The door
A long time ago in a foreign land there was a tradition done once in three
years called “treasure hunting’’. Three men were usually selected for this.
hunt, the reward was usually massive, although lives were lost during the
hunt. Participation upon selection is compulsory..
There was a young vibrant man who lived in the land close to the palace.
He was in love with one of the maidens in the palace. He was among the
three men selected to participate in the treasure hunt, but this time the
The reward was different. Whoever finds these treasures will be married to
the princess. This clearly means that any relationship the winner had was
to end
.
This reward of marrying the princess made the other selected men eager
and excited about the hunt, but this young man was sad! He had a lover
waiting to be married, he would never want to break her heart . But what
could he do? He had already been chosen!
The lover of this young man heard the news that her beloved had been
chosen for the hunt and that the reward was a royal marriage . The lover
At once, they sorted ways to get the map that indicated where the treasure was,
As one of the maidens in the palace, getting the map wasn't so difficult. At
At least she had found a means to keep her lover alive.
!
The day of the hunt arrived, the treasure hunters assembled at the palace
as a sign of readiness and acceptance. When the hunters were about
leaving the palace, the maiden made her way through the crowds and
quickly handed her lover a map and a short note , kissed him goodbye
and left .
The three hunters made their way through the woods and finally found a
building which looked like an abandoned castle, ‘this should be it!’ one of
the man said as he pushed the door as hard as he could.
“wow!” They chroused as the door opened. Inside the castle were four
colorful doors - red, black, green and a white door. Each door had a description -
“What you seek lies beyond one of these doors. He who opens
the wrong door dies!.”
The doors looked beautiful and one could mistake them as treasures.
itself .
“You both know that I am close to the king, so I know what and where the
treasure would be!” The proudest amongst them said, but nobody listened.
He was so eager and convinced. He rushed to the white door and opened
it! And a large hole opened up underneath him and swallowed him up.
Terrified by what happened, the other hunter turns to the young lover
said “well, it's just the two of us now! The king loves red and I am sure that
is where the treasure must be hidden!”
He reached for the red door and opened it! At once, he was pinned into
the ground by a mysterious spear which seemed to have come out of the
door.
Now the young man knew he was all alone. Scared and confused, he stood
Watching the two doors left - the green and black door .
As he was considering which to open, he remembered the map given to
him by his lover. Quickly he searched for it in his beg and found it.
He opened it and found a short written note coloured in green and the
The note said “It is hidden behind the green door!!”.
With a sigh of great relief on his face, he quickly reached for the green
door and opened it.
Was it the treasure behind the green door? What decision does the lover
make? Could she stand watching her man marry the princess and live
together in the palace? Or would she let him die so no one would have
him?

The more we think about this question, the harder it is to answer. It
involves the study of the human heart, think of this question not as if it
depended on you but rather on the hot-blooded, sad, jealous lover.
How often in her quiet thoughts had she seen her lover opening the wrong
door which awaited death! But how often had she thought of her lover
opening the right door, how she had seen his happy face as he returned
from the hunt, running to meet the princess with the appearance of victory. When
She had seen them get married and when she had seen them walk away
together.
Would it not be better for him to die quickly and go wait for her in that
blessed place of the future!? And yet the thoughts of her lover being dead
scared her.
Her decision had been shown but it had been made after days and nights.
of thoughts as she quickly wrote down the note indicating the green door.
The answer to her decision isn't left for me to answer and so I leave it with
you.
