Zara’s POV
I felt a surge of embarrassment and anger. How could this be? I was supposed to be a guest of honor, and now I was being turned away like some kind of nobody.
Just as I was about to try and reason with the attendant again, I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Hey love, seems you're having trouble getting in..."
I turned to see Leo, my ex-lover, standing behind me with a smug expression on his face. I felt a pang of resentment towards him. Why did he have to show up now, of all times?
I tried to ignore him and turned back to the attendant. "Listen, I know I'm supposed to be on the list. Can you please check again?"
