The Wild Night

Chapter 1 (2 months later)

Astrid stretched feel her back pop she groaned. Siren grimace her blue hair blowing around her. She eye sky.

Night of the full moon was always interesting cause people who turn to animals came forward. She spotted Axel first. His gray fur and red eyes where very noticeable.

She spotted new kid who they learn was really name is Austin. She told him after phone call she had with Greg. There coyote who loved dig up info.

He seemed shocked but said he now remember his mom call him Austie for short or nickname. But he rather be called Validen since he started a new life. She responded kindly with it and understand his wishes.

Siren tap her shoulder make Astrid look spot fox, coyotes, wolves. She smiled lifted a hand they all made happy sound. Then ran off make her Siren hop onto the back of a truck there other friend Bane drove.

Astrid grip back as he drove follow pack of animals. She spotted more join in moonlight run. She smiled happily. Slowly she let out howl she practice.

Siren join her. Both of them mimic a wolf sound Astrid knew the truth of Siren. She a shifter but in hiding. Astrid didn't care that group of people running with Axel, Valdien where all different.

She knew deep in her heart she was as well. She spotted a ghost perch on back next to Siren smiling at her. She never asked Siren about the person and didn't dare.

All she knew was a small kid who laughed at feel of wind in his face. Siren turn to face Astrid.

"I am gonna run with them!"

"For the love of God. Don't….." she never finished her sentence as Siren jumped out of the back turn mid jump and then rolled but able catch up fast.

Astrid hated when Siren did that. Bane waved her forward which she yipped and ran forward to meet up with others. Astrid hair flew into her face make her push it back. Axel moved jumped into the truck

She laughed hugged him gentle then lean back her eyes locked on sky. She felt bad that she couldn't join on the run. Bane tap window and Axel climb onto the roof howling and it echo.

She loved hear others return cry in different throats. She cries out join the best she can. Howl came from her throat. Though she was human.

Every full moon she came to hear her friends sing in animal forms.

All the time she wished can turn to beast.

Bane parked the car at a beach. Astrid, Axel hop out of the truck back and wind hit her. She gasped in shock shivering. Bane moved place a jacket on her. She smiled turn spot full moon hit moon perfectly.

Moon shine on water make it shine and sparkle in soft light as her friends in beast form danced and made happy sound. She closed her eyes breath in salty air, crisp wood scent of Bane. She loved this time of year from spring to fall.

Wind was always smell of crisp woods smell, salty air mix together. Slowly she open her eyes. Her pack mates looked happy as they chase each other or some cuddle close.

"It beautiful sight."

"It really is."

She slide her hands into Bane spare jacket spot him in heavy gray jacket. She smiled turn spot Axel curled up next to a tiger both sleeping together. She didn't mind.

Other packs where start to allow cross breeding since it seem good for them. She realize this first time when a pack member name Storm mated with a human called Joy. She eye Storm a dragon with his son who only five years old.

Astrid move over to Storm and his son. His son turn and squeaked happily at her. Storm bowed his head at Astrid in knowledge. She rubbed his muzzle.

Storm smiled at her happily. She picked up Storm son who pawed at her leg.

"How the wife?" Storm sighed.

She knew wasn't good. Storm wife got sick with an unknown cold that clutch pack in fear she turn spoke out.

"Pack! Send prayers for Storm wife to survive through winter to see her son grow!"

Pack made a loud cry of sorrow and happy encourage sound. Storm nuzzled Astrid back then his son. She prayed that Storm didn't get sick from give birth to his son.
