CHAPTER 1
I woke up to the annoying sound of my blaring alarm, signaling the start of another Monday. As I reluctantly pried my eyes open, the sinking realization hit me—it was Monday already. I don't normally dread school, given my good grades and amazing friends, but there's one huge downside: Emily, the school's resident queen bee. She made sure to leave her mark yesterday by tripping me in the hallway, and needless to say, I didn't exactly bounce back from it. After dragging myself out of bed, I shuffled to the bathroom to freshen up and gear up for school. I decided to go for a sleek black jean, paired with a matching hoodie and my cool black Nike sneakers that my mom got for me. After a quick hairbrush and tying it up in a ponytail, I grabbed my phone and tote bag before heading out of my room. In the kitchen, I found my mom whipping up some toast and eggs. "Good morning, Mom," I said, hugging her. "Good morning, honey. Hope you slept well. Aren't you having breakfast?" she asked. "I'm good, Mom," I replied, eager to start my day. When I arrived at school, I spotted my best friend May talking to one of the cheerleaders. "Hey May," I greeted her. "Ella, how are you? Why do you look like that?" she asked. I wondered if something was on my face but everything seemed fine. May then shared her excitement about the upcoming cheerleader tryouts that gonna happen during lunch and how she hoped it would bring her closer to Sean. "Ugh, you're still on about that Sean guy? He's not all that," I commented. He is hot Ella don't deny it have you seen him playing football so Hot she replied come on let's go we have geography first I said and we went to the class to start our day. At lunchtime, May and I were surprised by how quickly it arrived. We headed to the cafeteria, and as we entered, we noticed a group of students gathered for cheerleader tryouts. Among them was Emily, the girl I strongly disliked. Emily, as it turned out, was the leader of the cheerleading team, and it was widely known that her position was due to her father's influence as a shareholder in the school. We walked over to where the other students were preparing for the tryouts, and when it was May's turn, I couldn't help but cheer her on. That's when Emily piped up, sneering at us, "The two losers from Wintons High School think they can compete for the cheerleader spot? What makes you think I would ever choose either of you?" But before I could respond, May calmly corrected her, "Actually, I am the only one participating for the spot, and I believe in my abilities as a cheerleader." .When May was about to display her skills to the cheerleader, a group of students erupted in cheers. Meanwhile, the unexpected entrance of the football team leader and his friend into the cafeteria piqued my curiosity. I couldn't help but wonder why they were doing here. Sean McCoy and Daniel Adams were known as the two most popular guys in school, and it seemed that some girls were completely infatuated with them. Rumors had been circulating that Emily might be dating Sean, adding a layer of excitement to the already tense atmosphere. Glancing at my best friend, I could tell she was feeling jittery. "You can do this, May!" I called out to her, hoping to boost her confidence. As May prepared to start, one of the cheerleaders urged her on, and she mustered a smile in response. Suddenly, I felt a pair of eyes on me and turned to see Sean gazing in my direction, whispering something to Daniel. Feeling a surge of indignation, I shot them an intense glare – little did I know that my actions would have unforeseen consequences. "Hello beautiful," Sean greeted, but I remained silent. "Hey, I said hello," Daniel attempted, to which I finally replied. "We came to sit here because we saw you were the only one seated here," Sean explained. "Well, it doesn't look like it's a problem," I confidently responded, looking at both of them. "Okay, someone's feisty," Daniel teased. As I stood up, May approached with a radiant smile. they picked me Ella cheerfully exclaimed, "That's nice!" "Come on, let's get out of here," I suggested, but before we could leave "Hey May congrats for being part of the cheerleading team," Sean said before she could reply I pulled her hand and we left the cafeteria together. "It's been a long time since I caught a prey, don't you think, Daniel?" Sean remarked, his gaze fixed on Emily. "Long time," he mused to himself.
