Moon Chasers
I don't quite remember how I got to the territory of the Moon Chasers but I was there with a paper in hand and a bell in my collar. My clothes were tainted in blood and I could no longer smell it. My vision was a bit blurry and my feet hurt. I don't know how much time I've been walking but there was nothing else in my brain than "Run!".
I tripped on my own feet and hurt my hands and knees with the impact. That's when I heard them. Wolves, a lot of them. Their smell hit my nose and by instinct, I ran. I ran as fast as my feet could get me and even if I heard them came closer to me, I didn't look back. When I thought I lost them, he appeared in front of me. Powerful, tall, just by his posture I could tell he was an Alpha. His whole body screamed power but at the very moment, I was just tired of running and fell to my own feet. When my face hit the ground I couldn't stand up anymore. I was panting and my stomach ached. Every part of me was screaming for food and rest. I had cuts in my hands, knees and almost every part of my body. My elbows were covered in blood and so my knees.
He kneeled and removed the hair off my face. For me, he was just a shadow, I could barely see. My vision then was way too blurry to watch his face carefully. I caught his scent and it was kind of nostalgic. That's when I heard him say, "Take her to the pack doctor". He was about to take the ball of paper in my hand and I tightened my fist. Looking for his eyes, I found myself looking straight to him and even if my vision was getting worse by the second I knew those green eyes were looking straight back at mine. Someone tried to carry me but I didn't let him touch me. I growled at him and he flinched away from me. The Alpha noticed my reaction to his men and gave me a small smirk while he watched his men's reaction playfully.
"Ok little girl, I'll take you to the pack doctor. Will you let me?" he said offering his hand.
I hesitated at first but I saw no harm in his eyes so I took his hand. Instantly I could feel the warmth emanating from his body and I felt at home. I let him carry me to the pack doctor but deep inside me, I knew that as soon as I get to the pack doctor, my wounds will be healed. I just needed food, I was starving and it wasn't a secret. My stomach was nothing but making noises all the way to the pack doctor.
He let me down in the bed and the pack doctor appeared to be a woman with black hair and brown eyes. She seemed tired and was looking for any injury at my body. The Alpha never let my side and I was happy about it.
"How is she?" he asked a little worried even if my wounds were healing correctly.
"She's fine. Her wounds are healing faster than I could tell and her vitals are not that bad. She's in bad shape though, she needs to eat properly" she said looking at my skinny body. She took my hand and traced her finger trough my forearm. "She's way too skinny" she said finally meeting the Alpha gaze.
He nodded as a response. "Look at her, feed her and let her rest, that's the only thing I can say", said the pack doctor. The Alpha looked at me as he was analyzing something and then he finally replied to the pack doctor. "Thank you, Liza. I'll take care from here now".She bowed her head and said, "Yes, Alpha".
Soon we were alone in the room. He came closer to me and I didn't react. I was just looking at his green eyes and wondering if I can eat him alive and escape from the territory without being called cannibal. I was way too hungry and he had almost the amount of meat my body needed. My wolves started to bark at me, they were hungry too and we wouldn't mind committing cannibalism. He noticed my long stare and broke the silence.
"Let's get you something to eat", he said and I automatically jumped out of bed. And as expected I fell to the floor. I couldn't even stand anymore. All the energy that was in my body was used to heal myself. He came to my side with a worried expression covering his features. He looked for any injury from the fall and when he was sure nothing happened, he let out a sigh in relief. I didn't know why he was so worried about a mere seven-year-old girl who didn't even belong to his pack.
I didn't know back then until he told me years later that the moon goddess sent me to replace his mate bond and keep him sane.
