Chapter 5

GABRIELLA I bit my lips as the I sat in the car that was carrying me to Ryker's house. The same lips that Ryker had kissed yesterday, and with so much passion and possession. I had never been kissed so thoroughly in my life before. Never. And it was all I could think of last night. Arghhh! This wasn't a good sign. How was I supposed to cope if I had reacted to him like this, from just one kiss? What then would happen in the time we were to stay together as husband and wife. I didn't want anything to happen between me and a member of that family again. I really didn't. Alexander had torn my heart to shreds, and I sure as hell didn't want that to repeat itself again. "We are here Ma'am." The driver said, pulling over in front of a beautiful house. I wouldn't personally call it a mansion, but it was big, and in quite a private area. One fitting for a person like Ryker. "Thank you." I said with a small smile as the door was pulled open by a man I hadn't seen advance. "Thank you." I told him, collecting my purse and making my way towards the entrance which was open. I walked inside, closing the door behind me, and almost had a heart attack when I turned and saw Ryker standing righ behind me with an expressionless face. When I had called last night, I hadn't known what to expect. Still didn't know what to expect. "Hi.." I murmured. Ryker raised a brow. "I don't think 'hi' is a way to greet the man who would soon be your husband." he gestured for me to follow him, which I did. "Well, you are not my husband yet. Fake husband... by the way." I retorted, following him into what looked like a study. "Oh there won't be anything fake about this marriage." he stated, leaning on the big oak table, while folding his hands across his chest and putting his attention on me. I suddenly felt shy, and clutched the straps of my bag tighter. "What...what do you mean?" It was hard forming words when a man as good looking as him, had all his attention on me. Jeez... I needed to cut it out. I was behaving like a girl having a high school crush! "I mean exactly what I said, Gabby." A frown graced my forehead. "Isn't this like a fake marriage of some sort? Like we get married, and then break up after some time, just to keep some sort of facade that would be very beneficial to you?" But Ryker was already shaking his head, even before I finished what I was saying. "Heck no. We would be married for real. It is essential." he gestured for me to sit, which I did, because my knees had suddenly grown weak. "You don't get this, do you?" I said nothing, only staring back at him. "You will be mine in everyway, to do as I please, and want. I will own you, Gabriella. Your life, your freedom, your body, everything." My heart thudded in my ears, and my lips parted in shock. "Are you buying me as your exclusive w***e?" I hated how that sounded, but it was the only thing I could think of that best described what he was proposing. Ryker seemed unfazed by my words as his smirk only widened. "If you want to call it that. You did it for my brother, I'm sure it won't be hard for you to do." I got up, enraged, and stalked towards him, hands itching to slap his perfect face, but Ryker wrapped his fingers around my wrist, effectively stopping me. "Don't even think of it." "How dare you?!" I hissed, feeling ashamed that he would think of me that way. "How dare I? You paraded yourself as my brother's for three years, and I know the pretty sum he paid you. And I know that you would have given him more years of your life if he hadn't gotten Cassey pregnant. Besides, I'm a better option. I am wifing you, not keeping you around like a damn trophy. With me, you will have a life, a home over your head, and anything you want!" I could only listen in awe and disgust as he painted me in the worst light I had ever heard. No wonder he had kept to himself all these years. "You are sick! I will not marry you!" His grip around my wrist tightened, but not in a way that hurt, but a way that told me to keep still. The chuckle that came after my outburst was rich, and deep. "You already signed the contract, sweet thing. Besides, if you so much as disobey, I will make sure to make you life so miserable. No job, no money, no house, nothing. And don't forget your grandmother's bill. You will be indebted to me." He pulled me close so I was standing between his legs. "Try to be on my good side, baby, And I promise you will hane the best time of your life." his tone became low. Somehow, he had released my wrist and was now wrapping his arm around my waist. The warmth of his body engolfed me, and I found myself being aware of him in ways that I ahouldn't have been. This man was proposing the most outrageous thing to me, but here I was, looking at his lips and imagining what they would feel like, kissing me again. "Wait.." I reached out, placing my hands on his chest to stop him from getting any closer, even though my brain was fogged as hell. "Wait..." I said again, this time bolder and forced my gaze away from his lips to his eyes which shone with something I couldn't describe. "Why? What do you think I want to do?" he drawled, ficking his gaze to my lips, then back to my eyes. Thankfully though, he didn't move, and jsut stayed there. I cleared my throat, then shook my head. "Nothing. I uh...we should talk about what I came here to talk about in the first place." There was no use going against him. I couldn't, didn't want to. Ryker c****d his head to the side. "Okay, That works." Then when I pushed at him, he released, me, then walked around to his desk and sat down, gesturing for me to do the same. "Let's see.." he murmured, picking up a file and fliping it open. My heard was pounding so hard now, it almost felt painful, but I didn't care. I really did have a lot to lose. And I hoped at the ened, it wasn't going to backfire.
