Chapter 25

(Morrigan’s P.O.V) After what felt like a million hours of searching, Vladimir shouts with excitement, capturing my attention from the scroll I was looking at. “Mo! I found it! I think I finally found it!” He exclaims, sliding over to me. Putting the scroll in front of me, I read the prophecy out loud: When the Winter Solstice Princess has completed 20 cycles around the sun, a great threat will bear down upon the realm. This Solstice Princess will have powers to stop the threat, being of three equal species: a wolf, an elf, and a spell caster. The Solstice Princess will come into her powers after meeting her beloved and marking them as her own. The tipping of the scales will be in favor of the Solstice Princess. With ice in her heart for those who would harm her loved ones, she will cover the corpses of her enemies in ice. “What the hell does that mean?” I ask. “Well, I think the great threat that the prophecy is talking about is probably the uprising of the dark Fae. I know that you have unlocked a few powers since finding Rian, but have you worked with any of your spell caster magic?” “No, actually most of the magic I have done was elven. I can teleport and shapeshift, which I’ve done quite a few times, but I haven’t even tried to tap into my spell caster magic.” “Why not?” “I’m scared of it, to be honest,” I answer, ashamed to admit that fact. Vladimir hugs me close to him as the tears fall, completely out of my control because I’m so overwhelmed. “Morrigan, it’s okay to be afraid, but if what the prophecy says is true, then you need to start learning about your spell caster side and perfect it. You may want to have Lysander come to Máni to help train you with it so that you have a proper teacher. I would also get into contact with King Alstin of the elven kingdom of Elgarest to help you hone your elf powers.” “How are you so smart and wise, only to end up being mated to Ilayda?” I laugh. He chuckles and hugs me close again, making me feel a lot better about this whole prophecy tribrid bullshit. A throat clears behind us, we release one another from the hug and turn to see Rian, Cerberus, and Cormac standing a few feet away. “Find anything baby?” Rian asks. “Actually yes, there is a prophecy about me. Bow down to your Solstice Princess peasants!” I proclaim. Everyone rolls their eyes because I already am a Fae princess and a Supreme Luna, so there was no need for my proclamation, but I felt the need to, so I did. Well now that we know there is a prophecy, what are we going to do? Well, I’m going to take V’s advice and call Lysander again as well as this King Alstin for some training. Also, I think you and I need to start training in wolf-form. I’m a decent fighter in human form, but now that I have you, I think we should train in your form too. As your wolf, I approve of this message. “Now that you are done with your proclamations baby, you want to fill us all in on what you found?” Rian chuckles. So, I do exactly that! I fill in everyone about what the prophecy said and what Vladimir had suggested I do regarding my magic. Rian seemed keen for me to start training in my wolf form, but he also wanted to assess my fighting skills in human form. “Well, it’s almost dinner time, would you three like to join us for dinner this evening?” Cerberus asks. “That would be lovely King Cerberus, we would be honored,” I reply, bowing my head. “Now Morrigan, what did I ask you earlier? You are to be family soon; you are to call me Cerberus.” He states firmly. I giggle and nod my head in agreement, he was such a kind man. My stomach growled loudly, I suppose I was hungrier than I thought I was, though I also lost track of how much time had passed while Vladimir and I were searching through the scrolls. We had a lovely meal with our group, talking and laughing, enjoying each other’s company. Soon enough, it was time for me, Cormac, and Rian to leave; Cerberus had given me King Alstin’s number to get into contact with him, since Rian didn’t have it on him. We get into the car, Cormac driving again when Rian asks, "How are you feeling, baby?" “I’m honestly not sure how I feel. I feel intimidated that I have this weight on me, and I’m nervous about failing everyone and allowing the dark Fae to take over because, with someone selfish in charge, things will go completely downhill.” I state. “I understand that baby, but you also need to have faith in yourself and your abilities.” He says as he kisses my temple. “I know that, but it’s just hard when I don’t even know where to begin in the first place.” “Well, tomorrow morning you call Lysander and tell him to come and help you out. Then you call King Alstin and see if he would be willing to host us in his kingdom for a day. Just baby steps honey, and you will start training in your wolf-form too.” “Thank you, baby, for the reassurance. I needed that.” I say as I lean into him.
