CHAPTER 24

Lucia sighed heavily. Outside, it was getting late. Of course, they were late for work.

Because of Alexander, now she must be willing to have the attention of all employees because the news about her closeness to Alexander, of course, has spread widely since the first day of work.

She couldn't deny it, now she was just trying to act nonchalant and play dumb.

Upon arrival at the company, all the employees immediately bowed their bodies and lowered their gazes as a form of respect, but that didn't apply to Lucia. The female employees who felt jealous of her, of course, looked at her cynically, some even showed a blatant dislike of her.

However, she didn't want to worry. Her current status may indeed be a lover of Alexander, but that does not cover the fact that she is nothing more than a mistress of Alexander.

"I want all the reports that were previously managed, give them all to Miss Lucia," he ordered his employees.

"Yes, sir."

The man then turned to his girlfriend and secretary. "Don't take too long, we have to continue with that," he said with a wink.

Of course, just as everyone was shocked, they immediately thought of something they shouldn't have. In fact, Alexander didn't mean that, but their conversation along the way about the Galloway family and all their conflicts.

Alexander said his goal of making Lucia a lover, other than to hold her accountable for the incident 1 year ago, of course not entirely because they had arrived at the company.

After Alexander actually left, they all showed their hatred for Lucia even more clearly. "Gosh… I didn't know there was a quick way to get promoted," one of them joked, followed by laughter from the others.

Lucia sighed heavily, the humiliation she received from them was nothing. She had felt pain far greater than that, it was nothing to her– Lucia thought.

She'd had enough of playing the victim, but not this time. What's the point of her being the love of a rich and influential man like Alexander if she can't get protection from him?

Lucia smirked. "If you want, feel free to give it a try," Lucia said with an intimidating expression on her face.

Suddenly the answer took the women by surprise. They thought Lucia was an easy person to be intimidated by her appearance, but all of that was apparently wrong.

"Gosh… you really are shameless, huh?"

"Why? Are you afraid to give it a try? If you can, just do what I do, don't grumble like a loser."

She knew this was crazy! She challenged some women who were jealous and that, of course, meant chaos.

"You really are a damn b***h!" hissed one of the women Lucia believed was their leader.

"Why? You're scared–" she stopped when suddenly the woman threw a hard slap in the face.

“You're messing with the wrong people, b***h! You're just a lust puppet, why are you so proud, huh?!”

Lucia chuckled a little. "At first I felt it was nothing, but seeing you guys are so jealous of me, it feels like this position is very valuable and I'm proud of it."

"You crazy woman," she hissed.

The woman took a deep breath. "Let me show you what true madness is."

Lucia suddenly fell as she purposely nudged her body against the woman as if she had been pushed, then she winced in pain holding her cheek that had been slapped. It suddenly made everyone pay attention to them, wondering what had happened, because the slapping had passed so quickly that no one noticed.

They started swarming around Lucia and the other women who were trying to intimidate her, especially when she started crying as if she had suffered the most.

"Hey! Stop! What are you doing, uh?!” the woman snapped in panic when she saw so many people arriving.

"What did I do to you, Miss Rain?" asked Lucia as she sobbed. "What did I do to make your heart hurt me?"

Hearing that, everyone started whispering about the woman named Rain. The woman panicked even more, as did the rest of her colleagues, who could now only remain silent and hope not to be involved in this.

However, Lucia wouldn't let that happen. Now she pointed one by one between them. “You guys too! Why are you intimidating me for no apparent reason? Please explain to me what I did wrong?!”

Seeing all the women panicking in fear made Lucia happy. She laughed in her heart, amused by her behavior this time. She didn't know how much fun it was to pretend to be a victim like this, it was only natural that Judith used to do it so often to get everyone's sympathy and attention, including Alexander—she thought.

The commotion in the hall of the building finally reached Alexander, who was compiling some files while waiting for the other files that Lucia was supposed to bring for him. He immediately got up from his spot and ran towards the crowd.

Seeing Alexander's arrival, suddenly the women were frightened, while Lucia actually used it to steal everyone's attention while at the same time asserting her position by Alexander's side so that no one would disturb her in the future.

The woman immediately ran to Alexander's arms, then burst into tears in the man's arms. “Master… am I wrong for successfully making you fall in love with me? Am I wrong for loving you?”

Alexander looked at the woman in surprise, then he looked at Lucia as if giving her the code to join in doing the drama this morning. She's a sly woman, but I like her. That woman would be useful to help him solve the problems in the Galloway family—Alexander thought.

“Gosh… what do you mean, huh? Since when is being loved and loving someone a mistake? Actually, what is it?” asked Alexander, pretending to be panicked. Yes ... even though he actually panicked, especially when he saw the slap on his lover's cheek. "Who slapped you?"

Lucia told her what had happened to her after Alexander left, while the women tried to defend themselves and denied any excessive violence. Alexander really wanted to laugh at all the drama, especially when he saw Lucia was enjoying it so much.

"I'm really scared, Master," said Lucia, ending her story.

Alexander then carried the woman, then glared at all the girls who had disturbed his lover. "10 minutes. I'm giving all of you 10 minutes to get all your stuff out of this office. If I see you for more than 10 minutes, don't blame me for doing anything else," he threatened as he walked away, leaving those who were now screaming hysterically for forgiveness from him.

Arriving in the room, Lucia immediately got out of the man's embrace. "Thank you-"

"Apparently you're good at taking advantage of people."

Lucia smiled bitterly. "Isn't that all reasonable? The lover of Alexander Galloway became a victim of bullying. That's not funny. I think I'm starting to enjoy this role. Why? Do you mind that I'm using you?" she asked sarcastically.

Alexander chuckled. "Impossible. I just want to say that I really like it. Alexander's lover can't be weak, so this time you made me proud."

Hearing that, Lucia couldn't help but chuckle softly. She thought that this way would make Alexander feel uncomfortable with her, but who would have thought he liked her even more?
