The Last One

Alphas

    The music stopped and everyone was gathered outside the house. I made my way downstairs when my skin didn't felt like fire. Axel and Connor where barking orders around. When I got outside, Gary made his way to me.

    "They have already gathered all our pack members. At least the one's that were at the party. Also Axel evacuated elders, pregnant women and children to safe rooms. They are waiting for your orders Luna", he said as we made our way to my pack members. 

    Axel and Connor were discussing how to colaborate but discussing was an understatement. They don't like each other, the pack members of both packs were getting nervous as their leaders instead of helping each other were yelling at each other. 

    "I only left them for five seconds and now this", said Gary feeling tired of both of them.

    I gave him a pat on his shoulder and approached the two angry Alphas. 

    "She's our greatest warrior! You cannot just decide that she's not fighting!", spat Connor.

    "I need to know that she's safe! She's staying with me!", said Axel with gritted teeth.

    "She will not go with you! She is our Luna", growled Connor.

    "She's my mate so she's staying!", growled back Axel. 

    I cleared my throat and both of them turned.  Axel's blue eyes were pitch black but as soon as they saw me his expression softened. Connor on the other was still mad. I put a hand in Connor's shoulder and his eyes were turning green. 

    "So?", asked me Connor and I started sniffing the air. 

    "We have about twenty rogues in both north and south", I replied to Connor. 

     "How do you know?", asked a curious Axel. Connor and I shared a look but Connor decided to answer before I could say I was half lycan and my senses were stronger.

    "She's also a good tracker so her nose is really amazing!", said trying to convince Axel but he looked far away from that. I just nodded in agreement since I couldn't tell him, at least not yet. 

    "Really? What a bad excuse", I told him through mindlink.

    "Oh shut up! He buy it, that's what matters", replied Connor through mindlink.

    "We need two teams for each side then", said Connor shrugging. 

    "Yeap", was my short reply.

    "Ok then Muffin's coming with me to the north border and you go with your pack to the south border", said Connor dragging me away from Axel. 

    Axel pulled me away from him in less than a second.

    "She's staying in the house", growled Axel.

    I got my arm away from his grip and merely scoffed. 

    "I'm their Luna and I will fight by their side", I said as I made my way beside Connor. 

    Axel had a hurt expression but I couldn't let my people fight without me. I was still their official Luna and as soon as those words escaped from me, my pack members stared to shift one by one. 

    "We will fight by your side too, Luna", said Gary in his wolf form through the mindlink. 

    His brown wolf bigger than me in my human form. Even though everyone is bigger than me in human form. I gave Gary a smile and looked up at Axel.

    "We need to communicate somehow and due to the mindlink I guess you are right after all", Axel started nodding. "Connor will be going with you", I finally said and shift breaking my dress in the process.

    "What?", both of them said at the same time. 

    "Connor we don't have time to waste", I told him through mindlink.

    "I know but why me? Gary can go with him!", said Connor and Axel agree with him. 

    I ignored both of them as I sensed the rogues coming closer. 

    "They are getting close", I told everyone through the mindlink and Connor gave me a serious look. 

    "Take care", he said through the mindlink. 

    In my wolf form I made my way to Axel. His expression softened and took my snout between his hands. He was small compared to my wolf. He rested his forehead in me taking my scent. I licked him and he started to chuckle. I backed and turned to my pack members with pride. They were waiting for me and as soon as I ran to the north border they were following me. 

    The smell of rogues got my wolves angry and I was ready to rip throats out. There were more rogues than I thought, there were about fifty rogues. The first kill was easy, Rylee is bigger than a average male. Actually Rylee is just like an Alpha male and that's an advantage for me. I was getting rid of two rogues when I heard Gary's cry, a wolf almost my size was above him. A growl escaped from my chest and the next thing I know is that I'm getting him off of Gary. I bite a big chunck of flesh out of his side and he tries to bite me back but I pull away just in time. We started circling each other, waiting for an opening. I started to notice that he was giving me a particular look, I couldn't tell what was. In a rapid movement he jumped at my loin and pinned me down, I used all my strenght to get him out of my back with his claws scratching me. He wasn't bitting me, he was using only his claws to hurt me. Once I got him out of my back, I took a careful look at his eyes and they were no longer red, they were pitch black. I know that look, lust. If he wants to mate with me then he wants me alive, in that case I'll give him a hard time. I ran straight to him with no intentions of stopping, our bodies collided and this time I was on top of him. He started scratching my stomach but I didn't care much. I put one paw at his neck making him choke, he was about to give his last breath until another rogue interfered with our fight and jumped straight at me. We started rolling down the hill, when we landed, the rogue started to snap his teeth at me even though he was smaller than Gary. I licked my teeth and finished him with one movement. The one who was attacking Gary made his way to me. I was ready to finish our fight when a growl filled the air and our heads followed the sound. Axel's black wolf was running toward us and that got me completely distracted. The rogue started bitting my paws and I whimpered. I took the opportunity to bite his shoulder and he backed away just in time for me to bite him again in his throat. The sound of his bones breaking filled the air and most of the rogues were defeated. 

    Axel stopped at my sight and started looking at my injuries that were not too much. He came with Connor and the others but Connor made his way to the fight. Axel worried eyes were starting to break my heart so I started to rub my head in his neck. It felt so good that even without the mate bond it felt right. It didn't passed long before he started doing the same thing. I heard him purr and it sounded so cute and hot at the same time that I'm starting to think I don't need the mate bond to feel attracted. He definetely is my mate and even if he was some kind of a player I don't doubt he would change his behavior for his mate.
