Uncharted Desires ( Healing Love)

As the plane lifted slowly till it was up in the air, Jade kept on sighing with a frustrated look on her face, she never liked being put in a position where she had no choice. But here she was on a flight to Manhattan, far away from her little home she was starting to like New Jersey. It has just been months since she graduated from her Masters in nursing and was working in a renowned hospital there before she was referred to Manhattan where she was given a better opportunity. The pay was so enticing that she couldn't bear to say no, having found a suitable apartment where she would live, a few hours before she board the plane she got to know that apartment has been taken by someone who was willing to pay more than she did and since the agent was more loyal to money than any customer, he turned her away claiming that it wasn't his fault since she had not signed the necessary documents yet. "I'll help you get a nicer apartment if you could wait for at most a month" those were his pacifying words to her before she hung up on him angrily. Now left with no choice but to contact the one person that she could crash with till she could actually hunt for an apartment, her brother. And did she get earful for not contacting him earlier, that was exactly one of the reasons she didn't contact him. He nags too much! "Young lady can you scoot over for me? Jade was brought back from her thoughts with a not so polite request from an old woman who didn't even wait to get a reply before trying to sit almost pushing her out of the seat. Jade had to involuntarily move out of the seat and take the next seat to the window still looking shocked at the sudden intrusion of the intimidating old woman. Jade's brown eyes blinked continuously with questions on the tip of her tongue, after settling down beside her, the old woman let out a satisfied sigh. She looked at the surprised young lady and thought to explain "actually I would have sat near the window but I always feel so light whenever I sit there as I watch the birds. It was so relaxing that I sometimes sleep and don't wake up for days, so my grandson and doctor warned me not to get carried away with the view. So I'm trying to play it safe, I want to live for a few more years" the old woman grinned. Feeling proud of the explanation she just gave which Jade didn't seem to understand but still replied "oh, I see" offering the woman a smile and looking out the window. The antsy old woman couldn't sit still and peered at Jade's face, "you look so young and pretty, and you have a nice skin too just like my grandson." Jade was forced to turn her head when the old woman started talking. And offered her a smile and thank you "But you are definitely better looking because you smile, my grandson doesn't and he nags too much too" she continued with a frown at the thought of her grandson. Jade nodded helplessly as the old woman ranted on about her grandson, she brought out a candy from her bag when she noticed the old woman stop talking. "Oh is that a candy?" The old woman asked with longing eyes glued to it "Yeah......uhmm do you want some?" Jade had to offer when she saw the old woman drooling. The old woman's face lit up "can I really?" she snatched it away before Jade could give her a reply, not giving her a chance to change her mind. Jade blinked and when sh heard the old woman's moan after tasting the candy, a chuckle escaped her lips. "I've missed it so much, my grandson wouldn't let me have any" she complained with a sulking expression . As she stared at Jade who smiled slightly but knowing what kind of implication sugary things like this could do to such an old woman which could warrant her grandson to restrict her from candy, she felt guilty and became slightly worried for giving the old woman the candy. "If it wasn't harmful to her health, she definitely wouldn't be restricted" she thought to herself and decided to speak out. "Uhmm is your grandson on the plane with you?" She asked amd received a nod in reply. "Yes I sneaked away when he was asleep , he's so strict and stiff faced that I can barely breath, who knew I'd meet such a kind young lady who would offer me candy" she expressed as her face morphed from frustration to a wide smile. Jade chuckled but decided to advice the old woman "You see ma'am I'm actually a nurse and I think I understand why your grandson doesn't want you to have sweet things......" Before she could explained she saw the old woman looking aggrieved like she just became her enemy. "Actually I'm pretty sure one candy wouldn't hurt" she concluded under the pressure of the old woman's stare and saw her expression change from aggrieved to happy. "It wouldn't right?" Jade nodded in reply. "And I'm also pretty sure a rigorous two weeks examination with your doctor wouldn't hurt too" Both the old woman and Jade stiffened and turned towards the source of the cold voice that was looming over them. Jade looked up and met the eyes of the intruder and she stiffened even more, it was so captivating and so green. Jade thought of the fact that putting it together with her brown eyes would make it a beautiful tree, he would be the leaves and she would be the trunk of the trees since her eyes was as brown as one and then she looked down to his nose, lips and jaws putting it together made it a very handsome specimen to stare at "This handsome face that doesn't smile definitely made my mood very much better" she thought and she was definitely not done studying this specimen so she let her eyes travel down from his feet.
