CHAPTER FOUR

The federal museum trip was at the corner and every student was talking about it. Most of the students have never been out of Maltin city and are so desperate to make a trip to Ocean city where the federal museum is located.

Eva has been working hard to make up some money for the trip and extra more for her feeding and to buy some few gifts for her younger sister when she return. Eva has been living with her younger sister for 7 years in a very small apartment. Eva does some part time jobs to carter for her school and her sister and also to pay for the apartment and other bills.

Jerry has been working to make up money for his trip, but the more he earns, the quicker the demand for him. He buys drugs when he is sick and also buys food and pay transport to school. Jerry and Eva barely have time for themselves as they try all means to meet up for the trip not to miss.

It’s exactly 9am and the history class will be commencing by 10am. Every student is already in class including Jerry and Eva. They were discussing on how the trip will be and were to live. Jerry has made his tent were he can sleep and also made one for Eva. Other students were thinking of looking for a motel to stay in. Tasha bought an expensive camera to use it during the trip. As the class was still on discussion, the class representative James came and announces to the class that the money for the trip is $80 for each student. Failure to meet up the amount will be disqualified from the trip. Everyone was still happy with it. They don’t mind, so far they are going for a trip. Jerry was worried he has no much, but he kept it simple and hope for the manner

After the History class, Bryan and other student collide with Jerry at the corridor to mock him and expose to his pocket. ‘You now have to pay for the transport for the trip’ says Bryan. They laughed with other student. Tasha and Brenda were also laughing, ‘he might have finished the money he picked the other day, says Brenda.

Jerry was only worried about the trip not about what the other fellows talk about. As he was about to live the department premises his phone rang, he pull out the phone from his pocket and check it was a strange number. He never mind and pick up the call. ‘Hello Jerry, it was a woman voice, ‘I am sorry I have not been there for you all this while, I have been trying to see you but I rather stay from you for your safety, I will soon come and see you and I will like to give you some money to carter for your needs, send me your bank details and I will send you some money. I am your mother. The phone hung up before J Jerry could speak up. Jerry tries calling the phone number but it was highly encrypted to access the transmission of calls from ordinary phone, like Jerry’s.

He decided to send his bank details. It was not up to two minutes when he heard his phone vibrate. He checks the phone and it was a message from the bank. ‘Your account has been credited with $5,000,000 and total account balance is ‘$5,000,000.12.

Jerry was confused and surprised all at the same time. He started thinking why his mother was away from him. But he was happy that he heard his mom’s voice and his bank account are fuelled. He checks the time and it was 12:30pm and rushed to Housing commission.

As he enters, all eyes were on him. He was dressing casual and the clothes are faded. When the manager so him, he thought it was all those people that came to just enjoy the air conditioner and brag as if they have the money. He quickly sends an apprentice who was learning to attend to him, so she can learn the work through those people.

‘Good afternoon sir, you are welcome, please what can i do for you?’ Matilda said. Matilda is an apprentice learning the work in the housing commission so she was happy attending to Jerry. Jerry was happy finally someone is here to attend to him. He quickly answered ‘yes I will like to buy a house, is there any new building for sale? Sure yes said Matilda. She quickly works him to a room and showed him the varieties of houses base on the street they reside.

Jerry pointed a house, its located in Willington Street. Matilda was shock and was wondering in her mind IS THIS GUY NAUGHT? She quickly smiles. The houses in Willington Street, is where the rich people reside and is very expensive. Matilda replies and told Jerry the details of the house and told him twice where the house is located in case Jerry made a mistake. After little conversation they headed to the manager’s office to discuss further process.

The next step is to take Jerry to the house to see the house before making payment. The house cost $2,000,000. The Manager was surprised to see Jerry not shaken with this amount and still allow the process to continue. Everyone was waiting to see Jerry run away. But he still remains unshaken.

Matilda and Jerry arrived at the residence and they bought check the apartment. It was in a good shape and great. Jerry was ready to buy and Matilda was still surprise to see how Jerry was confident without backing up. They both went back to the office to make payment and prepare necessary papers in the office.

As they arrive, everyone in the office was still amazed to see the young boy. Matilda and jerry went straight to the Manager’s office. The Manager was still surprised when he heard Jerry was ready to buy the house. He asked Matilda to collect Jerry’s card to swipe. He was smiling because he thought they won’t be enough money in the card and jerry will be embarrassed later. Matilda collected the card and went ahead to swipe the card. Matilda swipes the card and her eyes were widely open. She couldn’t believe it at all and she quickly signals the Manager. The manager could not believe and went towards the count to see it with his own eyes. The Manager quickly went and gets a wine for Jerry and talks to him politely. ‘Master, here is your card, the papers will be done in two days and the house will be clean and refinished in the same day’. Matilda was happy because it was her first day at work and she was happy to get a commission of her first sale of $20,000. Jerry took his wine and his card and left the office.

Everyone in the office was shock and made them talking all day. Matilda fellow apprentice got jealous and was not happy about it. Matilda followed Jerry outside so she can get his w******p number to thank him and link her with other clients when buying a house. They both exchange contact and he left.
