chapter 4

She was still fuming when she got to the park. And in her anger, she sat down on the bench. Hard! "Oh sweet Joseph, my arse." Cassie pouted trying to discreetly rub her sore backside on the bench. The nerve of that guy. Well, at least I got two free hotdogs for lunch. She thought to herself. "Drat, I forgot to buy a soda." It was that asshole's fault. Who kisses random strangers on the street? That i***t obviously. Cassie asked and answered herself. But that kiss though, in a different scenario Cassie would have kept on kissing him. Hell, even take him home for the night or a quicky. He was hot and his kiss felt like she had put her finger in a live socket. It shocked her to her toes. "I need to get laid." Cassie said to herself as she finished off his hotdog and started on the second one. She had never been kissed like that, ever. And she would have loved a repeat of that. Too bad the kisses came from a lunatic playboy who would probably irritate the life out of her. She sat back on the bench a looked around. The park was beautiful and her favorite place when she felt she needed air. It was not far from work and about twenty minutes from her apartment. On weekends it was usually a little more crowded than weekdays. Families having picnics, couples taking strolls and it was also the go to place for pet owners close by. She and Linda would come when they are both off and just watch people. Make jokes about them or create fantasies. The latter was mainly done by Linda, she is the crazy one. "Hey is this seat taken?" A voice interrupted her thoughts and self conversations. Cassie looked up and saw an average looking man probably in his late thirties smiling down at her. She could see the interest in his eyes and she was not in the mood. She felt like telling him off but then she knew that would be just mean. "My girlfriend just went to buy us something to drink, she should be back soon. Sorry" "Oh, okay thanks." Cassie watched him walk away with a shake of her head. She knew she wasn't ugly. Her body was not really to die for. Small boobs, average butt, and hips. It was her hair that drew people in. It had been her mother's joy when she was alive. Her mother used to say it was because of their Irish ancestry. The red curly mess was a nightmare to Cassie. She had to tie it down when it was still wet because once it dried it went wild. Through school, she had kept it really short to avoid attention. Now she let it grow, trimming it once in a while. But that now seemed like a bad idea. Checking her time she saw she had eight minutes to get to work. And her office building was about twelve minutes walking. Harold was going to blow a gasket. She got up and started speed walking back to work. She saw the banana she stepped in and remembered the hot guy who kissed her. Knowing they would probably never meet again Cassie smiled happy she had at least experienced that kiss. "That is pathetic Cass. You definitely need to get laid soon." She scolded herself when she realized she was turning into a sap. "You are late," Harold said as soon as she passed the door. He had been waiting for her it appeared. "By four minutes Harold, give me a break. Do you not have other people to supervise, that are not me?" Cassie snapped passing him and going to sit on her desk. "Mr. Barlow will hear about this right away. I am fed up with you." He threatened. "Yeah yeah and I'm fed up with you. Go and tell him tattle t**s see if I care." Cassie said waving him off not even moved by his threat. Harold glared at her then spun around and stormed to their manager's office. He really had issues with her. He came out barely two minutes after going in, shot daggers her way then stomped to his cubicle like an angry child. What a brat. Cassie knew Mr. Barlow would have told him to piss off and it made her smirk his way. He really needed to grow up. Cassie's work phone went off and she groaned, probably another customer who wanted to rant about how the insurance. She really did not like her job but she did not want to change. It was not the dream job she imagined nor the dream life she hoped for but at least she could take care of herself. And that was her life.
