"You missed that, didn't you?" Rey turned and faced Renix as she slowly took off her eyes from the flight deck.
"I did, I missed flying." Rey said softly. "Alot actually." Then she stood still.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She raised an eyebrow at her.
"I know you can telepathically talk to Eyken." Renix smiled, a genuine smile.
"Yeah." Rey shrugged.
"So before we landed did he say something wrong to you?" Renix asked her.
"No, why?" Rey shook her head she knew what would come next, the statement her cousin would make, but she went for it anyway.
There was no hiding things from her atleast she had learnt that from an early age but as family, a friend and an ally, Renix had proven herself to her over and over again, she would always be the bridge between her and Eyken even when their fights went unresolved for days and as she stood there all she wanted to do was say out loud what the problem was.
"Because you haven't said more than two words to him since we got in this ship," But she didn't, all she could do was process Renix's statement, it was true she hadn't talked to her own fiancé and noticing that he had taken off, walked to the only room she knew they would share when the night struck, it was the only spacious room in that ship and that meant Renix would occupy the other one and as much as she wanted to just let everything pause, take it all in, offer to be with her cousin that choice was not favourable to either of them.
"I.... It's hard to say." Rey said softly as she walked towards her and stood beside her.
"I know you, you know.... So tell me, did something happen between you and the human you had locked eyes with?" Renix asked and Rey took in a very deep breathe knowing perfectly well what Renix's question meant.
"I saw." Renix added.
"No, I mean nothing major happened." Rey said to her, her emotions contact as she briefly explained about the kiss she had shared with Eli, how he would always remind her of Eyken, how at times she felt uncomfortable whenever around him because of the betrayal she felt she was unwillingly committing.
"Do you love him?" Renix asked her, a more genuine question than she had anticipated, she didn't hold the answer to that but she knew all too well where her heart lay, where her feelings were even with the confusion surrounding her.
"No." So she shook her head.
"I know I don't, I love Eyken, nothing will ever change that, I gave my heart to him a long time ago and he owns it now and he always will-" She paused for a while smiling. "This," She rubbed her ring finger. "Is one sign of the love I have for him, it may not need to be proven by the fact that we will get married but what I am sure of is the fact that I trully do love Eyken but..."
"You also care for the human." Renix finished off her statement and Rey who was still focused on her looked around for a brief moment then she shot her attention back to Renix.
"Yes, I do, I never meant for that to happen Renix, I swear to you." Rey breathed.
"I know you, you don't have to worry. Does the human have feelings for you too?"
"He thinks he does but he still loves his ex, Haley and so does she, the problem is that they are both afraid of exploring that love once again."
"So what are you going to do?" Renix asked.
"Help." Rey chuckled scanning everything around her.
"Like you always do." Renix smiled at her.
"Yes."
"There are some of your clothes in the closet, you can change into them once you take a bath."
"Thank you."
"It's alright."
"How is she?" Rey blinked twice, and Renix no questions asked, none needed she knew exactly what her cousin meant. She knew her all too well to know how her relationship with her mother had been since when they were children and so she breathed.
"She is okay, she really misses you alot everyone does even mom." And said.
"I miss them too." Rey answered her honestly and waked to her right where the sleeping quotas were situated, she looked closely at the one she knew her cousin would spend the night and then she lay a hand on the other one and as the door slid open once recognising her Eyken who silently sat on the bed lifted his head up to face her.
"Hey." She walked towards him, he would just stand for a second or so and then he took her into his embrace.
"I missed you so very much, you know." He whispered in her ear.
"I do and I missed you too."
"Is everything okay?" He held her hands taking her to the same spot she found him.
Rey opened her mouth to speak, but she just couldn't form a single word. She slowly allowed herself to be drawn into the warmth of his beautiful eyes, she leaned in and kissed him and as the kiss deepened she realised just how much she had missed his kisses whether they were for gestures or not, the taste of his lips in her mouth, just how much she loved their sweet taste and although she had never shared those intimate moment with anyone she had always known that she would never trade Eyken's for anything or for anyone.
"Wow." Eyken breathed gently breaking off the kiss.
"Yeah, wow." She smiled at him.
"I love you Rey."
"And I love you too Eyken." She slowly let go of his hands but he reached out for them once more and before she knew it she was wrapped in them and as she shot her gaze up she felt something, something she didn't want to feel, something she had no control of.
Her eyes were twitching back and forth, they were changing color from her own dazzling green ones to the ones she had been warned by her grandmother, the ones she had experienced once, reddish-brown and so she tried so very hard to control them, she closed them for a few seconds then she abruptly opened them and they were all back to normal.
"I need to take a shower." She said letting go.
"Okay." He said softly and walked to the door and as he faced her quietly while she took off her clothes.
"I know you won't tell me about Eli, but I overheard everything and...I know perfectly well that what you've done is not worse compared to what I have." He said in low tones knowing perfectly well that she couldn't hear a single word.
10 minutes or so was how long Rey took coming from the sleeping quotas Eyken and Renix's eyes landed on her.
She was fully changed to a black Octus Nova royal black t-shirt and a black trousers with short black boots.
"You always look super attractive in black." She heard Eyken say.
"Oh come on, will you two start making out now?" Renix joked.
"Hey." Eyken nudged her.
"You could have this, but you are never interested."
"You know what I prefer."
Rey smiled as she watched the two get on with their teases as they stood to leave but inches away from the exit point Rey stood still in time for her cousin and Eyken to notice.
"Listen before we get out there I need to tell you two something. " She said to them.
"What is it?" Eyken walked to her but she moved just a few inches away from him.
"It's... It's better if I show you." So she closed her eyes and inhaled then she opened them letting in the air come out of her but also she held it in for a while facing them.
