Chapter 17 Our footsteps echoed against the walls of the castle as we walked through the large door and into the foyer, which was lined on either side with full suits of armor made from blackened bones. The theme of black bones continued from the door, along the walls, and up into the rafters, which funneled into an arch far above us. The ceilings were painted with dancing skeletons and ghoulish monsters with demonic smiles. Candles along the walls accented the bones and mixed with gothic paintings of dead bodies.
