The Last One

The Alpha's Daughter

    He looked at me like I was something new but I remember him from yesterday. I couldn't see him properly because it was dark and my vision was blurry but I do remember his scent. 

    Kyle was expecting me to answer him but I didn't. I wasn't sure how to respond. Now I was somehow the Alpha's daughter but I couldn't say that because I created that bond yesterday. I was getting nervous by the second.

    "Don't say anything", said Eden in a bored tone as if she knew what was coming. 

    Then his scent hit me and I could feel Eden and Rylee's tails waving in happiness. Leo appeared in the frame of the door and immediately Kyle and Eliza bowed their heads. When I met Leo's eyes they seemed relieved by looking at me. He took a glance at my plate and sat beside me. With Leo on my left side and Kyle on my right side, I felt even tinnier in my chair. 

    "Good morning, Eliza", greeted Leo. "Is this her first plate?", he asked pointing me. 

    "Yes, Alpha", replied Eliza with a sweet smile. No wonder why she is Mrs. Pancakes. 

    Alpha Leo took another glance at my plate who looked cleaned and said, "Serve her another. She's way too thin". 

    Eliza didn't waste time and filled my plate with bacon, eggs, and more pancakes. She also added a blueberry muffin for me and I felt my mouth watering. Leo just took coffee instead of eating again. I devoured my second plate like a beast. As soon as I was finished, Eliza gave me a glass of orange juice and I felt blessed with Mrs. Pancakes. Kyle didn't say anything but I bet he noticed his Alpha's behavior towards me. 

    Leo stood up and thanked Eliza for the food. Looking at him I did the same and followed him like I was his tail. Kyle was still with a confused look but I didn't care. He led me to what I can tell it's his office. He sat behind the desk and gestured me to come closer. I did and as soon as he lifts me to its lap he starts working. 

    I just sat there looking at numbers, territories and attack files. Time passed by and I was cuddling in his lap. Soon I fell asleep but something woke me up. I sniffed and got tense, something was up. The smell in the air became different and Leo noticed my uneasiness.

    "Rogues", my wolves barked. 

    With that said our mindlink exploded with a warrior near the border.

    "Rogues passed the border".

    Leo stood up with me in his arms and replied, "I'm on my way". Leo put me on the chair he was sitting before and caressed my cheek. "Stay here. I'll be right back", he said and kissed my forehead. He left me in his office and I started to hug my knees. The bond was powerful enough for me to miss him already, my wolves knew that and they were worried about Leo. Time passed and he came back without a single scratch. I stood up and ran to him happy that he returned. I hugged him and sadly for me I could only hug his leg. He was way too tall but at the same time, I'm way too short. I looked up to see him with a smile. He took me in his arms and sat on his chair like before. 

    "Do you want to talk about your nightmare last night?", he asked softly. 

    I was about to say something but I couldn't recall what was my nightmare about so I frowned. 

    "Is ok if you don't want to", he said with a worried look on those beautiful green eyes of him. I nodded and he kissed my temples before going back to work. I looked at the files and the maps. I could read them well but I didn't know when did I learn to do it. I shook the feeling and saw that the attacks have been increasing in the north of the border but between the neutral territory and our border was the Dark Moon Pack. Leo was looking at the numbers of warriors and our current losses. 

    "Who are they?", I asked with my finger in the Dark Moon Pack's territory.

    "The Dark Moon Pack, basically our competition", he said with a disgusted tone.

    "But why are the rogues coming from their territory?", I asked and he frowned. 

    "Well, they are not coming from there. There's a neutral territory right between us. See?", he pointed out.

    "But why they haven't reported rogues or rogues attacks?", I said looking for files that I knew didn't exist. 

    Leo took the files and read them all over again. Even a pack that was near Moon Chasers has been attacked and apparently the only one that hasn't report anything was the Dark Moon Pack. 

    Leo's eyes turned black as he called for his beta and third in command. They knock the door and Leo gave them permission to get in. 

    "Mason, double the warriors training. I even want the pups training", he said with a stern look, his eyes still black.

    "Yes, Alpha", said Mason.

    "Carter, double the night patrols. No one gets in or out the territory, is that clear?", he said with his Alpha voice shaking the windows of the office.

    "Yes, Alpha", Carter replied. 

    "You're dismissed", Leo said and they took their leave. 

    Leo's chest was shaking a bit and I hugged him by instinct. Hiding my face in his chest, he hugged me back. We were like that for a couple of minutes until someone knocked the door. I looked up and his eyes were green. 

    "Get in", he said and I realized that it was the future Alpha the one that got in the office.
