CHAPTER 13

"A what?" Eli's mouth fell wide open staring hard at her. "How far are you?"  "We are actually very close." "We?"  "Yes, we." "I can't wait to see you."  "I actually don't think she can hear you." Haley said to him, he just turned faced her then he smiled slightly at her. "Yeah, I can tell." He answered her. "An incoming travelling ship, but you can call it a space ship." Rey finally answered, she was smiling rather too much that they all noticed, there was a relaxed moment in her, she was more calmer than she had been prior to the days they had all spent with her but most importantly they all noticed the pure longing in her eyes, how expectant she was. "Not to sound dumb, but how do you know that?" Halsey directed her attention to Rey.  "Because I know the type of things that are not from this earth, because I know what I own." Rey answered simply. "Is it just me, or is she super calm?" Ellen whispered to Haley who was beside her. "Nope." Haley shook her head. "It's not just you." She added. "So...thinking out loud Rey, if it's a space ship? Why can't we see it?" Hearing Eli's question, Rey chuckled shook her head and then held that inevitable smile on her face. "It has activated a vanishing mechanism." She said softly. "It should be landing in about...1,2,3 and..." She paused and walked straight ahead to the exact spot Ellen and Haley had found her, then she stood still. "Four." She finished just in time for a But then all that smile she wore slowly evaporated once she saw it, taken aback, she stepped back. "No way!" She gasped. "No way what?" Halsey asked her. "Isn't that the ship you had in mind?" Her heart beating a little bit faster, Rey kept her eyes on one spot and as it slid up she clenched her fist but slowly let go seeing the figure of the person she had just had a conversation with. He was fair unlike her, he had light brown eyes and dark brown curly medium length hair and was just a couple of inches taller than Eli, in full dark leatherd jacket and trouser, the same colour long boots that she knew perfectly well what they hid and before she knew it she was in his embrace, she had kissed him deep, savouring that moment she had missed so much until someone cleared their throat and she looked over her shoulders. "Renix." She gasped, seeing her, the ever fashioned cousin of hers in a very short grey dressed and black long boots, she had the same colour skin tone as hers but wore contact grey lenses and had her hair dyed to a dark grey. Very fashionable, she could still remember everything about her, how much her mother was always complaining except she had inherited all her sense of style from her. "Hey you." Renix smiled at her as she hugger her. "It's so good to have you here, to see you." Rey said to her as she let go. "Am so happy to see you two." She said softly taking in their presence in her but in split second she saw their faces change and Eyken walking over to the people who stood behind her. "Humans!" Eyken whispered coldly and lifted his right hand to hit them. "Don't do it." Rey held his hand, it was a firm touch but it still sent chills down her spine, that was the kind of effect he always had on her, she was vulnerable when with him, her emotions were always out of place, she couldn't control them no matter how much she tried. "Please." She begged him and he immediately let go of Eli. "Why?" Eyken turned to Rey.  "I-I." She stuttered. "Just don't do it." She said softly looking intently at his eyes, they held question she could not answer, she could read all of them. "They are human, so why, why protect either of them." He asked out loud and she swallowed hard. "They have given me a place to stay, that's why." And then she answered honestly. "Okay, if you say so." He sighed faced the four humans then he turned his attention to her. "This is for you." He added and she mouthed him a thank you. "Why do you hate the human people so much, Rey-."  "She is a Princess, you are bound to show her the respect she deserves." Renix cut Ellen off and although Rey had never not even once asked them that, Ellen knew right there as she wondered what to say next, just how much respect Rey was shown, they had seen that with her mother it just never occurred to either of them that it was customary for Rey too.  "Apologies, okay, so R-I mean Princess Rey had the same hatred when we first met her, not saying that she doesn't now." Ellen stared at Rey for a brief moment. "So why do you hate us so much?" She asked. "One because you are the same people who use chemicals that have destroyed the ozone layer, making it unfit for so many animals." Eyken answered her. "But that doesn't mean that it's all of us." Haley complained. "Haley it's okay, leave it be." Rey agitated said to her, she was trying to ease the tension between them and all that she hoped during that intense moment is that her new found friends would figure that out and luckily they did because all the a hundred questions died down but then as she took a good look at the space ship something struck her, not that she hadn't noticed before, she had but she hadn't taken it into consideration. She could tell by the colour of the space ship that it wasn't the one she had in mind, what was right in front of her was a royal space ship, not a large one, more like a pod but a space ship still, of the ones used for spying on other planets, the ones used when the royal court was in need of informations when it was in their personal interest and that meant that her cousin and Eyken had either diverted their paths to her or there was trouble back home, so she didn't have the heart to hold it in. "This is supposed to be for the court, did the Queen authorize this?" She turned her attention to Renix, who seeing her worried face signaled to Eyken to take the lead. "She did, in a way." He answered her. "87 104 97 116 39 115 32 116 104 97 116 32 115 117 112 112 111 115 101 100 32 116 111 32 109 101 97 110 44 32 105 115 32 116 104 101 114 101 32 97 32 112 114 111 98 108 101 109 32 98 97 99 107 32 104 111 109 63 32. (What's that supposed to mean, is there a problem back home?)" "89 101 115. (Yes.)" He said softly.  "What language are they speaking?" Eli whispered to his sister who just stared blankly at him, she wasn't the only one buffled by what was going on, knowing the damage Rey had caused a few hours earlier then seeing her own kind in front of them and having to defend them from her own kidn was too much for a single day. "What's going on Eyken?" Rey had her eyes on Eyken he stood still and stared at her. "There is a problem back home." "What kind of problem?"  "A war."  "Who is fighting us?"  "The Nevris." "What?" Rey's eyes widened in shock, she knew what a war with The Nevris meant, they were their neighbouring state, a state that they had both worked on mending their relationship since when she was just a child and years later none of the efforts they had all put were futile and if they had declared a war on them she knew exactly what that meant, they were trying to outdo their way of life. Could her being sent to the human earth someone's devious plan, could someone have just eliminated her just so it would be easier to try and control Octus Nova?  Rey wondered, of all the things that had happened, she had figured out that she must have died prior to her being in the human earth and now all things were adding up, someone somewhere wanted her gone she knew that but the only problem was that she didn't know who that was whether it was someone close to her or not. She breathed in heavily, she had had one long night and the surprise that morning although a good one she knew deep inside that she had somethings to take care of, first getting some rest, then getting Veey back and so she turned to Halsey. "Notify me of everything your dad will tell you." She said to her. "You guys go get some rest, will meet in the evening." She said softly then her eyes landed on Eli. "You are not coming with?" He asked, there was a hint of sadness in his voice but she couldn't tell. "I don't know... But," Rey shook her head glanced at him then at Eyken and for the first time in a very, very long time, she felt torn, torn between two worlds she didn't think she would. Two worlds apart, two worlds that never in a million years would they ever not even in their right mind try and make alliances but she knew then that she didn't have to choose, in a way even despite everything she was going through she knew that she was at a place she could call home with him, there was a place where her heart belonged and though she was not sure about her choice she felt his love for her deep inside her own heart in ways she didn't think she would ever have to feel. "I am home now." She smiled and followed him.
