Payu’s cell phone was switched off since the early afternoon and he wasn’t able to communicate with anyone. He was away from the office to meet with a client. His head started to hurt because the client was annoying and hard to please, but he was also missing a small man that had been in his mind. It had been two weeks since he touched or even spoke to Rain. He thought of buying a beer on the way home but when the rain started to batter against his windshield he changed his mind and drove straight home. There wasn’t going to be any races and Saifah was going on a date with his girlfriend, so he was alone at home. As he pulled up he saw a figure standing in the rain with an umbrella. The outline looked familiar. He pulled the car to park and jumped from the car in a sheer panic. “Rain, why are you standing outside in the rain?” Payu looked at Rain how was half soaked, and it hurt his heart, but Rain did not look bothered. He looked excited.
“Phi Payu you came!” Rain exclaimed, excitement evidence in his voice and the way he was jumping at Payu.
“What are you doing here?” Payu asked with worry littering his voice. “Why did you not wait in the car?” Payu’s voice turned fierce, but Rain wasn’t scared.
“Phi Payu you told me to prove that I can be responsible for my own things” Rain continued to tell him. “I wanted to let you know that I did it. The professor congratulated me because I did a good job. I wanted to tell you first!” Rain’s words stunned Payu. He was shocked that Rain had admitted any type of feelings for him other than anger.
“Tell me first?” Payu questioned.
“I had left the university and went straight to the workshop, but they told me you weren’t going to be there, so I came here to wait for you because I want you to be the first to know. I proved myself right?” Rain told Payu everything so fast his head spun but Rain just wanted to tell him as soon as possible. The boy smiled at Payu innocently with such a sweet smile on his face. Payu’s heart skipped a beat as the smile spread across his face. The smile snapped Payu’s patience in half.
