Zara’s POV
As I sat on the edge of the bed, I wrestled with a gnawing uncertainty. I couldn’t pinpoint where things had gone awry, but one thing was clear: if Lucius returned home, I was determined to uncover the truth behind the shadows that seemed to linger over him. Deep down, I reassured myself that I hadn’t done anything wrong. Perhaps it was time for me to take a moment for myself, to recharge emotionally and mentally.
I slipped out of my clothes and headed to the bathroom, letting the warm water wash away the residue of worry from my body. Afterward, I pulled on a comfortable pair of pajamas before settling down with my laptop. As I navigated through my emails and tweaked some files, the flickering screen quickly turned into a blur of letters and numbers.
