Tyson had shot up in bed. I turned still half asleep to look at him with a questioning gaze.
“We have to go. They found us”
I jumped to my feet as he spoke, which was lucky as the foam mattress was quickly pulled from where I had just been. Tyson quickly rolled it and attached it to the large bag.
“We have to split up; I will find you later. I know you can transform; you’re going to need to do that now”
“I…I can’t. It doesn’t happen by will”
Tyson handed me the bag before rounding to the front of the cave.
“I will try to distract them. Hold them off best as I can. Try your best. This is the only chance we have”
Before I could object Tyson transformed into his wolf and sprinted out the cave. No this was a horrible plan! I ran to where Tyson had just left but I couldn’t see him anywhere. How was I meant to get this stupid thing to work? I tried to focus back on the memory to see if there was any trick that had caused the transformation. Back pain? Well, that doesn’t really help. Maybe I needed the fall again.
I began climbing up the sheer rock face. I’d have to go high if this was going to work. It had to work; I couldn’t leave Tyson to fend for himself. Looking down made me feel queasy, probably something to do with being pushed off a high tower nearly to my death only a few days ago. That might cause issues if I need to use my newfound powers. I took a deep breath, trying to relax my jumping nerves. I focused on Tyson; he needs me, he might already be fighting for his life. I closed my eyes as I fell forward. The wind quickly rushed to greet me, but the ground seemed to rush faster.
Ouch!
I dusted myself as I slowly got back onto my feet. Okay, that didn’t work, and now I was much worse off than I had started. Did I have to go higher? There must be something else. Something I’m not remembering. When they had appeared during the test, I was too shocked to really understand what had happened. But afterwards… The bones shifting, where they had settled in my back.
I began to focus on where they had settled, willing them to reverse. A small twitch gave me hope. My back began to open, and I felt my skin stretch as bones began to extend. Wow, this was uncomfortable. Tyson, Tyson, I had to get back to Tyson. The pain was pushed to the back of my mind as I thought of him. It had been too long already. Anything could have happened to him during then. I screamed as my back stretched once more and pins began to prick through my tender skin. Not pins, feathers.
Finally, it was over. I stretched out my wings and ruffled my feathers, the pressure pushing me back as I moved. I began to beat them, pushing air into the ground. My feet began to lift, and my toes scrapped as I was suddenly left unbalanced dangling above the ground. Why was this so hard to control? I began beating them faster and I was soon heading straight into the air. My head began to spin as I looked down, I was much further up than I had been at the tower. Focus! I scanned the grounds looking for Tyson. Light was sparking in the forest ahead, that must be it.
I beat the wind behind me as I hurtled towards the firing lights. It pushed me a lot faster than I realised and the trees were soon whipping by beneath me. The fight was a lot worse the closer I got. Tyson was heavily outnumbered. Flashing teeth and bright lights were thrown towards him. I watched as a snarling man darted at him with impossible speed, latching onto his back and sinking its teeth deep into Tyson’s neck.
I screamed as I approached, sending a large wail towards the onslaught. I landed crouched in the centre of the battle as men and beast alike began falling to the ground. The trees began to shake, and the ground rumbled as I rose. Some were strong enough to approach but I quickly sent daggers into their chests. I turned towards Tyson and my voice faltered. He was once again human, but he was covered in blood. I watched as the others began rising from the ground, they looked angry. I lunged towards Tyson and quickly sent us straight into the air.
This was too much. It was already painful enough flying on my own, but this was a serious workout. Soon I wasn’t even managing to stay above the trees. My wings began to falter and we crash-landed into a small clearing. I had dropped the bag during the flight, it had become too much to carry. Now we were stuck alone in the forest with no supplies.
Tyson was badly wounded, I slowly crawled towards him as my wings began to fold back in. Fear crept over me as I rounded on the wound in his neck. It was deep, blood poured out as I tried to put pressure on the wound. No, no, no. Tyson, you have to be okay. There were no bandages or anything that I could use to tend to his wounds, and I felt hopeless staring down at him.
I began singing the short melody. it was tough through the sobbing, but I forced control in my voice. I lay my head on his chest as I sang, closing my eyes and listening closely to his heartbeat. It was so faint. I didn’t even know if this would work on him. What if this stupid song only healed me? No, it would work. It must work. I sang louder and louder keeping in time with the rhythm of his heart. With each round of the verse, I pulled myself closer and closer towards him. Please.
My tears soaked his shirt as he remained still beneath me. He risked his life for me and now he was dying, and I couldn’t help him. I thought back to how safe I felt in his arms, how at home. I remembered his hand stroking my hair while I was afraid and paralysed. How my fear had melted at his soothing touch. It was so vivid I could almost feel it. Wait. I could feel it.
I opened my eyes to find his warm brown, green forest eyes staring back. I watched as the small cuts on his face began to seel and colour quickly returned. I brushed over where the cuts used to be, not even a scar remained.
“Tyson…”
I breathed out in relief. Before I could continue his hand gently pushed me closer and our lips collided.
He slowly sat up as we kissed, his lips so soft as they moved against mine. I crawled into his lap and wrapped my legs around him. His clothes had shredded during his transformation and he moaned quietly as I moved against him. I could feel him pressing against me as I sat in his lap, I couldn’t help as my hips began moving in response. His lips separated from mine as he looked deep into my eyes, before quickly trailing soft kisses down my neck as he gently lowered me onto the soft grass. He unbuttoned my shirt as he moved, placing a kiss where each button was released. He began gently flicking his tongue on my exposed n***** while he began working on my pants. I began to uncontrollably moan as his tongue explored me. Soon I was laid bare before him and he stared down at me, slowly moving his eyes across my bare skin.
“You’re so f****** gorgeous”
His voice came out a low growl as he moved down closer towards me. I could feel him pressing against my wet core and I couldn’t help but whimper in anticipation.
He buried his head into my neck as he plunged deep inside me. I gasped as he did. My fingers instantly moving to where I felt him. I could feel him bulging through my skin and quickly looked down to see where he was in my stomach.
“Wow”
My voice came out a gasped whisper and Tyson quickly rounded to study my face. A small smile creeping over as he began moving. I couldn’t help crying out as he did. It was amazing. His lips crashed back onto mine as he worked. Stopping my cries in my throat as his tongue began dancing tenderly against mine. We continued for hours, waves of intense pleasure rushing through me with each stroke. Tyson's hands continued to explore me as we moved together. I desperately clung onto his back as each build-up and release was sent through me.
Tyson roared as he finished pushing deep into me. I was exhausted. The intensity had rocked through me in never-ending waves that left me panting and motionless.
I turned to Tyson laying next to me, he smiled down at me as he pulled me close into his chest. I felt at home as my eyes began to close and effortless sleep took me.
