The Last One

    "Come in", I said knowing the person behind that door. He got in, anxious and when he met my eyes some of that anxiety left his body. A little bit tense, dad approached me. I was sitting in my bed, hugging my knees like a little girl still hiding my scent, even if I knew they were not in the pack house anymore. His green eyes looking for my golden ones made me feel worried about his meeting. This was just feeling like ten years ago when he only watched me closely and both of us were silent. 

    "Come here, little muffin", he said and sat on the edge of my bed. I obeyed and sat next to him. Looking at the floor, still wondering why Eden and Rylee wanted me to run, it wasn't like them to be like that. Dad hugged me tight and I did the same. 

    "Who are they?", I asked looking up at dad. He sighed heavily before answering. 

    "They were from the Twilight Blood Pack", he finally said.

    "Why they would come to this land?", I asked in disbelief.

    "Do you remember when I told you not to tell a single soul about your last name?", he said and I nodded. "They don't even know your real last name and they want you to fight other she-wolves. All because they are looking for a-", he stopped as if I didn't need to hear the rest. "I won't let them take you away from me", he said tightening and pulling me closer to him. We stayed like that for a while and I knew why. Dad was scared to his bones at the mere idea of losing me, the feeling was so strong that even without our bond I would notice his fear. But the Moon Goddess chose me to replace his mate bond and keep him sane so my bond wasn't just any bond. 

    Dad was slowly getting more relaxed by my scent and touch. He was tired and in our own embrace, he fell asleep. I laid down with him for a while making sure he was ok. He hasn't sleep correctly in the past few days so I let him sleep in my bedroom. I took a shower and went downstairs to find Kyle and his mate, Chelsea.

    "Hey!", I waved at them. Kyle saw my short shorts in disapproval and then he tried to carry my ass upstairs to get myself changed. "Let me go!", I said to an overprotective Kyle. 

    "You are going nowhere with that. Get yourself something more appropriate to go outside", he said trying to go upstairs but I was holding the railing hard enough so he couldn't drag me. 

    "I'm going to play tag with the pups! Dumbass!", I said in an attempt to get rid of Kyle but instead, he came with a comeback.

    "More reason to change that outfit of yours. You are an Alpha, a leader, and an example. They will try to be like you and my daughter will want to play along with the pups so thats definitely a no", he said pulling me again.

    "I'll shift you i***t! They'll see me naked anyway!", another attempt to get rid of Kyle goes to failure when Gary comes in and whistles at my comment. 

    "I'm definitely playing tag", he said and Kyle and I glared at him. This wasn't the time or place for Gary's comments. I really wanted to cut his balls and feed the rogues with them. 

    "No, you are not", growled Kyle.

    "Honey, put the poor girl down", pleaded a pregnant Chelsea who took sit on the sofa. Kyle put me down after glaring at Gary and took sit next to Chelsea. 

    "Honey, she's not twelve anymore. Let her be", she winked me.

    "That's exactly why!", shouted Kyle. 

    "Honey, relax", tried Chelsea to calm him and she was succeding due to the mate bond. "She'll find her mate soon and trust me, she'll have a lot of trouble with him", chuckled Chelsea. 

    I gulped at the mention of my mate. I wasn't ready yet. And if I found him I wanted an omega for sure. I smiled at the thought of my mate being an omega. I'm an Alpha, I want submission and power. I don't want other Alpha trying to be the one in charge. I don't even know what the hell is flinching. Even when dad growled and everyone was scared to the bones, I wasn't.

    Chelsea's words seemed to calm Kyle. I glared at Gary for being an asshole and he just shrugged. Maybe being with me all the time made him less scared of me. Still, I wanted to feed the rogues with his balls. 

    "Let's go", I motioned Gary to follow me. He was serious when he said he was going to play tag along with the pups, even if he said that to upset Kyle. 

    We left the pack house and as if they were waiting for me, I met almost all the pups outside. 

    "Lilah!", they all screamed and came to hug me. "Can we play hide and seek?", asked one of the pups. 

    "I thought today we were going to play tag", I answered returning their smiles.

    "Yeah but Carter showed us how to pass unnoticed", one of them said.

    "So you want me to find you?", I said and all of them nodded in agreement. "Ok. Hide and seek will be", I said and they ran to the forest as fast as they could. I heard their bones and noticed their clothes near the trees. 

    "Count to ten, muffin", mocked Gary before running into the woods with them.
