As they climbed back to the top, Alpha Charles and two men helped them out of the hole. Three of the four warriors took the small group back to the cars to guard them whilst Gammar John and one of the warriors followed Alpha Charles and Ellie.
They came across many bodies on their way to Ellie's Grandpa's house, all faces Ellie knew well. Her teacher and four children were lying by the reading green, where everyone went to sit in the hot months to read under the shade of the willow trees.
"It doesn't look like they even had time to run!" Ellie exclaimed, closing the eyes of a small girl no older than 10. "Lisa my brothers best friend's sister she was going to be 10 next weekend. They had her party all planned sighed.
"I'm so sorry Ellie, please don't look at anyone else we will make sure they all are dealt with, with great care." Alpha Charles reassured her.
"No! I will be looking at every one that is lost! I want to remember these faces when I find who did this and rip their throats out!" She got up and moved along to others saying goodbye and closing eyes that were still open.
23 people, women, men and children alike were between the pack house and her grandpa's house, all deceased, all with their throats or heart ripped from them. Each one Ellie acknowledged taking a mental note as she passed them. She couldn't just run past them to get to her grandpa's house as she needed to see who each of them were to make sure her siblings, mother, father and Grandpa weren't among them.
Her Grandpa's house was still standing but partially burned almost like it was set on fire but only partial burnt before the fire went out.
Ellie ran inside to find a sight she wished to have never seen!
"Mum!" Ellie cried out and ran to her mother's side, her once long blonde hair now red with blood "Mum!" she leaned to her mother's chest and listened, there was nothing there. She didn't want to believe it, but she knew her mums' spirit had passed on and was no longer there.
Gammar John felt his knees buckle behind Ellie feeling her pain, Charles steaded his friend, who was grateful to fall. 'Be strong brother, she needs you' Charles linked into John's mind and was encouraging him to get himself steady. John nodded and straightened up holding the pain at bay, knowing his mate's pain was much worse.
"Ellie, we need to check on the safe house your grandpa has, you can stay here with your mum, but can you tell us how to get to it please?" John softly asked her.
Ellie nodded and replied, "The dining table.." pointing down the corridor and then resting her head back on her mum. "Tyler is safe mum, nanny looked after him well. I will make sure he knows you, I promise" he heard her cry as he made his way the dining room. Slightly relieved his wolf sadly purred 'I'm sorry John I just couldn't bare the thought of our mate having someone else's baby'. John ignored him as this wasn't the time to even think about the bond and the struggles mate bonds have, especially the jealous of wolves.
In the dining room the table was thrown up against a wall, a rug that possibly was under the table, now chucked on the table. A hole in the centre of the floor showed beneath it wide steps and a rail on the sides. At the bottom of the steps was an elderly man, his heart had been pulled from his chest and dropped on the floor next to him, it looked like someone had stamped on it purposely. There was a door just beyond him that was wide open, footprints of his blood led through into the room. Gammar John knew this gentleman must have been Ellie's Grandpa, he couldn't help but need to take a short breath whilst he went past him. Alpha Charles behind him held his shoulder steady so neither of them accidently stood on man. It was a small gap at the base of the stairs and his body nearly filled it in its entirety.
As they passed through the door a blood ridden cover was over what they could tell was a small body. Alpha Charles passed John and knelt down next to it, he lifted a small part of the cover to see a young boys face, his eyes were closed and he looked peaceful. It looked like his neck had been snapped, a quick death thankfully the only good thing about the situation. He covered the boy back up and stood to face his Gammar. Tears in the Alphas eyes were a shock to John, but at the same time he understood, beneath that sheet was a small child, nothing else would have affected his Alpha so badly.
"John, go to your mate, make sure she doesn't come down here. She doesn't need to see this." Charles gathered himself back together and checked the rest of the room for any hiding spaces. No one else was in there he was sure of it.
"Let me down there now! I need to see who it is! God dam you let me past!"
'Well John's certainly got himself a tough one.' Remarked Leon, Charle's wolf.
'Understandable really given the circumstances.' He replied as Ellie came running in the door.
"Ellie, no, you can't be down here" Alpha used his most firm voice he could and even though he wasn't her Alpha he could still command respect from others.
"Alpha Charles, who is under the cover!? Please I need to know I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters; I need to make sure they are all safe! I know 2 of them are at the moment!" She cried as John held her shoulder. "Please!"
"It is a small boy, around the of 8 to 10 years old, black hair." He replied to her question "It isn't something you need to see Ellie. Especially if it is one of your siblings".
Ellie knew who it was by his description, her 8-year-old brother Ryan, he could be mistaken for 10 as he was tall for his age. "Ryan! Alpha I am a trained warrior I was raised to be strong and be able to get revenge for those who died. I need to see him so when I find who has done this, I can see him and kill them for him, just like my fellow pack members and... and ...my mother" she pleaded and this time Charles knew she needed to see him, if she didn't, she would regret it forever.
