I feel like I've been set up to fail Because I'm a stranger in town But how else can someone believe in self Because she chose to turn her life around To be given a chance at Life anew But who really cares it's not you To control the life of another Isn't any isn't fair to any child father and mother We all messed up that we do But what if it was you in their shoes Would it be funny to see your hurt To feel like your face is thrown in the dirt Talked about everywhere you go Because you're someone they don't know Not family to call your own People judge on things and know They Snicker and laugh The moment that you turn your back Trying to turn one's heart black Because they don't like how you act To try to scare you away Because they own all in town today Digging into your past To control you and how you act To lie and blame another It's just a way of running for cover It isn't right and it's so unjust To not be able to even earn your trust Day by day she walks alone Looking to find a place to fit On her start to begin again Because broken heart was the only friend Time and time again she prays Defends no one that will stay Her family is all dead and gone And she's been for too long Her childhood was always abused Do I have since true to her and others Love this deeper than child to mother To love God love from above To get friendships and soon yours will cover And don't hate because of skin color And then we're all the same as each other
