“I just need to check how deep are your wounds” I clarify. I give her a moment before reaching for her chin. Left side of her face is bruised badly, a cut on her lip which is swollen now. I gently trace the outline of her lip to wipe the blood off them before moving my hand up to swipe up her bangs. There's no cut or bruise but she is burning. “Why did they hit you?” I asked, pulling my hand back. My eyes wander down her face, stopping to meet her gaze which is intense enough to render me speechless for a moment. “Strange” Her voice is low. I frown, not understanding what she means. “What's strange?” “Someone is concerned for me” There's a pause then she continues, “for the first time— It feels strange” Her words saddened and confused me at the same time.
