Sam returned to his house, he didn't even say hello to Mrs. Gwen when he got home. Seeing the woman he loved making out with another man made his heart feel tight, as if there was a fire burning in his heart.
He knew that he couldn't force Lucia's feelings on him, but apparently trying to forgive someone was a difficult thing to do because he really loved that woman--he thought.
In fact, he believed that Lucia was just faking it earlier, but seeing that woman kissing Alexander in front of her, of course, all of that refuted what she was thinking before going there. That woman is not a b***h that money can buy. Of course, the fondling that Lucia gave the man was a form of her affection for Alexander. He felt guilty for thinking that Lucia was doing it for such money, it was only natural for the woman to be annoyed with him.
What should I do? He thought.
The man lay down on the bed, trying to forget for a moment what he had seen earlier. The memory of when Lucia kissed Alexander made him restless, his mind was also confused. Sam thought she was old enough to let Lucia go, but in reality she was like a jealous boy.
Seeing her son back in such a state, Mrs Gwen rushed into Sam's room. In her hand was a tray with a plate of snacks and tea, and she knocked quickly on the door. Seeing his mother coming, Sam then wiped the tears that almost fell.
She saw Sam who was sitting absentmindedly, then she sat right next to him. "Have you eaten, Sam?" she asked.
The man nodded slowly "Yes, I have. Have you eaten yet?” he asked again.
"Alright, just finished. Mom made some kinds of cookies, try them.”
Sam knew his mother had been trying to cheer him up, so he didn't want to disappoint her even though he had no appetite at all. He took two pieces of cookies and ate them. His voice held back tears. "It's delicious," he said.
Mrs. Gwen could see that her son was holding back his grief. "If you want to cry, just cry, I'll keep it a secret from anyone," she said.
Hearing that, Sam, who had been trying to be strong, felt his tears starting to well up in his eyes, then slowly the tears just flowed "I don't want to cry," he whispered.
However, Mrs Gwen then hugged her son. "It's okay, cry."
The sound of Sam's crying finally sounded, but it managed to be slightly muffled by his mother's embrace. Mrs. Gwen knew Sam's feelings for Lucia very well, it must have been very painful, especially since she was her son's first love.
However, the woman is very wise, she wants this to be a life lesson for her son, that not all desires can be obtained even though they have worked hard. For a long time, Sam cried in his mother's arms, much like when he was a child.
Finally, he felt tired, the cry was no longer heard, leaving only the shame that Sam now felt. “Sorry… I was being too childish.”
"It's okay, heartbreak because of a failed first love is an important phase in life. If you are meant to be together, of course God will lead the way for you."
Sam nodded slightly. "Yes, I will remember that, Mom."
"I don't know what happened earlier, but it doesn't seem like a good thing."
"Yeah... that's how it is, I'm having a hard time telling it because it's too stifling."
Mrs. Gwen let go of her embrace, then she stared at her son intently. "Just let it go and just believe that all this is the best way for all of us."
“I tried to be sincere, but it was so hard… so hard that I felt like denying everything.”
“Yeah, it was like that in the beginning. I hope you can do it because you are my son." Mrs. Gwen rose from her seat. “Don't just think about Lucia, but also think about your future. How long are you going to stay unemployed, huh?”
Seeing his mother, who was now standing with her hands on her hips, made Sam chuckle, amused. "Gosh... well, I'm not looking for a lover, I'm just looking for a job!"
"Well, that's much better."
The woman walked away, leaving her son to enjoy his cookies and tea. She did regret Lucia's rejection of her son, but she also didn't want to be selfish by forcing the woman to accept her son's love.
"Yeah, this must be for the best," she muttered.

In a cafe, Delilah is feeling restless. After Alexander returned, she couldn't sleep well because she was so restless. Alexander's statement saying that he already had a girlfriend, especially that she was the woman she had rumored to be a prostitute, made her a little worried.
If one day the man asked her to come and clarify everything, then all her efforts would have been in vain to bring down Alexander's reputation all this time. "Damn it!" she hissed.
She reached for her glass and took a sip of the cocktail she had ordered earlier. Today, she was about to meet someone. He was a very important person and it was time for him to help her now.
She checked the watch in her hand, confirming the time to meet them which he should have come a long time ago. "Damn it! Where exactly did that bastard go?!” she grumbled.
Now she turned to her cell phone, then immediately called the man for an answer. It didn't take long for the man to answer her phone call. "Hello-"
"Where are you? I've been waiting for almost 30 minutes, but you haven't come yet!” she complained.
A small chuckle came from the telephone line. "Oh my... It's only been 30 minutes you've been grumbling, especially since I've been waiting for a phone call from you for 30 years."
“Stop talking nonsense and come here right away!”
"Yeah, I'm on my way at the moment."
His words were cut short when Delilah hung up the phone. She was irritated by the circumstances that forced her to call him back. If it wasn't for Alexander threatening her position as well as William, of course she wouldn't be contacting the man again, considering she had painstakingly asked him not to appear in front of her again.
When Alexander announced that the woman was his lover, Immanuel spread the news to everyone in the company, although not all of them believed it, especially those who were under her control, but it would be more widespread and trustworthy if Alexander actually brought women that came into the Galloway family.
Her anxiety is not only about Alexander, but her son William, who is not competent at his work. The man preferred playing cards in a casino, or wasting company money for his pleasure. If it weren't for his secretary, who Delilah chose directly, maybe everyone would know right away that William was indeed far from everyone's expectations.
She admits that Alexander is indeed very smart and promises to be a leader in the future. The proof is, when his career was shaken when rumors about him frequently changing partners, it did not make the man just give up. Alexander did not waver, the man chose to take one step back from William and then formed his own company with the money he had.
The results look satisfactory. In just 1 year, Alexander managed to develop the company and even to have two subsidiaries and one of them is in the city where he and Lucia live now. Although the company is not yet comparable to the company owned by the Galloway family, his success in forming a new company in such a short time, can already make it a benchmark that Alexander is indeed very competent and this cannot be tolerated.
It wasn't that she ever tried to interfere with Alexander's efforts, but he was very tough and difficult to fight. In the end, she just had to be content with the results she got now. At least, William had not lost anything, especially his position as the eldest son in the Galloway family, as well as the most powerful candidate to become the leader in the future—she thought.
Not long after that, a man came up to her. The man was in his 50s, almost the same age as Immanuel. The man smiled broadly to show a row of neatly clean teeth, but Delilah responded with a cynical look.
"What took you so long?" she complained.
The man ignored Delilah for a moment, he sat down and snatched the cocktail from the woman's hand. “This is very sweet, I want it too. Please order for me.”
The woman snorted in annoyance "You're still as shameless as ever, Steve."
Hearing that the man named Steve related, he was amused. "And you're still the same as ever, so ... seductive," he joked.
He is a former aide to Delilah, as well as the biological father of William Galloway. They had an extramarital affair long before Immanuel met Elise—Alexander's mother.
Immanuel was not ignorant about the affair, he even knew about the status of William, who was not his biological son. It's just that Delilah's cleverness covered it all, making him feel frustrated and waiting for the right time to expose the woman's rot and reclaim all power in the Galloway company and erase Delilah's power forever.
However, the woman is not as stupid as he thought. She paid Steve to run away not long after William was born, making the investigation and Immanuel's efforts to uncover William's status be hampered.
Instead of getting proof that William was not his son, Immanuel actually had to get bad rumors about him trying to bring down his wife on false charges. This was because one of the hospitals where he carried out DNA tests secretly actually cooperated with Delilah and exchanged the DNA test results. Finally, the published results showed that William was his son and he was labeled ugly by the public.
It was the worst time of his life and that's when Elise's presence changed everything. Even though, at that time, conditions still did not improve or even worse than before, making him have to leave Elise and the little Alexander, who had just been born, to fight Delilah in the company and all that paid off when he managed to get his credibility back.
He took advantage of this to officially include Alexander as part of the Galloway family, even though on the birth certificate, the name Delilah was written there and that made Alexander furious.
The woman looked at Steve with annoyance. "Okay, let's stop this conversation. Let's talk about something much more important than your gibberish."
Steve looked at Delilah intently. "If you call me that, it means there's an important matter, right?"
"Yes, it has to do with our son, William," she said.
"Did that i***t go back for a DNA test?"
"Not! It's not about that, it's about Alexander. Immanuel rendered the rumors I worked so hard to make useless right now.”
“Oh my… if it's just a rumor, can't you handle it yourself? I'm sure you don't need my help if you're just dealing with rumors.”
Delilah took a deep breath. "This is not just a rumor, it's time William and Alexander fought openly for the position as successors at the Galloway company."
"Then what do you want to do?"
“Keep an eye on Alexander, then get evidence that he has multiple partners. I want there to be rumors or much stronger evidence to make his image bad and get everyone to side with William. If necessary, he should be exposed to another scandal."
Steve nodded slowly. "It's not a difficult matter for me, as long as you can pay it well."
Hearing that, Delilah immediately took out a brown envelope filled with money. "Take it. This is just the down payment. I will give you the rest after your work is done.”
Steve reached for the envelope and counted the number, not a few, enough for him to have a good time with the girls in the brothel—he thought. But he needs something else from Delilah, who won his heart 35 years ago. "This is not enough," he said.
Hearing that, Delilah was wide-eyed. "What do you mean it's not enough? This is a huge amount, you know?!” Under the table, Steve's feet gently stroked Delilah's calf, suddenly the woman screamed in surprise "What are you doing?!" she snapped.
The man chuckled. "I just want fair pay, not just money but a caress from you, my dear lady," he teased.
Delilah glared sharply. For her, this was too much. "You—" she was cut off as she slowly pointed to an old photo where they were making love.
“Wouldn't it be nice if we did it again, madam?
Delilah swallowed her dry saliva, of course, as a normal woman who had not received a caress from her husband in a long time, she felt the need for a man's touch. She took a deep breath. "Gosh… you have to satisfy me or you'll regret it," she threatened.
Hearing that, Steve chuckled softly. "Don't worry, madam. My ability to serve you has not diminished in the slightest.”
