CHAPTER 9THE disappearance of Miss Nettie’s will changed the whole situation in a way that is easily apparent. Unless the will were found, or another in its place, it meant that the old woman had died intestate. If that was so, her property would be divided equally between her niece, Gail, and her three nephews, Richard, Chase and Eliot.
