A Strange Sighting

“There are almost a thousand files, I have to search them individually, and that definitely would take time”, said Mazey.”Then you take all the time and we will deal with the rest”, said Alfred. But when the bright sky finally dissolved and the night sky fell in, a variety of insecurities clouded his brain. The sun had already drifted into the horizon and in a few moments, the veil of the darkness prevailed. The sky further shifted from a vermilion hue to a black sheet with tiny bright dots on them, primitively known as stars. And they provided the only light in the universe, or so it seemed but they were hundreds of light years apart. Strong necessity of a shelter was felt, that could safeguard them from all the prominent threats the surface had to offer. “So what now… we are a bit stranded now… right?” asked Toni, while she lit her flash light. The light from the device spread thoroughly in the black mass giving vision to as far the eye could see.”I don’t believe, staying here is a good choice… after all who knows what inhabits this place”, said Milo gravely. His eyes were focused into the woods searching for any hustle. Alfred took out his own flashlight and lit it, and then he scanned the surrounding. The temperature kept lowering and the occasional winds gave them chills.”It might be a good idea to take refuge in the wood, temporarily… after all this place is completely open at every direction. The trees there might hinder their advancement towards us… if”, said Alfred as he leaned over Mazey’s palm top to check her progress on the work.”Will the woods be a definitief choice… we are not very sure what hides inside the woods”, Matthew interrupted. ”Whatever lies there, won’t be more than a small animal; apparently we know that Minks don’t like it cold and the place is too small to contain larger feline animals.” explained Alfred. But, barely any one diverted their attention to Alfred’s words. They were clearly avoiding his opinion. That’s when Gill stood up and addressed the crowd. He looked immensely erratic; his body was giving jitters now and then. Soon, every one’s flash light coincided in his face and he was blinded by the light. After a numerous attempts to initiate whatever he was trying to do, he cleared his throat for the last time and then in a low voice said, “I believe what Alfred has to say is correct and he is in good conscience. If we remain here, letting our backs exposed to the threats of this world, our flesh will only serve as the meal for those unholy creatures” he breathed and gulped a lot of air to begin with…again “So it would be wise to conceal ourselves into the thick of the wood”. It has always been very unfair to judge a man by his appearance because then nobody looks for the heart. From then, Gill’s true soul became recondite for the others to read. The boy’s surely had a nerve. Alfred, being delighted for the first time since the tragedy at the bunkers, smiled broadly. The decision was finally passed with every one’s consent. The crew unpacked their belongings and walked their way to the woods.”You have a way with the words, don’t you”, Alfred stroked Gill’s frizzy hair. He didn’t utter a word and smiled all the time they were in an eye contact. To their left was the track that led upwards to a forested elevation. The trail was previously a trekking trail and it was quite famous amongst the citizens of Myas. The path was well paved, like a boulevard and was enclosed with canopies over their heads and brawny trunks beside them. They felt protected, in a way. Much of the trail was known to all, because it happened to be on every one’s to-do list for Sundays. After a climb for an hour or so, they were ultimately at the top of the world (I mean at the top of the hill… but an exhausting climb for an hour would definitely make any one elated). The dense tree coverage gradually lessened, and the small bushed became scanty. The deodars that occurred at the bottom most tract of the hill were replaced by a finer variety of Oak and Cedar. The seasoned aroma from its bark was more crisp than the tinted brown beer served in the bunkers. The enchanting ambience surely captivated its audience. They protruded further into the forest and then settled in a flat land. The site was somehow not thronged with mighty beast-sized trees or the irritating hedges. A gape up on the sky would look like a patchwork of stars embraced by the broken pieces of the moon. They scattered around and sat on the ground furnished with dry leaves that rattled when they sat. Alfred was keen on finding something special, like a covering of moss that could cushion his back. A bunch of dry twigs were collected and held against each other in the center. It made an excellent fire setup. They had some handy matches which they used to light up the fire. The flames were slow and weak in the beginning but gradually grew in power as it engulfed the twigs. Alfred felt extremely radiant; he shared a very strong bond with the nature. But, he had palpably forgotten the progress that Mazey had been through; she looked pretty wholehearted with her work. They were inseparable for the time being. Everyone was making their efforts assemble and organize setups which could comfort their sleep. “Whoa… Guys you better take a look at this. What the hell in the world was that supposed to be?” shrieked Mazey. She was completely stupefied by her discovery. The crew jumped and popped from their seats and leaped over Mazey’s Palmtop. The clips they were going to witness were of destiny defying importance,
