CHAPTER 27

1408 Words
From noon, Alexander ignored Lucia. He still felt annoyed even though the woman had tried to take his side and also gave him a fondling that was enough to calm him down a bit. Even so, the jealousy in Alexander's heart was undeniable. The man is a sufferer of paranoid disorder, all of which he got after facing many trials of life since childhood, especially when he entered the Galloway family. Alexander had seen enough betrayal in his life, whether from his father's men or even Immanuel. No one can be trusted in this world other than him. It makes Alexander into the man he is today. He will not easily trust anyone, especially in choosing people who will side with him. Even though John, the person who had been his only friend, he needed more time to put his trust in that man. Of course, he knew his relationship with Lucia was something forced, but for him there was no difference between a relationship based on a contract or love. Now he was Lucia's lover and he didn't want her to think about anyone other than him. Even though the woman didn't say anything or even object to Sam, he saw the love in her eyes, which made him very upset. Alexander's silence is not without reason, he is just afraid of being ignited by his emotions and out of control while in the office. If that happened, it was not impossible that bad rumors would hit him again and he didn't want that to happen. As for Lucia, she couldn't help but feel restless waiting for what Alexander would do to her after coming home from the company, but she was sure that wasn't a good thing—she thought. This silence really made her uncomfortable, it felt so much better to hear all of Alexander's ramblings or bullshit than to be ignored like that. Let alone to focus on work, it's just so hard to breathe. She rose from her place, then took the initiative to make a cup of coffee to melt the frozen atmosphere. It didn't take long, she was ready with a cup of coffee in her hand, then went over to Alexander's desk, a place where the man was so serious about his work. Lucia admits, when he is focused on work, the man does look charming, especially when he has an arrogant expression. "Sir, your coffee—" "I don't like coffee," he insisted, without even turning his head. The woman took a deep breath. Alexander was like a jealous boy who was sulking, reminding him of a neighbor's kid at that time. "Okay, I'll drink the coffee—" "Put it on the table." Instead of obeying Alexander's orders, Lucia had already prepared to take a sip of the coffee, making Alexander immediately get up and snatch it by force. "This is my coffee!" "You said yourself that you don't like coffee, I'd rather drink it than throw it away." "I don't like coffee, but that doesn't mean I don't want to." What a childish--Lucia thought. "Well then, please enjoy yourself, Mr. Alex." As she was about to return to her desk, Alexander grabbed Lucia's arm and pulled her into his lap. "Where are you going?" "Back to work, of course." "Forget about it, you have other work to do." Lucia frowned at the faucet. "What? I've done everything–" "The coffee is hot, feed me." The woman was even more surprised. "You can wait until the coffee is warm–" "Feed me." In the end, Lucia lost. She had to give in and obey Alexander's wishes. "At least let me sit properly." "So what? Isn't sitting on my lap much more comfortable than on the sofa?" The woman took a deep breath. "Fine, whatever." She reached for a small spoon, then she began to feed Alexander, who was still focused on his work. Spoon after spoonful Lucia gave to the man, patiently feeding Alexander like a very caring mother. Until finally she nailed it when she saw the amazing side of the man, more precisely when Alexander unbuttoned his shirt collar because he felt tight, then returned to work with so much focus. Lucia was stunned because she thought it was Alexander's sexy side, a hard-working man who was so sexy—she thought. So stunned, Lucia did not realize that Alexander had been waiting to be bribed. The moment he realized that he was being watched, Alexander immediately turned to Lucia and they finally looked at each other. Embarrassed, Lucia averted her gaze to avoid Alexander's seductive gaze. "Why are you even looking away?" Alexander asked, trying to get his woman to turn back to him. "Look at me directly, don't look at me secretly like that." "I-I'm sorry—" “Why are you apologizing? I don't mind if you are amazed by my good looks," he teased. “Even though you are indeed handsome, it is ridiculous to hear a confession in person. You really are shameless,” Lucia joked. "This is called confidence." “Confidence and shamelessness are very similar, aren't they?” Alexander opened his mouth. "Coffee." "Yes." Lucia took another spoonful of coffee with the spoon in her hand, then carefully fed the man. However, suddenly Alexander cupped her face and caressed her lips while passing the coffee through his lips to Lucia. Although at first the woman tried hard to refuse it, in the end there was nothing she could do but accept the drink from Alexander's mouth. "I guess I'm not the only one who needs caffeine, you too." “Oh my… you think I'm a chick!” she complained. Alexander laughed when he saw the woman angry. "But you enjoyed it so much." "Damn it!" "Alright, don't be angry." The man pulled Lucia back into his lap after she had been slightly away from Alexander. "Tell me about that Sam." "Sam? Why?" "Tell me about him. Don't hide anything at all." Lucia unhesitatingly told him about Sam, the son of the owner of the apartment she had previously rented. Nothing she hides, except for the fact that the man confessed his love for her, as well as about her feelings for him. Although she still had doubts about her feelings for Sam, Lucia knew well that she was indeed attracted to him as a man, only now that she buried all of that deep because she thought there was no way for the two of them to be together. Alexander listened intently, occasionally taking deep breaths, until finally the story was over. Lucia didn't say anything about her feelings for Sam, but strangely, it made Alexander angry. "Yeah, we're just friends," said Lucia, ending her story. The man looked at him suspiciously. "Is that really all it is?" “W-what do you really want to hear?” "Didn't you ever like him?" The question made Lucia choke. “W-what do you mean—” "Otherwise, you shouldn't be nervous right now." Alexander cupped Lucia's face, then he went down to the woman's neck and strangled her. "It hurts...let me go," she whispered. " Answer me honestly! Did you like him?!” With all her might, the woman shook her head slowly. "N-no-" "You think I'm stupid, huh?! You look at him with such feeling, I can see it clearly!” The man who had lost control tightened his grip on Lucia even more. "Listen to this carefully, Lucia Oliver," he hissed. "I don't like being betrayed. Rather than being betrayed, I'd rather bury you alive so no one can have you." The man strangled her tighter, making it difficult for Lucia to breathe. She tried to rebel, but Alexander's strength was far greater than hers. In the end, she could only shriek and resigned herself to the fact that the man was going to kill her. Just as the woman was almost out of breath, Alexander let go of her stranglehold, then threw Lucia's body onto the floor. The woman wept bitterly at the thought of death that seemed to be getting closer. But she muffled the sound of sobbing because she was too afraid that Alexander would be more angry with her. “Remember what I just said. Don't ever dream of being able to betray me, even thinking about it is not allowed. Before you did that, I might have killed your life," he threatened.
