My Baby Wolf

1212 Words
I went outside and Emily almost scared the s**t out of me. “Something happened! They called from your daughter’s school. I already told Dr. Williams that you had an emergency”, she said, and gave me my stuff. “Thanks, Emily”, I said, and rushed to the bus stop. I got there in no time; I needed to see my daughter. With every minute that passes, I feel anxious. Then a car stopped at the bus stop, and it was the Alpha himself. “Get in. She’s also my daughter”, he said, and I didn’t want to get in, but my daughter is first in the matter, so I got in. The trip was silent and almost weird. I haven’t seen him so worried before. When we got there, I didn’t even wait for him to turn the engine off. I was already out of the car, looking for my baby. “She has a fever. She was ok at one minute and suddenly she couldn’t even get a hold of her”, she explained. “I’m a nurse, so I’ll take care of her”, I assured her. I went out with my little girl in my arms. She was heating in fever, and I was frustrated because at the moment my magic did nothing, so I got in the car silently with her. “How is she?”, he asked me. “She has a fever, but she’ll be fine”, I lied. Since my magic didn’t work. “Thank goodness”, he said, relieved. That, on the other hand, caught my attention, since he hasn’t been bothered with MY daughter’s whereabouts. Is he sick or something? I shrugged the feeling and continued to look at my little baby girl with worry. This isn’t good and I know it. There’s this bad feeling about this fever that doesn’t let me even think about a good spell to make her feel better. By the time I’m worried, we have arrived. I got out of the car with my daughter in my arms and turned around. “Thank you for the ride”, I said honestly. “It was nothing. If she needs anything else, just call my office”, he said, and I took that as a goodbye. I turned around just to hear him say something more. “Oh, and Roxy, there’s this gathering that requires your assistance”, he says, and I turn around with confusion. “It is a gathering of all pack leaders with their family and, since you are Tyler’s mother, you have to be there”, he finally says, expecting me to say something but I just nod. “So, when is this gathering?”, I asked. “In three days actually, but by that time our daughter should be fine”, he hesitated. “I won’t leave my daughter. You know that, right?”, I said, and he clenched his jaw. “Yes, I know”, he replies. I was about to reach the door but I didn’t have a free hand, so he came to open the door for me. “Thanks”, I said, a bit uncomfortable. He stood there looking at the living room as if it was out of another world. I turned just to make sure if he was leaving or what. “Are you going to stare at my living room all day or what?”, I asked in a blurt that shocked him out of his thoughts. “No, I’ll leave. Call me if she needs anything”, he said. “Ok. Goodbye”, I said softly. He nodded and closed the front door. I thought he would never leave. I took my little wolf to her bed and made sure she was resting just fine. I went downstairs to cook some chicken soup for her and use some magic so she could heal. Once I’m done, I get upstairs with her plate. “Honey, wake up”, I called her. She woke up seconds later. “Hi, mommy”, she said weakly. “Hi there, my love”, I said in a sweet tone. “I got some chicken soup for you and later I’ll prepare the bathtub for you, ok?”, I said, and she just nodded with a weak smile. I made her eat almost all the soup, but she was full, and I told her it was ok. I prepared the bathtub for her and helped her take her bath. Once I was done, I put her to rest with an iced pad on her forehead for the fever. “Thanks mom”, she barely said, and I kissed her cheek. I went downstairs to clean the kitchen and eat to later use my magic on her. If I don’t let her rest on her own, my magic can harm her unconsciously. I sigh as I clean all the mess and eat some soup myself. Once I finished, I went upstairs to see how she was doing. I touched her and her fever had increased. f**k, this is not good. My healing spell didn’t work when I got her out of school. I’ll try again and if it fails, I need to get to her conscious. I prepared myself to cast the spell and it didn’t work. I let out a sigh as I saw my baby wolf asleep. I got up and searched for a cup of water, a bit of dirt and some candles. I placed the three items surrounding her bed. Ok. Let’s get started, I thought to myself. I sat on the floor and closed my eyes. “Fire, earth, water and air. Please, guide me”, I pleaded the elements. I concentrate and picture my daughter and they guide me to a forest. It was a bit dark; the mist wasn’t helping me. Then I saw it, a golden wolf with purple eyes like mine. It was beautiful. She looked at me straight in the eye and then she bowed at me. “It’s an honor to finally meet you, Alpha”, she said, and I shook my head. I’m not an alpha, I thought. “It seems I can’t completely reach your wolf, my Alpha. Neither your lycan”, she continued. “What?”, was all I could mutter. “We don’t have much time. I will shift in the next few days, but in order for us to survive, we need to be with a strong and healthy lycan. I have already called a closed by lycan. I know it’s confusing, but you must let us go”, she said in a hurry. “Wait! How will I find you?”, I asked desperately. “You’ll remember, Alpha”, was the last thing she told me. I gasped for air as I woke from the trance. I heard the front door fly open and I ran to my room to get the silver bullets and my gun. When I returned to my daughter’s room, there was a lycan beside her bed.
