chest heaved, eyes burning with determination. “You’ll see. One day, you’ll regret the day you turned your back on me.” Christina hesitated, her eyes locked on Raph. He stepped forward, voice cold and final. “You’re banished too. Just so you know.” there’s no place left for you here.” A bitter smirk curled on his lips. “I won’t regret choosing her over you—not once. In fact, I regret wasting my precious time on you instead of your sister.” The words hit like a slap, leaving the crowd silent in shock. Christina’s breath caught. She wanted to speak, to fight back, but the weight of his words pressed down like a stone on her chest. A stunned silence fell over the gathering, the air thick with disbelief. Christina’s hands trembled at her sides, fists clenched so tight her nails dug into her palms. Her world was crumbling, but beneath the crushing pain, a fierce ember sparked deep inside. She swallowed the lump in her throat, refusing to let her voice break. “You can banish me, Raph. But you’ll never erase what we shared. And one day, you’ll see—the truth always comes out.” Her eyes locked onto his for a moment longer before she turned away, every step heavy but filled with quiet defiance. Christina stumbled out of the hall, her sobs breaking free despite every effort to hold them back. She wiped fiercely at her eyes, desperate to hide her weakness from those who had just humiliated her. “I can’t believe I’ve lost everything,” she whispered into the night—her mate, her pack, her home all ripped away. “They’ll all regret this. Every last one of them.” Suddenly, a hand gently rested on her shoulder, offering a thick wooden coat. “You’ll catch a cold, sweetheart,” a calm, kind voice said softly. Christina looked up, startled.
