CHAPTER 9

1993 Words
As the anger she felt kept on burning up inside her, she breathed heavily, she could feel the sudden energy flowing all over her and she didn't want to let it go, she just wanted to grasp on it as long as she could. "They are dead Rey, you have to stop now!" She heard Vee's warning but she just frowned in anger, tightened her fists and then she growled, she shook her head and blinked for about five minutes, the uneasiness she felt forced her to let go, she opened her hands and everything went back to normal immediately. "What color are your eyes Rey?" Halsey asked her. "Dazzling green." Rey replied softly as Eli, Haley and Ellen walked towards them. "Why what's wrong?" "T-they are brownish-reddish." Halsey stuttered. "What's going on Vee?" Rey blinked again. "Princess you...you are undergoi-." Vee started but Rey didn't catch her last word, she felt a quick rustling inside her head and then she breathed in, shut her eyes and then she fell to the ground. "What is wrong with her Vee?" Eli who was already on her side together with Halsey turned to Vee. "She will be okay, but we will have to wait." Vee answered. "What happened anyway?" Haley asked but no one answered. ***** "What did you do Rey?" Rey opened her eyes to the voice of her concerned grandmother, she was where she would always meet her when she wanted to, the extremely white room with just two chairs on opposite side. "What did you do!" Her grandmother asked again once a step away from her. "I don't know." She breathed heavily and stared at her bare hands, she then lifted her gaze up to her grandmother and saw her fuming so she shuddered and stepped back. "I didn't mean to grandma." She shook her head and blinked twice feeling the uneasiness in them. "Princess Arillia Rey Vasten I won't ask you again, WHAT DID YOU DO?" Her grandmother's voice echoed all over and Rey swallowed hard and focused on her grandmother's eyes on her, she had made a mistake, a very big mistake. ***** EIGHT HOURS EARLIER "Something is bothering you, what is it?" Halsey on the driver's sit in her car looked Rey with the corner of her eye, her main focus up ahead and her hands at the steering wheel. "Except the fact that am worried I may never get back home?" Rey asked her. "Nothing." She shook her head. "Maybe because I am not comfortable in here." She added. "This is the only means I use for transport." Halsey said to her, meaning the car. "Well, this is going to take something I am going to have to get used to." "Sucks to be you doesn't it?" Halsey laughed and Rey just took a slow deep breathe. "So what really happened?" She asked parking her car in front of a small abandoned house, you could tell because it was too shady. "Eli took me to this place, it had a very beautiful stream, he told me that thr place where he usually goes to take his mind off things and if I am being honest it was really peaceful." She explained but failed to mention the first thing he'd said while there, he had straight up asked her if she ever took a bath, judging by the fact that shr never changed he clothes, but in all honesty she had cleared up the misunderstanding. "So what happened?" "Well when we were coming to the place you told him to meet, I mentioned that I could feel the presence of some people following us and to clear that, he pretended to be concerned hugged me and took a good look at where we had come from then in that moment before he let go of me....he-" "He kissed you." Halsey cut her off. "Yes." Rey replied softly avoiding her gaze. "How did that make you feel?" "It was unexpected and I just..." "It gave you mixed feelings." Halsey exclaimed. "I can't, I cannot betray him like that." Rey shook her head staring at her engagement ring. "What if you never get to see him? What then?" Halsey asked her. "I cannot lose hope, it's all I've got right now." Rey replied and alighted the car, following her closely as they entered their main destination. For like three hours they had spent the day with Halsey showing her around, going to the market, where she had actually met a very interesting person, someone Halsey couldn't take her eyes off, he was brown, had curly dark hair and was a cop, someone she mentioned that her father being the general and the leader of their home, which Halsey had said it's name as Westworld had given him a chance to make thing right years ago. After taking a long day's stroll all around different places Halsey had shown her the different communities there were and each one of them was surrounded by walls, which she'd said were for protection against the ongoing clashes and for some reason seeing just how much they had been destroyed Rey felt that it wasn't over yet, that whatever Westworld was going through, it had just began. "You done thinking coz I need a hand." Halsey who was trying to get the door to open with no success stared Rey who was lost in thoughts. "Let me," Rey offered and with just one push it opened. "Being an alien does have it's advantages." "So does being a human person." Rey followed her inside the empty building. "Why are we here again?" She asked as they all looked around. "Someone sent me a text saying that I needed to get here." Halsey turned to her. "You think that there may be a conspiracy against the kigdom don't you?" Rey asked suddenly. "It would explain alot." Halsey shrugged. "But if there were that would mean it's from..." She stopped. "Someone close to the kingdom." But Halsey finished her sentence for her. "I really wish I would tell you that you are wrong, I really wish so but I can't." Rey said to her honestly. "I respect you for what you do for your home you know." "Thank you." Halsey smiled at her. "What year are you Halsey?" While they still looked around Rey stood still her eyes at a dried grass on the floor, which was full of dirt. "We are four months into 2020." "What?" Rey's mouth fell open in shock and Halsey stared at her confused. "Something wrong?" She asked her. "A day here is a week back home, my earth Octus Nova is in the time 2045 and that means my earth and your's rotates differently, back home we are just a couple of miles away from Mars and that means I am from the future and you are from the past." Rey explained having that gut feeling that someone had talked to her about something to do with it. "And all that means that I am living in the present." She added. "All this is so surreal." Halsey exclaimed. "It is and it's very unlikely I will survive this time, the present I mean." Rey breathed. "You are very correct." A deep voice said coming from the door and the owners voice, a huge brown man followed by two men Rey could recognize very well, the same ones who had been sent by Halsey to scare her off each with a pistol on their hands entered and one of them closed the door in full forse. "It was a trap." Halsey said her voice a little shaky, she was anxious but Rey reached out for her hand and held it. "Vee," She called out hoping that with the long hours Vee had gone, she would back and she was back and as the hologram came to light the men didn't notice but Halsey did that was why she squeezed her hand. "And it's going to be sweet payback." The one who closed the door said. "You are outnumbered." He added and laugh. "Not if we can help." Someone knocked the door down and because it was all rusty it made it easier for him, Eli together with his sister and Haley behind them. "Sweet reunion but no one leaves here alive." The brown guy said and for a moment Rey alnost did convince herself that they were just joking and they weren't, Halsey had gotten rid of the two men she had hired to get rid of her and that would sum up the anger she felt run through them. Will we survive this? She wondered, Eli coming to their rescue was on their advantage but a disadvantage all the same because they were unarmed and they were surrounded but three men who were armed with a motive of hurting them. Typical humans. She thought, her eyes at her new friends who thought rescuing someone meant just that. While they she listened to them confront each other back and forth Rey found out that the three were from a neibhouring state but in that heated argument the three men c****d their guns and aimed them right at Halsey, she was the problem so far but then in their thoughts she was next. "What do I do?" Rey asked herself, she felt the tension run all over them so she did the only thing that seemed fit, she avoided allowing herself to remain calm. In that instant with a g*n aimed straight at Halsey, Rey raised her hand just in time to stop the bullet in mid air, she let go of Halsey's hand on her's and closed it slowly, the effect of that was that the house shook vigorously. "Ah! Rey," Halsey called after her but she didn't pay her any attention. "I warned you!" Rey said coldly, her looks all cold, she had her eyes on three of them. There was horror in her eyes, a darkness that she was emitting her face showed it all and Eli, Ellen and Haley seeing that they stepped back in fright then Rey felt it, fear creeping all over them, with just one hand her focus on the little air between the palm of their hands, she absorbed it and willingly they dropped their guns to the ground. "I gave you a chance to leave back then." She said once more and the animosity of the anger she felt within did not give her a chance to comprehend what she was doing. "And I won't do it again." She added used both her hands to drain the air out of them, she daw them fall and gasp for it but she couldn't let go, she couldn't open her hands, they didn't deserve a fighting chance she knew that and before she realized it was  Vee who had called out her name not once or twice but thrice but she still felt it, the sudden energy in her entire body one she couldn't control.                               ***** "So that is exactly what happened." Rey sunk in her chair her eyes at her grandmother who didn't even flich. "But I didn't mean to." She added. "You did, you did Rey." Her grandmother answered her and Rey opened her mouth to protest, to defend herself but she couldn't, she closed it and swallowed hard. Every word that her grandmother had uttered was indeed true and it dawned on her in the worst way possible that it was because her grandmother had fiqured out she was the Princess on the prophecy, the one who the prophetic words were spoken for, if only there was something she could do, if only she could avoid everything that was to come, if only she could control what she felt or make the right choices without a cause of doubt, during that long moment of intense silence Rey knew very well that she could.
